What does your Toonzone name mean, or why did you give that name to yourself?
jeffrey 228
12-10-2002, 03:27 AM
The reason I game my name Jeffrey 228, is because I needed to make sure the people know my name and that also the 228 aways reminds me of my birthday every time I look at it.

I've used this name from the start of my regular net exploring. I wanted something unique but something that would not likely be duplicated very soon even after people saw my name. :)

zmanjz

<Spoken in an overbearing meglomaniac's voice... >
i... am.... THE Z-MAN!!!!
why?
It's because my last name is not pronounceable to "normal" humans and their "normal" canines.
So... I... become... THE Z-MAN!!!!! <insert thunder and lightning>
...
<normal voice>
but that was already taken on most boards so I just added my initials to the end.
<Back to ranting voice>
JZ IN THE HIZZOUSE <slaps him self... "too... many... Zs">
and so Breakfast is served.

I just sort of randomly picked it when registering. I go by another name on several other forums, but wanted something different, so this just popped into my head somehow. Yeah, what a tale.
Outlander00
12-10-2002, 08:02 AM
Mine came from when I attempted to write SW fiction when I was in High School (basically when I was young and dumb). I developed it to a point but lost interet in finishing it... However the name always stuck and used it. I throw in the 00 because I always find that Outlander is always used, so I tacked on 00 :p
James

It sort of stands for my name.... sort of, not quite...

JohnCrichton
12-10-2002, 10:11 AM
Farscape front man and "astronaut!" Since it's been cancelled you'll probably never know, the wonders he's seen.
My user name used to be "My name's JohnCrichton, an astronaut!" but that was too long once I came to these boards.

SpikeJet143 = I love Spike Spiegel and Jet Black from "Cowboy Bebop" :) Boo-yaah!
gtracer72
12-10-2002, 11:16 AM
Well, I love cars so thats how I chose my name. I'll break it down for you all:
gt=Grand Touring
racer
72= my car number when I join the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America).
:D
Dark Spider
12-10-2002, 12:11 PM
Well, at other message boards, I usually call myself Liquid Spider. I made up that name based on the naming system from Metal Gear Solid where they take an animal's name and add a random cool sounding adjective to it (Solid Snake, Sniper Wolf, etc). When I came to TZ, I wanted a cooler sounding name, and since I like dark things, I came up with Dark Spider....and here I am today. I think it sounds pretty cool...
TimTwoFace
12-10-2002, 12:18 PM
I got my "Two-Face" moniker in high school in 1995 when I wore a self-made Two-Face costume based on the BATMAN FOREVER design for Halloween. (Ironically, the video release of that movie was also on Halloween that year.) Everyone loved it for some reason, and the nickname stuck - I then adopted the pen name "Tim TWO-FACE Leighton" when I wrote for the school paper the following year, used the same nickname when I started up my newsletter in '98, and it's stuck ever since.
Nothing really creative, but hey, it works.
-Tim
Jade_GL
12-10-2002, 12:24 PM
My name is Jade_Gl, and it meaning is pretty simple.
I love Jade, a character from Green Lantern comics, well that's where she is monthy right now at least. She was a Green Lantern for a short amount of time. When I made this name, it was before she got her Jade powers back, so I just called her Jade_GL, kind of like a shortened, Jade the Green Lantern.
:)
Trent Lane
12-10-2002, 01:10 PM
After one of the greatest shows ever, Daria, and one of the best characters ever, Trent Lane. Simple enough....
Lightwave
12-10-2002, 03:19 PM
Well, I chose hyperknux88 for some wierd reason. I changed my name to Lightwave, and I thought it was cool. I WANT the name Puck, but I already used my name change for this year. :p
Brainatra
12-10-2002, 03:55 PM
... comes from the PatB episode "Brain's Way", where the Brain in early 60's Vegas becomes the headline singer for his casino ("Brain's Palace"), and gains fame as the crooner "Brainatra." Hit albums of his included "Swingin' World Domination Hits" and "Ol' Pink Eyes Is Back"...
Why I chose it: wanted something A!/PatB related at the time (when the shows were still on KWB), I didn't want to use my real name, and I liked the episode.
-B.
My e-mail identity at Yahoo has been "caughtinadream" for a long time, and I use CaughtInADream18 as my AIM nickname (it's the name of an Alice Cooper song, btw). I liked the name, but when I joined Toon Zone, I wanted something that sounded more lilke a name.
Although I'm not Catholic (I was raised Catholic but am now Wiccan), I enjoy the novels of Andrew M. Greeley. At the end of one of his books, "Lord of the Dance," you'll find a poem/blessing, which he titled Avran (there's no explanation as to why), and I really liked it. So when I was registering here, and was trying to think of a new nickname, Avran came to mind.

