Well, who here has pets? My family has three cats: Scamper, Skippy, and Queeny, and a Basset Hound named Toby. Who else has pets?

me me me!!! Three pets, and a pet-in-law :D Family Dog: Charlie. A female German Shepherd/Keshound. 9 years old, loveable and overly excited all the time. Grandma's Cat: Sheba. Big fat female Tabby cat. 10 years old, mean almost 24/7. My Kitten: Binkers, aka Binky, aka Bink, aka Killer, aka "Spot". A female Bengal. 3 years old, hyper as hell, wreaks havoc one moment and is curled up sleeping or kneading you the next...then goes back to scratching and attacking "playfully". My sister's and bro in law's puppy: Toby. Male Shiba Inu. Just disgustingly cute. 6 months old, very intelligent, and has the coolest curly tail!!!

My family has way too many pets! :) We have 22 cockatiels, 2 parakeets, and a conure. Most of them are kept in the basement apartment (our house is a duplex), and some of the younger ones are kept on the main floor.
I enjoy the company of the cockatiels, but it was never my idea to get this many of them. My dad's girlfriend Natalie is the one who got them all. Dad keeps telling her when she gets one that they won't get anymore, but he never has the balls to stick to it. And they wonder why we get sick birds so often.

We've had eight pets over my 23 years of life. Let's go through the list:
"Happy", our original dog, and he was around before I was born. He was a typical Siberian Husky and was around until I was 4. I don't remember a helluva lot about him, though.
Then we had a huge gap until 1994, when we started our gerbil kingdom. All of them turned out to be girls. Alex & Andy were our first pair, and they lasted three years. Then came Allovera and Holly; the latter of which was a bit of a freak, as she eat her leg at some point. What's unbelievable was that we think it was cancerous - and she lived a full year after that.
Our current pair of gerbils are Autumn and Aeris, and THEIR pet is our current dog, Juneau, also a Siberian Husky. He's about 6.5 years old right now, and counting. And, coincidentally, like our gerbils, he's now also missing a leg. But we still love them all the same. :)

I used to keep gerbils too, and they are the absolute most psycho animals on the face of this earth. Some of the stuff they do...ugh!
Right now I have one dog, a golden retriever named Rusty.

What a coincidence. Just over a year ago I wrote a story that featured a golden retriever whose owner was a boy NAMED Rusty. :) It's like deja vu, all over again.

My family currently has one pet, perhaps one too many. It gets people excited for no reason, and is a waste of time and money. It is a dog, by the way.

I've had 5 cats, 2 birds, and countless fish (prizes).
Don't remember much about the fish or the birds.
Adrian- The first cat, we had it until it died when I was about 5
PJ- Don't remember much about him, we only had him for a little while but got hit by a car on the highway
Max- My favorite cat, he was so lovable but one day in January, he got hit by a car by the house, I'm sill sad about it
Ricky- My sisters cat, named because she used to be Ricocheting all around the rooms, now she is lazy
Sylvestor- Finally, my very own cat, he almost looks exactly like Sylvestor the cat on Looney Tunes so I named him that

Mainly two. Lucky's a white German shepherd. She's getting old, but still a puppy at heart, a giant puppy. :p Then there's Spunky the housecat. She's disgustingly clean and vain, and despite her snotty attitude she's a sweet cat. :) My sister's got two dwarf hamsters who are still alive surprisingly. They should be kicking the bucket soon, but they sure don't like they will be. There's also some goldfish in the pond that runs along the front of my house.

Lai-Shi: Ger. Shepard/ doberman mix
Pompom: multicolored pom
the dearly deceased:
Curly: He's my favorite. I still think of him.
Lucky: This maltese was so stubborn and he had the worst BO! But I still miss him.
Shobi: My earliest memory.

1 Dog.
Name: Casey or K.C.
Breed: German Shepard mixed with a Roc
He's so smart, he knows how to open doors, ring the door bell when he's ready to come in and he knows how to walk himself. However with the leash laws in Chicago I'm not suposed to let him do that.

I've got one cat. She's 19 years old, a fluffy tabby, named Gypsy.
(She's my 4th cat. Previously we had Berkely and Patch, 2 cats we found in the barn on our farm, and Stranger, a stray black cat who I adopted after finding him in our back yard in the dead of winter.)

Well a update is needed... I am one pet shorter now. After I posted this I checked my e-mail and got a letter from my dad saying my dog Kelly died Tuesday night. I am so sad, I have been bauling for a day straight, more or less... I know it was his time and all, he just had his 13th birthday Jan. 7th, but I still miss him... I am so pissed that I'm off at college and had to have dad watch his because my apartment won't let me have pets, I haven't seen him for a while and that fact makes me so mad!
I loved that dog, he could do it all, play frisbee, do tricks, and even play soccer. And he loved to chase the cows, we should've taught his to herd them, he would've been great at it... and man was he a beautiful animal, but he did have that weird one ear flappy thing... he always looked like such a puppy. Oh boy, here comes the waterworks again... thanks for being here to let me vent and talk about him... I know this thread wasn't for this topic, but thanks. I think I'll go home this weekend to see my other babies, and wish for graduation to come soon so I can get a place that will let me keep them here... See ya.

I am on my thirrd Rat, I name all my rats "Wilkinson" (Sandman comic book reference) and give them varying nicknames. Willy and Wilky were the first two and the one I have now was for awhile nick-named "Sonny", but due to circumstances to lengthy to explain is now called Sun-hi Yoji.
I also have a cat (who is more afraid of the rat than vice-versa).
His name is Sergio, after Sergio Aragones, because he's a funny creature whose accent I don't understand and has a black mark near his nose that makes it look like he has half a mustache.

I've got four gold dust day geckos, three of which are named after thier physical scars or deformities: Stubby (who lost his tail at a young age, and when it grew back, it was short and stubby), Scarface (who's got a fight scar on her face), Wobbly Butt (who was hatched with a deformed back hip, and thus her butt wobbles around when she walks), and Goldie.
I also have a dog named Teela - she's a beagle terrier mix, with great big ears that make her look like Gizmo from the Gremlins movies.

I don't have my own pet, but my old fondness for cats and the sudden dreams a life after uni are spuring desires for my own claw monster.
In the meantime, the family have a hyper intelligent King Charles named Rodney, who is very cute and spoilt and a hyper stupid greyhound called Louis, who can run across the beach like lightning. Impressive to see, not to converse with....

Okay, couldn't resist. The family dog, spoilt and way too intelligent (often challenging my quota of sparks), Rodney.
This little monster (or 'little mon') is not only cute, but extremely independant - unusual for a dog. He loves little games of 'chase me carrying my furry bone around the coffee table' which is a killer for my back...

I think he is deliberation whether to sit like good boy until I realise I should be getting him a juicy bit of steak, or whether I'm too stupid to make that jump in logic and give me a good yap.
Probably the latter... :)
