Windows 98. It's basically just a darkish blue background. There's a multicoloured line (it starts off red, then becomes yellow, green, then blue) on the top right. The red and yellow lines separate the words Microsoft (and a little picture of a window :D ) with the words Windows 98. However, when the computer restarts, our "Plus!" wallpaper comes up.........Risk! Whoo-hoo! :D

But normally, it's pretty boring :p (can't wait till she gets her own computer so she can put up a :yakko: :wakko: :dot: wallpaper. ;) )

Most of my wallpapers come from Webshots (http://www.webshots.com), which is a free program/service you can sign up for to download new wallpapers. What I like so much about it is that you can keep your wallpapers in "collections" (you can have a bunch of wallpapers in one "collection" file), and can use the program as a screensaver (it displays the images in all of your collections at random).

I'm glad you asked this question. I'm using a wallpaper called White Magic from this site called DigitalBlasphemy.com (http://www.digitalblasphemy.com) .

The owner of this site turns something seemingly insignificant and taken for granted into an artform. You wanna talk talent? This is your guy. Just go look at some of his work and you won't believe the amount of detail that has been painstakenly put into these images. Take this one for example: Cobalt Daisy (http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/dbgallery/5/cobaltdaisy1152.shtml) . If you do, be sure to have a recepticle to put your drool in.

Basically my point is, if you want some kickass wallpaper, go check this site out.

On my Powerbook: just a generic desktop pattern (the green-colored plaid pattern in System 7.5). Given the Powerbook's age/lack of displaying above 256 colors, probably won't bother installing software on it to display desktop pictures...

On my Power Mac (still in storage 2000 miles away): IIRC, the last pictur was either of the Golden Gate bridge or of the Iron Giant.

Apple didn't build automatic desktop-picture-handling capabilities into its OS until OS 8 (the next OS up from the circa-1993-written 7.5). Thus, I'd have to install some extra software, which wouldn't be too hard; it's just that I'm not sure how good it'd look at 256 colors (the limit of my ancient Powerbook's display capacities). You can drag a pic into the "Appearances" control panel on OS 8 and higher... </end Mac OS tips>