Goooooood question...
Well, an old custom user title of mine said, "I am WORTH NOTHING!!!". Hey, it's true. :bosko:
Patrick Bateman
12-10-2002, 04:33 PM
I chose to name mine after one of my favorite Bat-stories because, well, all the good names were taken when I got here.
Viper
12-10-2002, 05:28 PM
Well, I chose this name off the top of my head. It's the name of the female character on Jackie Chan Adventures. (Her picture is my avatar.) She's a former crook, now a member of the J-Team.
However, my real name is Erik and in the yahoo groups I call myself erikz72. That's my first name, last name initial, and birthyear. Just so you don't keep mistaking me for a she.
Barb Gordon
12-10-2002, 05:56 PM
Barbara Gordon is one of the most incredible female characters in comic history. She's beautiful, intelligent, strong/athletic and courageous. She's had one heck of an amazing history...and has Dick Grayson wrapped around her little finger. I greatly admire everything she is. At the WF boards when they first started my name was Oracle. But felt it was more fun to go to a more personal level with Barb Gordon.
~Barb
Parallax
12-10-2002, 06:25 PM
Since Gogeta is my favorite charcther I used his name and made it Super Saijan 4.
Storm
12-10-2002, 06:37 PM
Storm is one of the most popular and fantastic comic female heroines in comics today. Ororo Monroe is more than just a "black hero". Her history is so rich and she isn't afraid to so her deepest emotions. The windrider is honored by many africian american comic readers cause she shows that she's not in the X-men to have a token black hero but she's there cause she's a strong and independent character with so many great traits and she has the best mutant power :D
Oh yeah 12 is for the day I was born and 88 is for the year I was born: February 12th, 1988 ;)
All together you get: Storm1288
FEAR THE GODDESS!!!!!!

Marklar
12-10-2002, 06:55 PM
For the longest time my AIM name and email address were TheGreatMarklar, but I thought that sounded a little too boastful so I shortened it to Marklar. In the South Park episode "Starvin Marvin in Space," Marvin and the boys travel to the planet Marklar where the natives, or marklars, replace every noun, or marklar, with the word marklar. Basically, it's an all purpose name that could mean anything. I tried to talk using Marklar as a replacement for all nouns for a while, but it was way too hard.
I'm a big Simpsons fan and even though Comic Book Guy is not my favorite simpsons character, I think his sarcasim is freaking hilarious. Not to be confuse as me coming off as a comic book know it all as most people might think. I just thought the name was catchty.
Kuja's Light
12-10-2002, 07:57 PM
I like DBZ for one. And Ro is a character from a DB series that I thought up that I'd like too be made.
Thundercleese
12-10-2002, 08:08 PM
Thundercleese= kickass robot from The Brak Show
Cogliostro
12-10-2002, 08:49 PM
My name well first off I choose it cause I wanted to have a name that others wouldn't try to duplicate and be a character I like and low and behold Cogliostro came about. Who is Cogliostro (aka Cog. or Old Man)? Cog is a character from the Spawn comic he was once a HellSpawn and now is a somewhat mentor to the current Spawn (Al Simmons). I'm even more glad I choose this name cause now (I'm using Spoilers cause some people might read Spawn) Cog. has become the Ruler of Hell. Sure he betrayed Spawn but I still like him. Now if I could only find or get someone to make a avatar of him ;) To see Cog. check out the Spawn comic (He's not in every one but he is in a lot), Spawn the Movie (This isn't a great movie and doesn't potray anything Spawn as good as in the comic or cartoon) or the one I recommend the most Spawn The Animated Series (This is a more mature cartoon so don't say I didn't warn you.) That's about all I can say...
lupin the 3rd
12-10-2002, 09:09 PM

SilverKnight
12-10-2002, 09:33 PM
Interesting story.
Well, not really, but who really gives a rat's...yeah.
See, I wanted something that sounded like Batman's cool side-moniker, the Dark Knight, but seriously, how often is that one used? But, I still liked the word "Knight", because Knight's are cool and it just sounds important and shiny and stuff. So, I remembered playing a game called Shining Force, and playing a stage boss-ish monster called the "Silver Knight". It was cool, because 1) It's probably my favorite fight of the game, 2) The Silver Knight was shiny, and 3) He was weaker than hell and easy to beat. And I wanted a name no one would steal.
So, wham, bam, thank you ma'am, there's how my name came about. SilverKnight. Note, that's SilverKnight, not Silver Knight. No space. One word. I'm not really annoyed by it, just look at how I write it; there's a reason. :D >gives people cookies< So there.
Mr Cod is my email address and my online name in chats back in the day (98) but then people started calling me Fish or Fishy for short in chats so it stuck.
Mr. Cod is the mayor in an underwater city I made up in 8th grade while bored - originally it was Mr. Salomon, but it was too long so Cod was better imo

