Let's say you buy your significant other lingere. Who are you really buying it for?

I was wasteing time at Target today when I over heard someone talking about getting a DVD player for their brother because they wanted a DVD player, but couldn't get it right now and could use theirs.

I'll buy movies like this. We'll both want them, so I'll just get them as a gift and it's win win :)

Constantly, like I bought thsi girl Shenmue 2 for her XBox after she got me a game for my Gamecube and now I've been making
all these plans to spend time with her but really only so I can Shenmue 2 Se just said get her a game and I accidentally went shopping for myself. I kept the "Shenmue the movie" DVD that came with the game.

It's not a dog move because we are just friends.

Now I see nothing wrong with keeping something free that came with the item. Think of it as a gift to yourself from yourself.

I did that a few years back. My dad bought a playstation when it first came out as a gift to the family. I was the only one who knew this at the time because I sold it to him. I couldn't think of any gifts to get him. Unitl one day I was at Target and I saw this Playstation entertainment center and I bought it, but passed it off as a gift for my dad.

How can some of you people be so inconsiderate. When buying a gift for someone you get them something THEY want not buy something you want. If you can't afford to get what YOU want well tough luck...You will have to do without it until you can afford it.

It's not a matter of being able to afford the items, it's a matter of having your cake and eat it too.

If A dates B
A and B live together
A buys B a DVD that they both want
A buys DVD as a gift and it basically belongs to A too
A then buys other DVD for A's self that A wants
A has more DVD's

Or, there's always the classic "Homer" - where you buy something for someone which you like, but know they'll never use, and then conveniently "inherit" the item so that it doesn't go to waste ;) .

Homer is the perfect role model :)

I don't think I'll ever eat like Homer though. Imagine what that could do to a person.
