I think almost everyone knows about the whole adult cartoon block on TNN. I'm not sure if this is posted but I've got some good news for some fans of Gary and Mike which aired previously on UPN and Undergrads which previously aired on MTV, is now on Comedy Central SUNDAYS! Comedy Central has also put Duckman back on after them as well! The Critic airs on Comedy Central, also!

12:00 A.M./11:00P.M./central Gary & Mike
12:30 A.M./11:30 P.M./central Undergrads
1:00 A.M./12:00 A.M./central The Critic
2:00 A.M./ 1:00 A.M./central Duckman

Sorry, but I'll choose Ripping Friends and Oblongs over Gary and Mike and Undergrads. Gary and Mike did absolutely nothing for me. I had trouble finding what to laugh at. And Undergrads, it's just too MTV. And the writers of that show don't exactly have a large vocabulary. :/

The Critic is great, but I think I've seen every episode, and I know I've seen every episode of Undergrads, Duckman is good, but not worth staying up till 1:30 when I have to be at work at 8...

I sense not much love with TNN ;)

They don't have any blocks of edgy animation for the 18-34 market. (MTV [which actually skews younger] is already full and making money.) Viacom saw how WB TV was propelling the Cartoon Network, how Disney still hadn't used the ABC brand for this sort of thing, and how Barry Diller's Sci-Fi network had repeatedly blown-off animation. So.....

Herb Scannell, president of TNN (Nickelodeon and other Viacom networks) along with his boss, Tom Freston of MTV networks, decided to take the primetime block of TNN, The National Network (formerly known as The Nashville Network before Viacom acquired it during the CBS merger), and devote it to new, original animated series and repeats of Viacom animated properties which didn't fit anywhere else. And by scheduling the block to start sometime during the first 3 months of 2003 Viacom could keep its plan a secret as AOL/Time Warner obligated its resources during their Upfront Sales.

But now the Cartoon Network's most expensive time period, primetime (which doesn't attract enough of the 18-34 year olds), will mostly have repeats in competition with another network, TNN, that has new or relatively new programming geared specifically for the 18-34 year old market.

So what's the line up for the TNN block? Is it released yet?

This Spring.

And let's just say it has a Pamela Anderson superhero show called "Striperella" and it is the future home of a certain Ashma-hound chihuahua and his big noised cat partner created by a certain John K., complete with all new episodes and an upcoming TV movie.

I can't stand MTV! Except for mayyyyyyybe Jackass, but even that gets VERY old, VERY fast! And TNN has a zillion commercials! My heart is with the dudes at Williams Street (ATHF, Brakums, Space Ghost...)!!!

The only thing I'm looking forward to in TNN's new block are the banned-from-Nick episodes and the uncut versions of the first season episodes of Ren & Stimpy. None of the other shows interest me (except for Stripperella, if it has high-quality animation and doesn't turn out to be total crap). I might switch over to Adult Swim or Comedy Central if R&S is the only good show. I already switch between the AS and CC blocks.

I also hope that the new Ren & Stimpy episodes don't turn out to be grotesque juvenile garbage like Ripping Friends is.

Heh, I'm a little worried too. John K hasn't been on the ball, lately.

I voted for Comedy Central because Gary and Mike is the best show ever!

TNN's projected lineup looks completely unappealing to me. I wasn't really ever a huge R&S fan, and that looks like the only decent show on there. Maybe I'll be surprised, but I'm not too hopeful.

I'm buying myself another TV/VCR for my room, because my current one is miniscule. Because of that, I can be taping AS with one of them, but watching something else on the other! :) Heck, I can even be taping something else on the other! Now I finally will have a way to tape Dilbert when it comes to CC, without giving up part of AS for it! :)
