Which ASA has the best dubbed?

Cowboy Bebop for me. Seriously, everyone on the anime sounds perfect for them. This is the first anime who i agreed that it's the same score as the subbed.

Bebop has the best anime dub out there, barely beating Hellsing, Big O, and uncut Outlaw Star.

Koopas right, many say the dub of Bebop is as good, if not better, than the original Japanese.

I don't know about BETTER, but a good enough that many subtitle purists are willing to watch the dub. Bebop is such a visually great series that it really deserves a top-notch dub so that your eyes can be concentrating on the visuals and not the subtitles.

Cowboy Bebop is definitely my favorite. Coming up close behind is The Big O, which from a voice-actoring perspective I feel is just as good (and in fact it shares at least two VAs that I know of with Bebop, Spike = Roger = David Lucas and Faye = Angel = Wendee Lee), but from a translation perspective CB edges it out because of a few nitpicky changes in The Big O's dub, most of them having to do with the series' religious references.

Definitely Bebop. No contest.

Cowboy Bebop.... One of the worst series ever made in the history of Japese Animation....J/K

Cowboy Bebop. But I'd expect Big O to take that title once it airs.

Best Adult Swim Action show is Cowboy Bebop... Best anime dub IMO is Hellsing.

Cowboy Bebop is the best dubbed Anime...and the only dub that i think is better than its Japanese counterpart. Vash's va in english is better than his Japanese, but the rest of the cast isn;t as good as Bebop where every voice is just about perfect.

Hellsing wasn;t the best dub...since it was based in england they had people with english accents and that made it sound more realistic...but i wouldn't go as far and say it was the best Dub...its good...but not the best.

There are three I find to be very good dubs. Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Inu-Yasha.

Cowboy Bebop is definately hands-down the best dubbed anime out there right now. The dialogue matches the mouth, and the word rearrangement is perfect.

My favorite has to be "Cowboy Bebop" with "Trigun" coming in a very close second. (The guy they got to do Vash for the dub is perfect for the part. He even does Vash's whine the same way!)

Well, I'm in the minority, but surprisingly I found the Perfect Blue dub to be the best anime dub. The main character (sorry, brain's fried from exam crunch) had a few lines that didn't sound natural, but the rest was actually quite good.

IMO, Cowboy Bebop is merely OK, Outlaw Star is OK outside of Jim, Yuu Yuu Hakusho needs some work (Botan, Koenma, and Kuwabara need new voices), and Inu-Yasha's dub just plain sucks. So, to answer your question, I guess Bebop has the best dub on ASA.

Cowboy Bebop and possibly Outlaw Star.

Best dubbed anime on Adult Swim Action:

Cowboy Bebop, of course. :D

I would also count Outlaw Star (if CN would have made that show one of the original ASA cartoons rather than a Toonami cartoon. To me, it doesn't fit, because no matter how much CN can edit it to make it for kids, it's still too dark and violent even for them).

But Adult Swim didn't exist when they acquired it. The show aired in January 2001, and it probably took them a few months to edit it. So in late 2000 (or even mid-2000), they had the rights to the show. While I'm sure an *idea* that something like Adult Swim might exist, it was too much of a pipe dream at the time for the network to go "hmmm...we should hold out on this show until this "adult" block comes into existence.

Besides that, the show would still need a fair amount of edits, even for TV-14 standards. More than Bebop did, anyway.

how come there's no Inuyasha vote? i mean, i'm okay with Inuyasha's VA. in the beginning of the series, i thought that Kagome's VA doesn't really fit her that much, but now, i got used to it and like it.

That's the thing--you had to get used to it. A lot of fans of dubbed anime tend to hate a voice at first, and then "get used to it." The problem is, they mistake their "getting used to it" with "their performance is getting better." Kagome's performance isn't any better now than it was in episode 1. We've just heard it so much that we've gotten used to it, that's all. I'll bet that if you watch episode 1 now, you'll find that you can tolerate the once "horrible" voice of Kagome.

The only dub I that comes to mind that's *really* gotten better is DBZ. Watch any episode coming on this week, for example, and then watch one of the episodes on the Captain Ginyu discs. You'll notice a BIG difference. Same voice actors, it's just that they didn't know what they were doing during season 3.

I think the Saturday night ASA has the best dub.

Well, that is what you asked! :p

Seriously though, Bebop has an awesome dub. All of the dubs I've seen on ASA are really great, but Bebop takes the cake.

In my book, the thing that subtracts from the Inuyasha dub's score is the mispronounciations: Mir-ROW-ku (should be Me-ro-ku) Na-RAK-u (Nara-ku), Ship-o (She-po), Kai-ay-day (Kai-day), Tet-sai-ga (Tes-siaga), SHE-kon (Shi-kon) and Ki-ki-yo (Kek-yo). But then again, that's just me.

That may be, but the Dub on the Hellsing DVDs, beat out the sub version by FAR. This is not to praise the dub, which IMHO, is a fine dub job, though Crispian Freeman doesn't quite capture the LEVEL of psychoticness of Alucard as his Japanese counterpart, Joji Nakata. However, whomever subbed Hellsing for Pioneer was on drugs, I swear. The failed to correctly sub the Hellsing Organizations ritual prayer: "In the name of God, impure souls of the Living Dead shall be vanished into eternal damnnation. Amen." AND THAT WAS IN THE OPENING CREDITS, IN ENGLISH ON JAPANESE TV!!!!! ARGH!!

Gomen. Gomen. Settling down now. Grabbing dip.

Now I'm not a sub/dub purist, but I do prefer subs to dubs. However, only a few series make me perfer the dub to the sub. None of them are on ASA at the moment, however. Of the ASA shows, I'd say Bebop was the best with later episodes of IY not far behind.

BTW, the best person dub ever, in my opinon, was Cathy Weseluck as "Shampoo" from Ranma 1/2. Play her voice to voice against the japanese version, and you are hard pressed to tell the difference.

I'm sorry for any confusion about that and I somewhat agree with you. But still, if Outlaw Star wasn't on Toonami, it would have been better off on Adult Swim when it first started...and even if there was no AS, it would just be on late at night.
