Well, I think my cat is dying. If he's not dying, he's suffering. He's dropped several pounds, and for a cat that's a lot. He won't eat, use the litter box, and stays away from everyone. I don't want him to suffer, but I can't find it in my heart to put him to sleep. I'm praying for a drastic change, but I don't see it happening...

One of my cat's had similar problems awhile back. He couldn't eat because he had an abcessed tooth so he lost quite a bit of wait and such, we eventually had to get him put to sleep I think because we went way too long without taking him to the vet. I'd suggest going ASAP.

That's the thing- he was at the vet for four days two weeks ago. They siad he was fine, but I beg to differ...

Have you tried using different catfood? We used to use a catfood that we found out they usually puked up more than digested.

Yeah, he won't eat dry food, and eats very little "wet" food. I gave him tuna and he ate a little but not very much...

Awww man, I don't know what to say...I hope your cat gets better, though. Maybe he/she is just sick at the moment, and it's just a passing thing. Is that a possibility at all?

I'm sorry :( I hope you can figure out the problem. As I am also owned by a cat I feel for you.

That's very sad. There seems to be many people I know suffering from ill animals, I had a colleague who went home this week for a pet death. I hope there is a chance of a change in fortune.

Geez...this sucks.
I completely understand what you're all going through, as I think any pet owner does. Trent, maybe you should bring your cat to another vet for a second opinion. If he's really not doing well, it couldn't hurt.
I think having a pet can be one of the most sastifying things a person can experience, though. They accept you, offer comfort and company and love...lot's and lots of love. The hard part is watching them go when their time comes...
Be strong ;)

I'm sorry hon. Is it possible your cat is allergic to something? Mine has allergies to a couple different things, and suffers from the same symptoms when she's going through it. Only with the fleas, she looses hair as well.
Perhaps you should check all over his skin, fleas or bugs like to bite by the tail, and the back of the neck.
I hope he feels better soon. *HUG*

So true. I found out today that my cat Sox will be put to sleep this weekend. I'm a mess, I'm having a pretty hard time just getting this down. He's got some kind of liver failure, and he can't even walk now without hurting. I know it's best for him, but it doesn't make it any easier for me. Selfish, I know, but that's how I feel...

Wow, it certainly has been a lousy week for our pets, huh? We'll be praying and thinking of you. It hardly seems fair, what with our pets loving us unconditionally and treating us better than most people. I don't know if you want to go to any more options, but a few vets will offer pet hospice treatment instead of putting the animal down. The pets get pain meds, you get to keep them at home, they sleep through it, and when they do go you have the comfort that nature did the deed, not a person. Just a thought. Anyhow, we're here for you.

Sadly, I came home this afternoon to find my cat dead under my bed. I freaked out, not so much cause he was dead but his eyes were looking right into mine when I found him. I guess it's for the best, but it still hurts...

It probably is for the best.....as The Old Maid said, it's better to know that Sox went naturally. I'm sorry. :( We're all here for you if you need us. If you need a shoulder to cry on, there are over 3,000 shoulders here for you.

Well, I finally calmed myself down a bit. Here's a picture I took for Photo 1 a month ago, the last I have of him:
