Woody invents a new type of William Tell game, in which you try to blow your head and hope your brains don't come splurting out.

In case anyone's wondering, this is from the cartoon "Wacky-Bye- Baby".

This is the ONLY way I can stop your obsessing over Flip the Frog cartoons and think about mine again, isn't it?

Woody: "Well, at least there's one SURE way of stopping Grace Stafford's plans to re-voice me! See you in HECK, suckers!!!"

What's wrong with Gracie voicing Woody? I thought she did a great job!Do you hate her 'cause she wanted to be uncredited, 'cause she thought boys would find out Woody's voice is done by a girl? You guys are starting to act like Herb Scannell. You hate something for absolutely no reason at all!

Brandon,
I don't "hate" Gracie Stafford, who was certainly a talented voice artist, although I like Woody's mid-late 1940s voice (provided by several different guys) and character design better than what Lantz decided to do with him in the 1950s & 1960s. The 1940s Woody is almost like an unofficial Warner Bros character, but then Lantz decided to make him a bit too cute to be very funny. The early 1950s Woody cartoons directed by Don Patterson (TERMITES FROM MARS, THE UNDER THE COUNTER SPY, ALLEY TO BALI, HYPNOTIC HICK, CONVICT CONCERTO, etc) were pretty cool, though.
But no, I don't have a problem with a male cartoon character being voiced by a woman. I was just trying to create a (hopefully) funny "Caption This" quote...and don't you think a smart-alec, rather violent character, like the 1940s version of Woody, might opt to blow his brains out, rather than be transformed into a blander, more "cute" version of himself, if presented with the choice? I do. Anyway, Bob Clampett characters have shot themselves in the head for lesser reasons.
By the way, who is Herb Scannell?

Woody: I am so ticked off by President Bush's plan to open up the Arctic Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling. There's only one thing to do---- I gotta go kill that dirty f***er, but first I gotta test this gun out.

Herb Scannell is the president of Nickelodeon. The one who threw those nasty edits @ Ren & Stimpy and The Angry Beavers. Lots of R&S fans/ TAB fans like to heckle him after what he did with the Rugrats. Let the Rugrats get away with things the other shows can't. One episode featured Tommy carrying a pop-gun and pretending it's real, while two TAB episodes got the boot, one because it featured an actual gun being fired, the other episode (which so far, has never aired in America, but is being shown in the UK) involved Dag & Norb pretending that their fingers are guns. As for R&S, scenes with farts got the boot, and in the pilot episode one scene involved Ren dreaming of a girl and he accidently kisses Stimpy (note: you can see 1 second of this scene in the opening sequence). I really shouldn't insult people by calling them Herb Scannell, 'cause he's a jerk, I'd be calling people jerks... sorry.

"You see, there's a trick to this. My skull's relatively hollow and the size of a ping-pong ball. My head's 99 percent hair. The bullet will blow harmlessly through my topknot...if I get the angle right on this ferschlugginer thing...."

Ah, okay. While I don't hate Gracie Stafford, I think I have enough room in my heart to despise Herb Scannell. Even if he hadn't edited R&S and TAB, perpetrating something like SLUGRATS is considered a capital offense in many countries. To bad this isn't one of them...
(I'm exaggerating, of course, but the sentiment's there) ;7)
