Just yesterday, I was playing a concert (one I was getting paid for I might add) at a local church. We were right in the middle of a song when the fire alarm started going off. It was so loud that we couldn't be heard so we had to stop. The alarm ended up going for about 5 minutes straight. That was unbelievable; I had never had that happen in the 4/5 years I've been playing bass.
Last year at this time, I was playing in the pit of a theatre for a musical show (Pajama Game, if you've ever heard of it). There was one scene in which there was a sort of union picnic and the featured act was a knife-throwing act. It wasn't real, in case you were wondering we are just high-schoolers after all. Anyways, the "knife-thrower" was supposed to knock an apple off a volunteer's head. Sure, it went fine for the first couple of times until the apple fell into the orchestra pit! The cast had to improve some lines until we retrieved it. And guess who had to throw it back up onto the stage.....yep, it was me. After that happened, the volunteer (a female, BTW) improved a line saying "You (referring to another cast member) and YOU (referring to me) stay out of this!"
Okay, now that you've listened to my stories, I want to hear yours. If you have any story that is just strange, bizarre, comical or just plain out of the ordinary, post it.

This isn't really a dream, per se, so it counts:
When I was about eight or nine, my dad said that one night he heard me laughing really loud in my sleep. So loud he had to wake me up and ask what I was doing. I just smiled and said(My brother is named Patrick):"Patrick was stuck in ice." and fell back asleep.
It does sound pretty funny.:p

a couple of months ago i was in a play in a church. It was a play about the Jesus and how he would come to save everyone, well when Jesus appears to the people we had 2 smokemachines going to fill the stage with smoke, well the fire alarm went off, fortunally it wasnt horribly loud so we could still go on, but we where all scared that some fireman would burst in through the doors screaming to get the heck out, i think thats the only story that i have so im done.

One strange thing that happened to me that I am still unable to wrap my head around occured during the Gulf War incident. I was just a teen, working my first job, and there was talk of a draft being reinstated, and I recall my mom talking about it and saying that I never knew, that when I turned 18, I could be drafted in to the war in the Gulf. It scared me, you know? I didn't have any aspirations to be in the army, and this really got to me. At that time it seemed like the whole world was changing and you really didn't know what was going on, especially with the draft, if it was reinstated.
Well, it did worry me, but I kept it to myself. I didn't really talk about it with my mom, nor with anybody else. Anyway, one day at the grocery store, I was bagging groceries up for somebody and he wanted to drive up for them, so I went out there, he popped his trunk, and I started to put his groceries in his trunk. He got out of his car and stood on the driver's side at the side of his car and just watched me. We didn't even talk, he just stood there waiting for me to get done, I assumed so he could close the trunk when I was done.
When I was done putting his bags in the trunk, he said, before he got back in his car, "Don't worry, you won't have to go." I mean, instantly I could not believe what happened and to this day I wonder what was that????

This happened last week.
I was on a train going to school to 59th St. in NYC. I was there reading a book when the announcer came up and said:
"Next stop, 59th St."
Then, when I start reading the book again, the announcer said:
"And this is the season of Christmas. Have a happy one and beware of pickpockets."
Everyone was just staring and grinning at each other, wondering what the heck happened.

Ok, so me and a friend went to Toronto in October to see a Raptors game. We got on the subway at Yorkdale and got off at Union. So, my question is: since Union is at the bottom of a u-shape on the map, how in the world did we see every street on both sides of the u?! It's not like it was zig-zagging back and forth or anything. We were not imagining things. This really happened. I shoulda just asked a ticket taker. :p This link (http://www.subwaynavigator.com/subway_site/php/statmap.php?pays=Canada&ville=Toronto&langue=eng&id_ville=115) has a map so you can see what I mean. If the answer is really simple, please don't be too hard on me! ;)
