For those that don't know, a lucid dreamer is a person that can control thier dreams. I am not a lucid dreamer, but sometimes if I have the same dream over and over again, I can control it.

Are you a lucid dreamer?

Sometimes, but not always. I often find myself in control once I realise that it's a dream... though by that stage I'm usually on the verge of waking up anyway. The extent of control is usually limited to changing the setting.

Not yet, but it's something I'm working on. Shoot, right now I'm just trying to get a little bit more clarity from my dreams... :)

Sort of... a couple times I've had a fully lucid dream where I've been able to control what happens and such, but other times it's only a partial lucid dream. Last Wednesday for example, I was watching the Birds of Prey rerun and started dozing off but I could still hear it while I was dream, then while I was dreaming I realized I was missing BoP and was able to wake myself up.

I have probability control

No. I believe that you can only have control over a dream by making yourself wake up, which does not really count as the same thing.

The only thing I have control of is walking around and talking in my dreams, I can't really control too much though. I do somethimes think about something in my dreams and then it may happen, but it's usually something small.

Thankfully no and I won't miss it if it never happens again.

Last time I had one of those frelling dreamds I made this thread. (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43371&perpage=20&highlight=sleep%20paralysis&pagenumber=2) A situation I'd rather avoid ever happing ever again.

Nope, although I've had a few, I don't think anybody is naturally, though there's a friend of mine that has been trying to become one. I imagine being in complete control of your dreams would be pretty awesome, it'd be like having completely control of the world. Nice power fantasy, even if that's all it is.

Are you kidding? I'm barely even lucid when I'm awake:D.

I lucid dream every couple months or so, but my degree of control isn't all that great. Some of the time I wake up shortly after realizing that I'm dreaming and some of the time the dream tricks me back into thinking it's reality (ie. slip out of lucid dream into regular dream again). I usually figure out that I'm dreaming when gravity starts acting all wonky.

Somtimes. It was easier when I was younger and could remember more of my dreams. Now I'm remembering less, so I am unsure if I am lucid dreaming or not! :)

However, I can do this when I come back from class and take a nap. I can curl up, think of what I want to dream, dream something like what I wanted, and then adjust it. But that's not so much anymore.

I remember specifically that I realized I was in a dream, so I decided to fly (real original right....) so I did. I woke up soon after.

Sometimes. I know that I'm dreaming if I'm out of place (i.e. I'm at class during night time) or if my teeth fall out. (This is a reoccuring dream for me, and I dream about this so often, it turned into a cue for me.) When I do know I'm dreaming, I go shoplifting. (There is something wrong w/ my subconscious.)

Sometimes, but hardly ever, I usually have a bunch of freaky crap happen in my dreams and crap that doesn't make sense.

I've had bad dreams before and actually imagined seeing it on a tv and changing the channel, so, sometimes I am. :)

no way. when I'm asleep my conscious mind just turns off. I never even knew controlling dreams was possible.

I never knew until I did it once and then read about it in a book about dreaming and dreams. It's very rare though.

I almost always have a slight degree of control in my dreams without ever having to enter an explicit Lucid Dream state. Usually it's just a matter of deciding where I want to go, or choosing between paths, then letting the dream continue on its own.

But, partial control is typically very different from full control. Generally, the Lucid Dream state is far more, umm... lucid than the average dream. Experiences within this state would be indistinguishable from reality, if not for the conscious knowledge that it's a dream. But, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Lucid dreaming is one step away from waking up, and while things may be incredibly real, I find that the "partial control" dreams are much more interesting and last significantly longer. In the event that I accidentally enter an interesting lucid dream, I'll usually try to slip back into partial consciousness just to keep from waking up.

Furthermore, many of my partial consciousness / partial control dreams are often just as realistic as the lucid dreams, so unless I have anything specific on my mind that I wish to visually clarify, I'll usually stick to regular dreaming.

I can consciously make myself continue dreams in segments... surely that counts for something. Like, I can have a dream, wake up, go back to bed again, think about the dream, and the next dream will pick up where the last one left off.

i sometimes have lucid dreams

to all of you who do:

what do you do before bedtime to get yourself more probable to have a lucid dream?

i can't seem to find a good system/rythem to have them on a regular or even semi-regular basis

also heres an extra question:

whats the coolest thing you've ever done in a lucid dream?

for me, in a dream once my friend was shot and I became so mad that I realized i had no idea who the guy was-- and then i realized it was a dream. I became Superman and took the thugs who shot my friend to school :)

When I was younger, I had lucid dreams with such regularity that it wasn't even a novelty anymore. I developed complete and total control over everything, which got old faster than you might think. I never did it within an unconcious state, though... I had to realize that I was dreaming in order to manipulate the environment and whatnot. I was pretty good at it, but I haven't really dreamed in a while.

I used to talk people in my lucid dreams a lot. It's a blast, because essentially, you're speaking to yourself, or rather, a part of you... but a good deal of these people were in no way like me. I used to wonder what part of my brain they came from.

No, and I wouldn't know how. Wish I could, though.
