From CN's official press release:
Carl and Brak Team Up for Adult Swim's New Year's Eve Bash!
LIVE from Times Square
Special Adult Swim Marathon Airs 11 p.m.-3 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31
World Premiere Episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast at Midnight Features Aqua Teen Hunger Force "Origin Story"
One is a demented space pirate. The other is a fat slob from New Jersey. Together, this unlikely pair - Brak from The Brak Show and Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force - will team up on Cartoon Network for a New Year's Eve celebration unlike any other on television. Adult Swim's New Year's Eve Bash!, will air "LIVE" from Times Square on Tuesday, December 31 from 11 p.m-3 a.m. (ET, PT) and will include a world premiere episode of mega-hit Space Ghost Coast to Coast at 12 midnight.
Carl and Brak will host the four-hour marathon of Adult Swim programs from New York's Times Square, introducing episodes of original animated series like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Brak Show, Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law and Space Ghost Coast to Coast. While Carson Daly makes all the teenagers squeal and Dick Clark rocks all night long at age 73, Carl and Brak have a few surprises of their own in store as they navigate the hotbed of human inequity that is New York's Times Square on December 31. These two animated icons will intermingle with the crowd, providing insightful commentary on this festive evening.
At midnight, Meatwad (co-star of Aqua Teen Hunger Force) will be dropped, ceremonially, in Times Square, to the probable horror of all gathered. Immediately following that spectacle will be a world premiere episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. In "Baffler Meal" Space Ghost is forced into a raw deal with the deadly Colonial Man, forever altering the future of classic rock - again. Willie Nelson and the Aqua Teen Hunger Force star in this episode.
The schedule for Adult Swim's New Year's Eve Bash! follows. All times are ET, PT.
11 p.m. Aqua Teen Hunger Force "Dumber Dolls"
11:15 p.m. Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law "Shaggy Busted"
11:30 p.m. The Brak Show "The Feud"
11:45 p.m. Sealab 2021 "Tinfins"
PREMIERE 12 a.m. Space Ghost Coast to Coast "Baffler Meal"
12:15 a.m. Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law "The Dabba Don"
12:30 a.m. The Brak Show "President Dad"
12:45 a.m. Sealab 2021 "Bizarro"
1 a.m. Aqua Teen Hunger Force "Revenge of the Mooninites"
1:15 a.m. Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law "Bannon Custody Case"
1:30 a.m. The Brak Show "Psychoklahoma"
1:45 a.m. Sealab 2021 "Chickmate"
2 a.m. Aqua Teen Hunger Force "Bus of the Undead"
2:15 a.m. Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law "Very Personal Injury"
2:30 a.m. The Brak Show "War Next Door"
2:45 a.m. Sealab 2021 "I, Robot"
Adult Swim is Cartoon Network's successful block of late night animation for adults, currently airing on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Beginning Sunday, January 12, 2003 Adult Swim will be telecast from 11 p.m.-2 a.m. (ET, PT) five nights per week, Sunday-Thursday. The expanded block will offer the hit series FUTURAMA, quirky original animated series including Home Movies, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, and stunning action/animé series such as Cowboy Bebop and InuYasha.

Holy Fudge
I seriously CANNOT wait for NewYear's, a new episode of Space Gost with the origin of ATHF and the dropping of Meatwad instead of watching a 300 year old man say the same crap? Sweet!
Forget Daly and Clark, you watch Brak and Carl!

YES! The ATHF Space Ghost episode is being shown! But how is it the Force's "origin story"?
And I wonder what those "other surprises" will be....

This really is so sweet. I have shunned celebrating on New Years Eve for years, but now I have a reason to celebrate! Oh happy day! Seriously though, this is frickin' awesome. I dunno if their could be a better pair. This is gonna be great...

Oh, Brak's space pirating days ended forty years ago, and Carl's not fat, it's galndular! :p
Anyway, it seems that this has turned into something much more than any of us ever expected. I'm wondering how our hosts are going to "intermingle with the crowd." Will it be an all animated corwd? Will the characters be digitally placed next to real people? Will we have guys in suits? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
A new episode of Space Ghost is great. One explaining the origins of the Aqua Teens is amazing. And then there's Meatwad dropping down...oh man, this should be good.
Although, I'm a little concerned that Space Ghost has "resorted" to a crossover. Oh well, best not to think about it, I guess.

Well, considering that the Aqua Teen where originally going to be on SGC2C before they got there own show, I suppose it's cool. It should be painfully funny at the least.
I can imagine meatwad getting dropped already:
:meatwad: What are you doing to me?
:shake: I'm just going to skewer you with a 50 foot pole at midnight!!
:meatwad: Hey! I didn't agree to this!
:shake: Shut up and sit still, I still need to string these christmas lights around you!

A while back, I found an article about Williams Street that actually has some stuff on the original Kentucky Nightmare that this is stemming from. It might be spoilerish, so, um, yeh...
LUCKILY FOR ME THESE troglodytes are frindly. We are working on a script about a group of ill-conceived advertising mascots, anthropomorphic food-item superheroes called the Aqua Teen Hunger Force, who take over Space Ghost's show after he sells it to buy a houseboat. Willis envisions a nightmarish ending in which the consummate evil of corporate marketing is fully revealed. Their leader, Master Shake (essentially a paper cup with eyes and a mouth drawn on; his companions are Frylock and Meatwad), shouts, "Hail, Satan!" and flashes a mind-control hypno-strobe at viewers. Ideas come and are in turn abandoned, At one point the episode closes when the celebrity guest, in this case Willie Nelson, absentmindedly eats the villains after presumably firing up one of his Tijuana cheroots offscreen. In the weeks I am there, the script goes through two, three, seven, nine revisions, and when I leave, it is nowhere near done. Another possible ending showcases the impotence of advertising bluster when the enemy Shake is defeated simply by being spilled: We imagine the chocolate sludge slowly oozing out and a voice screaming in agony as if were being horribly disemboweled.
The article's by Todd Hanson and can be found here (http://www.geocities.com/ghost1_1340/oxfordarticle.html).

HAHA, dropping meatwad instead of a ball, that's going to be history. Now will it actually be Carl and Brak in the flesh or will it be animated over?

Carl in the flesh would be great, I wonder who would play him?

Awesome! I agree that pairing Carl and Brak will be kind of odd, but on the other hand, just think of how Carl's going to react to Brak's singing and stupidity. That, plus Meatwad complaining about being placed up on a pole, plus a (finally!) new Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast... I'm drueling already. Well, not really.
Anyways, they couldn't have possibly made a better choice. Not having any anime or 30-minute comedy shows kind of sucks, but oh well. Hopefully they'll at least mention that there are other shows on the block. And hopefully if they do it won't end up like this:
"But these aren't the only shows we're going to have! We also have other shows like Futurama, Futurama, Futurama, Futurama, and did I mention that Futurama is a critically acclaimed show coming to Adult Swim this January?"

Yah, the schedule sucks, but I'll watch it just to see Carl and Brak along with Meatwad.
Boooooooring. And Meatwad now has a real reason to call a social worker.

I'm don't think Meatwad will be "dropped". I think Shake will probably just push him off a diving board or something.
Sounds fun. I'm definately watching.

NEW SPACE GHOST! CLASSIC ROCK! YES!
I wondered if anybody would bring up the Oxford American article...every time ANYBODY says "ATHF Origin," I immediately think of Frylock with flashing "hypno eyes" saying "Hail Satan!" They darn well BETTER have that in the new ep.
Carl & Brak...meh. Not the best pairing. Maybe we'll have special guests to stir things up. For some reason, a party on the scale of Times Square seems to be the natural home of Moon People...
