View Full Version : A good candidate for ASC?

I've just finally seen this animated short called "3rd Wish".

It's basically about a guy who got 3 wishes: he used the first wish to get a totally hot blonde girl with no brains that can shape change to anything, the second wish to grant them both immortality and invincibility, and the third wish-not yet, he's still thinking about it.

The animated short is quite nice for something that is made hand drawn the traditional way by one person, the cartoonist himself.
The short was made to interest people into seeing his comics, and after seeing the comics I'm convinced that it might just work in ASC, it's offensive towards women and minorities, it's anti politically correct, it has violence and sex to boot. Isn't this the kind of thing ASC is looking for in its candidates?
The only problem I see is that it's in anime form although the jokes are very Southpark and Sealab in nature (American jokes since it's made by an American).
Check out the comics, it's very offensive and funny especially regarding to minorities, women, and anything that's cute.

This is the comic's main website:

This is where you can download the animated short, it's big though(36 mb):

What do you guys think?

PS: I'm against racism and discrimination myself actually, but it just looks like this could be great ASC stuff.

A good candidate for ASC would be Pilot Candidate.

That show was so laughably bad that you couldn't help but laugh at it.

And making people laugh is what ASC is all about.

Bashing PC was so 4 months ago. :p So get a life or move on.

The short did look good, but like all those cheesy anime shows (like DBZ) it can only be taken so far. It seems like it would be the same running gags over and over. Perhaps 1, maybe 2 seasons would be ok, but if you wanted to extend it longer, I'm not sure it could be done well.

I'd say a run about as long as Mission Hill would be tolerable and conceivable, but past that (like bassist stated) would not be recommended. Just my opinion.

That was some funny stuff and I would like to see it on ASC. Only problem is it is way too dicey for ASC.

ive been an avid reader of Time Disorder Comics for the past 2 years now. i like 3rd Wish but i think that Your Half is a much better comic overall.

Love Hina (The Keitaro living with his Tenchi-style harem only to get punch into the stratosphere by lovely Naru show)

The thread is titled "A good candidate for ASC?"
and he thinks Love Hina is a good candidate for ASC.

But that isn't the point of this thread. The point is to talk about "3rd Wish" which the thread starter thinks is a good candidate for ASC.

The only thing I see in common with Love Hina and 3rd Wish is the objectification of women.

Of course, 3rd Wish does it in a very extreme and quite offensive way (like when the transvestite told Gibson that the most painful thing s/he went through to become a woman wasn't the cutting of hir penis, wasn't the 2 bowling balls put on hir chest, but was the doctor throwing away a half of hir brain to make hir woman-like).
Other than that, 3rd Wish and Love Hina have nothing in common at all.

the reason i was asking was because there is a guy on here who was comparing the two of them...i was just curious as to why he would have ever said that in a thousand years.
