Lefty or Righty?

Which hand do you use to write with? I use my left for writing only. I do most everything else with my right because I'm cool like that :p :rolleyes:

I'm a righty. I can do left if say, I broke my arm, but I favor the right. When I use my left it looks like chicken scratch from a five year old. Why would I know something so random as this? One day, a slow day, in English, Carnage and I decided to make each other switch writing hands being that he's left-handed. Very interesting day that was, our writing was horendous.

Right-handed, and really, really uncoordinated with the left side of my body. Legs, hands, arms, everything. Even my left eye has worse vision than my right. :D

Im generally left handed (usually in writing, drawing, etc). However, I do other things with my right like playing sports (do you know how awkward it is when youre told you cant bat left handed at 8? :p) using a mouse, etc.

In my senior year in college though, I became VERY proficient in drawing with both hands (I was forced to, either that or my professors were gonna flip! :p )

I write left handed and can write quite nicely right handed, but it comes out as a mirror image of my left handed writing. Kind weird, huh?
Most of my fine motor skills are done best with my left, and gross motor skills better with my right, although I can use both in many sports.

Yeah, sorta. I bat right and when I try with the left, it's so sloppy that all it's good for is a laugh! I do shoot left in hockey, though. It makes a difference that I keep the stick low. I think it's when my arms get up high that left becomes clumsy. I only bring the stick back around 2 feet or so, yet I can shoot as hard as the guy with the hardest slapshot in the group I play street hockey with. The advantage to that is that my release is much quicker (and scarier :D) I don't even bother using a slapshot, which is kinda handy.

I did the same thing at a driving range. I've only been twice, so I have absolutely no swinging technique! I just started swinging it the same as I swing a hockey stick. I was only pulling it back a couple of feet, but I hit one around 230 yards. Couldn't do it twice in a row, though. :p

What do you mean? Do they train you to use both hands so that in the future, you can still work if one of your hands is out of commision somehow?

No it was a visualization excercise. We had to draw with our opposite hand to force our brains to react and translate what we saw differently than normal (if i remember the explaination correctly). It was to basically sharpen our visual skills and hand/eye coordination with drawing. We had to do that and do drawing of various times without looking at the paper to improve E/H coordination as well.

They were a pain in the arse, but my drawing skilled improved greatly :p

Though I'm not too horrible with my left hand at writing, I'm not extremely ambidexterous. (did I spell it right? Oh well).

I tend to favor my right hand, simply because most things in society tend to favor the right hand. Things are built for right-handed people.

My parents were so disgusted with me that I was showing "evil" left-handed tendencies :p when I was young, so they forced me to only use my right hand for hand specific tasks.

I guess that makes me right handed.

I'm very ambidexterous. Technically I'm a righty, because I was born a righty, but I broke my right arm when I was 9 and was in a cast for over a year, so I became very good at doing everything with my left hand. Using my left hand became habit for a lot of things, and I've never broken the habits.
