Hey everyone.
After the New Years marathon and Trigun, Reign, Futurama, and Lupin III premier what direction will Adult Swim take? Will it finally become targeted towards ADULTS (opposed to people 14-18 TV14 to TVMA). Will the schedule change, will Cartoon Network finally lose its name as a childrens network? Do you think Adult Swim will reach a new hight on CN?

I don't see why they would need to jump to TV-MA so suddenly, I don't really like shows of that nature, but that's just me. I don't really see truely uncut anime either. But it's POSSIBLE.

A TV-MA Cartoon Network. :D Man, what a dream, but it's entirely possible. Everyone's saying that once Adult Swim goes weeknights CN won't and can't be viewed as a kid's network anymore and that's what I'm going with.
Well I voted that it would be better and more adult oriented which means they will loosen up on edits and the such.

I think it'll pretty much stay the same.

AS will never be the same again. It'll be on weeknights (excluding Fridays and Saturdays) and it will have shows like Futurama and Lupin III. CN will finally be an all-ages channel (not that it never was to begin with, it's just that it never had the guts until now) Anyone who thinks that Adult Swim will die off or be worse off than it is now (not that I think of it) should be sent off to a loony bin ASAP.

i think adult swim will get bigger (as in more popular) in 2003. futurama has a strong cult following that will tune in to watch the show. eventually, enough of them will leave the tv on. this will be good news for home movies. also, anime fans who happen to be watching futurama will see ads for the anime later in the night; hence good news for action-shows. futurama also appears on sunday nights, which will be good news for williams street shows and anything else that may air.
in the longrun, 2003 should be a great year for adult swim.
Adult Swim can only get better, but the final frontier (last horizon, take a generic "last place" slogan) of 100% uncut anime will still take a long time. Even then, they won't show La Blue Girl, so stop asking!! :moon:

I don't think it woukd do as well as it did on the weekends Why? Because, people have to go to work late! (like ME) and everyone would just start to tape it,but people actually watch it if it was on the weekend. I'm still gonna watch it.

I think AS 2003 will be a little better than it is now. Maybe I'm not optimistic enough, but I don't think editing and more adult-oriented things will be all that much. I think its a little too early to tell right now, but my bet is that if things do become more adult-oriented, it will be later when AS Weeknights is more situated.

it will hopefully be better, if they don't make more shows like the oblongs

I think it will. Though I wonder when we're going to find out news about ASC. ASA has 5 shows coming out next year. But nobody knows what's happening with ASC.

So if Adult Swim goes from TV-14 to TV-MA would that mean that they could air Rejected, I read here that they rejected 'Rejected' a week before it was so post to air because they said stuff like 'sweet Jesus'. So could they air it?

there's more to that cancellation than "sweet jesus". if i remember correctly, an executive thought rejected wasn't funny, and therefore not good enough to air. the sweet jesus thing was just a reason given for cancellation.

has it been confirmed that CN will go to an all ages network? Lot of of people have been taking about it. At first I thought they were just hoping.
