Oh well, CB is a great series and it's only going to be lightly edited, so I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

What I really can't wait to see are the new ep's of SG and Harvey Birdman: AAL

The series will be lightly edited, so some of the language will be toned down and the very little nudity the series actually has removed. CN could have aired the series completely uncut but that would have given it a TV-MA rating, something the network doesn’t want to do yet.

how'd you hear about that mr. obsession? did cn release anything regarding exactly how far they would go with language and stuff ? i wasnt clear on whether they would allow some cursing on adult swim. anyone know the official details?

Well there isn't much cussing to start out with and though I haven't seen all the episodes I have yet to see any with nudity. Even though its on real late I'll still be surprised if ALL the violence remains.

As a side note, I just completed my Cowboy Bebop DVD collection - something I wanted to do before CN showed it.

Let's see, the adult swim website has some rules on it: one being to always use profanity.

As for the airing of CB, all my info has come from TZN and CNX.


But Vigo Sprax is right there isn't much language on CB that will be edited out of a midnight time slot with a TV-14 rating. However there is one important scene in "Jupiter Jazz" which will require a digital bathing suit. I can also think of another scene (I forget which ep) that will be most likely be cut, it's not important to the story, just funny. For those who want to know:

Faye busts into a room where two men are, umm, "getting it on" and shoves her gun in one of the men's mouth. No nudity in the scene, but funny.

Anime TV series don't have much actual nudity these days anyway. Fan Service, yes, but nudity--not really.

But yeah, what Mr. Obsession said about the nudity is right. There are only two choice scenes I can think of.

I'm thinking about the drug use and some of the more violent episodes...so far, their Midnight Runs have not shown that they will air ANY violence. 08th MS Team seems to support this, as a few scenes in that were edited--even a gambling scene was curiously cut out. Speaking of gambling...I love Faye's introduction episode.

If Cowboy Bebop were to air unedited, I would rate it about as extreme as the first season of The Sopranos.

Ok, I'm drawing a blank here, I think we're both talking about the shower scene from "Jupiter Jazz". What's the other one you're thinking of? Unless it's the one with the two men.

But to show CB completely uncut would require a TV-MA rating so some minor cutting is being used to bring it down to TV-14. 08th MS Team on the other hand was edited for a TV-G/Y7 rating because they plan on airing it on the afternoon edition of Toonami.
