Guys, this isn't "Adult Swim Zone". It's Toon Zone. It'd be selfish to want EVERY SINGLE character made into an emoticon. I decided to only take two characters from each show (with the exception of ATHF, because I knew that the Mooninites would be heavily requested).

As far as ASA goes, I don't think I'd be able to convert anime characters into smilies, in the small area I'm given (within 19x19 or 25x19). If someone else wants to give it a try, then whatever. Sure.

I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but I'm not sure I really like the idea. I'm guessing these things are going to be used WAY to often and this board, and will become more of an annoyance than a novelty. I say we already have most of the basic emotions covered in the "smilies" and don't really need these. Sure, they add some character to certain posts, and are cute at first, but I'm guessing they're going to become tiresome very quickly.

Sigh...well, anyway, they look good.

I think some of you guys need to show a little more gratitude. Matt takes some of his own precious time to make a little Christmas present for all the loyal Toon Zone folks without asking for anything in return, and all you can say is, "Where's McGuirk? Where's the anime characters?"?!?!

How about, "Gee, Matt, those are really cool, thank you for doing this nice thing for us. I like them so much that I think it would be really cool if you had time to make more, like McGuirk or maybe some Adult Swim Action characters. What program did you use to make them? Maybe I'll try to make some myself. Anyway, thanks for being such a cool guy and giving us free stuff."?

They'll be used a lot at first but I don't see them being used more than the others. The Warners and Bosko, for example, have always been used rather lightly on the boards they were made for.

Fair enough. But this board tends to get more..."enthusiastic" newbies than some of the other boards, and I worry that they'll continue to be used for quite a while.

So, these are going to appear on all the Toon Zone boards? Hmm...the amount of AS smilies are almost equal to the total amount of TZ smilies. Does this mean that we'll soon see Toonami smilies on the TZ borads? Comic book ones? Video game ones?

If they are just for the AS board, then disregard this entirely, but if they aren't, then I think this is a legitimate issue to consider.

Okay, so now that I'm sure these are going to be on all the boards, back to my question: Will we now see smilies coming from all the different boards? Are we going to see Toonami smilies? Comic book smilies? Video game smilies? If this does happen won't we become overrun with smilies?

Also, I wasn't trying to do any newbie attacking. We were all newbies once, and I hope I didn't do anything to make any newbies who make an effort to be good contributors to this board feel unwelcome. All I meant by my "enthusiastic" comment was that the AS board tends to get some newcomers that really disregard some of the etiquette rules, moreso than on some of the other boards. I could be wrong, and I could be coming off as really obnoxious (which I really hope I'm not doing), but that's the impression that I get.

My initial comment wasn't supposed to be a complaint, as I did not know about the 2 characters/show thing. It was intended to be just noting that I was surprised that such a popular character would be omitted. I'm sorry if my initial comment made everyone on this board want to blow my brains out for being an ungrateful, whiny SOB, especially the mods. I guess I'd better not come back for a while until everyone forgets about this. I want to put it behind me.

I didn't mean to single you out or put you down, I just know that Matt put some effort into these and I wanted him to get some of the gratitude he deserves. I didn't mean to come across too harsh, and I don't think there's anything wrong with suggesting which characters you think would be nice additions to the new sets. I just think it would be nicer if that suggestion were accompanied by a polite "thank you." Sorry if I came across really harsh on you.