Good Ol' Batmanuel!
12-10-2002, 09:48 PM
Back when I was known as I Hate Batmanuel!, I made this thread (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47873&highlight=regret+username). It explains the whole thing and prompted some interesting stories! :)
Meson
12-10-2002, 09:58 PM
mesons are sub-atomic particles that bind protons and neutrons in atomic nuclei together, though they can be found roaming indenpently.
I took the name for my love of astonomy and science fiction, and it was the only science related nick name not used when I first come online. (There is one other who uses the Meson name I have since discovered). I use this nick everywhere I go.
Taiso
12-10-2002, 10:34 PM
I got mine from the character Taiso in Giant Robo (as portrayed in my av:))
I've been called that by a lot of my friends since I was around 16, and it's just stuck with me really.

JDNobodi
12-11-2002, 05:25 AM
I wanted a name that was recognizable yet different. I also felt like an outsider. I first thought of Mr Nobody, but a local car dealership uses that name. So I added the initials from Jon Doe and changed the y into an i. I use the name for my EM address too.
Cool, new smiles, :tom: :harley: :moon2:
sandwichman
12-11-2002, 05:23 PM

People were torturing me. I had to aquire demonic skills in order to survive. Hence, Desdiablo.
panther3751
12-12-2002, 01:06 PM
I picked this name a long time ago, and so by now it's my trademark. I'm always this name or pantherdragon3751 on chats/messageboards/email.
It started with my obsession with felines in general. . . . . furry tendences at age 7. ^_^;; The title "panther" was my gaming callsign, so I adopted it when I created my first message board account my freshman year of highschool. Dragon is added by default, as I also feel very draconic. (I like panthers. . . . I am a panther! Erp, or am I a dragon? Or at least a pantherdragon. . . .)
The 3751 always follow after any alias I use. Those numbers are highly significant to me, and therefore I always use them. Therefore, you'll see panther3751, pantherdragon3751, as well as undercover aliases like alcestiswizard3751 and newvision3751. =^.^=
Cyber E.
12-12-2002, 03:33 PM
-Cyber E. : for awhile I had the name "Cyber E." which was short for the "The Cyber Emperor of the Internet". O_o
-The Venom : My current name, when I decided it was time for a change I randomly picked a villain from Spider-Man and the Venom came to mind.
-Aria J. Behfar : My real (and next ToonZone) name. Didn't you hear? All the cool kids have there real names. O_o
Beatdigga's is the name of an independent rap label a friend of mine started. So, here I am.
Discloner
12-13-2002, 09:29 AM
It’s a REAAAAALLLLY long story, so I’ll make it short.
When I was in 7th grade…some 5 years ago, my friend and I were walking to gym, when we saw one of our teachers yelling at a student for running. We went down the hall, turned the corner, and there she was again! That year was a big year for research in cloning so we teased the fact that she was in two places at once by saying she was a clone. As the year progressed, I started writing a stupid little story about kids who fight the clones…kinda a spoof on my favorite series at the time, Animorphs. I named the story The Discloners. I later abandoned my story, but continued the tradition of our 7th grade joke, by getting a yahoo account under the name Discloner. Over the past 4 or 5 years that I’ve had that e-mail address, I have used it for all my on-line screen names (to help me remember it at first, then because it was tradition). To this day, I have Discloner (with maybe a number) on many of accounts ranging from my Homestead account to my AIM account (Discloner2).
Yea I know I said I’d make it short……..And it is, You probably don’t want to see the long story…but this is why I have this name (plus people will recognize me when I go to different places on the web if I keep the same name)
:tom:

Mackenzie Rainelle
12-13-2002, 10:12 PM
Mackenzie Rainelle Grahl (pronounced "Grail") was a character I came up with for a joint story that Jess Ratte and I were messin' around with. Basically, she was an anthropomorphic squirrel living in our world's version of Manhattan, with a gothic/hippy style, who took disturbing pictures, wrote poems to act as captions, and sold them to galleries as her day job.
Ordinary Guy
12-13-2002, 11:29 PM
When I joined Toonzone I just finished watching The Planet of the Superheroes episode of Darkwing Duck were the villians name was Ordinary Guy, and I thought. Hem, Ordinary Guy that's a cool alias.
Since then it's stuck with me, everytime I meet someone new, and they want to know something about me I tell them I'm an Ordinary Guy.
