Has anyone ever had a "paranormal experience"? I have, and when I tell you about it, your gonna call me a big liar. But i assure you it's true.

I honestly believe my house has poltergists. Yeah, poltergists. Here are some examples

One night, when I was cleaning the dishes, (now I swear to god I'm telling the truth) a spoon actualy flew out of the sink and landed about 4 feet away.

The same thing happened with my dad's pager, it was just sitting on the table and it flew about 4 feet away from the table.

My brother loves to breakdance. In order to improve he films himself doing his moves and then watchesthem to see whats wrong with them. Well, he was practicing one day and he filmed it. When he went to watch the tape, there was this little orb that floated across the air. Like a little spot of light, only in the air, not on the wall. That was probably the most scariest one.

Lastly, we think my dog can see all these things. We'll hear her howling at night, and we'll go down to see the whats wrong, and we'll see her head moving, like she's following something. But when we look we wont see anything.

I know, you're all probably saying I'm crazy, and I'm a liar. But it's all true. I was wondering if anyone else has had paranormal experiences.

Sounds pretty spooky. Nothing like that in my current house, only been here three years though. Only possible paranormal experience was when I was a bit younger. Dad was on a trip so my big sis and I slept with my mom in the big bed. Now a little early my best bud and I had done the Ouji board for the first time and we got the initals T.J after asking if my house had a spirit. Okay, so my mom, sis, and I are ready for bed and my moms turns off the tv with the remote. And it turns on again, so I get up and turn it off by hand, and it turns on yet again. I'm a bit freaked and wanna jump back into the safety of my spot between my mom and sis in the bed so I turn it off a second time and said something like "knock it off T.J!", and the tv finally stayed off. So was it a paranormal experience...or just a stupid tv? :p

There was a STRONG smell of incense burning in my grandfather's house the day after he died. Nobody was burning anything, and my mother, grandmother, and aunts all smelled the incense while they were watching TV.

I was asleep the night it happened, and I wasn't close to my grandfather, so it might be better that he acknowledge his daughters and wife instead, if he truly did come to say "goodbye" as a ghost that night.

Hey Thunder, I believe you. I love ghosts and hauntings, and I also like going to cemeteries taking pictures and recording EVP.
But yeah, the dog thing is true. Animals are more in tune with spirits, so they can hear, sense, and see them. Remember that movie "Ghost"? When Patrick Swasey looks at the cat and it jumps off the chair? That's what happens, but you already know that.
Also it's cool that your brother caught the orb on film. Is there anyway you could maybe get a screen cap of it? I'd love to see that! ;)
Also, Jojo, that scent thing is most likely what you thought it was. If your Grandpa used to burn insense or sometimes smoking cigars would give you that sort of smell. Like if a person used to smoke, and after he passes on, you smell that cigar smoke, that's their way of sending you a message from the other world.
If you want more info on this stuff, good pages are:

<<<shadowlands (http://theshadowlands.net/ghost/)>>>

<<<australian hauntings (http://www.castleofspirits.com/)>>>

The first one has a lot of info for everything you want to know about ghosts and hauntings, and the second one is an Australian website, and it's got some good haunting-researches that they did.
One of them has the cigar smoke thing in it. You can find the investigations here:<<<inverstigations (http://www.castleofspirits.com/austhaunt.html)>>>

Anyway, check it out. I've had some crazy experiences, but i just don't have the time to put them here now, since they're really long.

I don't think this is ghost related, but when I came home from school today, the oven was on. I assumed my sister had stupidly not turned it off. When I accused her of doing it later, she said she never used the oven... so who did? Ooooo...

Oh I remembered one thing that happened to me just a week ago.
I think my liquor store has a spirit or something like that inside one of the storage rooms.
Anyway, one night I was closing with two of the managers at around 11:30pm and they locked the door and went to the parking lot, and I was standing near the door. And then I heard a woman scream from the inside! I was like, "What tha?"
So I asked the managers if they heard it, and they said, "No". So I don't know, it was weird. I mean it wasn't like a happy yell, like a surprised yell. It was a horrified scream! I was like, "Ok then... I'm gonna go home now."
So yeah, it was pretty weird.
My friend in Germany says that there's a ghost in his room. But the thing is that this ghost can bend light! Meaning that you see the sunbeams bouncing off as if somebody was standing there, but there's nobody there.

I had an experience that freaked me. It happened about two years ago when I was taking an afternoon nap in my apartment. I was just about to nod off when I heard voices in the background. I thought it may have been the painters that were around painting the entire complex at the time, but the voices sounded too clear to be from outside and felt like they were in the room with me. I popped my head up and took a look around. Saw nothing. Shrugged off whatever I heard and tried to go back to my nap. But then I felt one side of my bed dip a bit, like someone getting on the bed. I heard breathing too, and felt something against the back of my neck. Freaked again, I sat straight up in my bed and took a good look around the room. There was nothing. So I tried to nap again, and the same thing happened, but I felt the other side of my bed move time and then something like someone was stroking, playing with my hair. After that, I decided to not take a nap.

I believe ya, Thundercleese... :)

I used to do some "ghost hunting" in my spare time and have spent my share of evenings doing the graveyard thing with friends, armed with a camera, recorder and EMF detector.

Wow, most of those are pretty creepy. Makes me wish I wasn't alone in my house at 6:00am. It's dark outside too. *SHUDDERS*
And to make it worse, I'm pretty sure I have a ghost in my house.

Okay, if you've looked at the Imaginary Friend thread, I'm sure that the man my sister used to see down at the end of our hallway is an old subject.
And then the McGruff dog, both my sister and I saw him shrouded in flames at the end of the hallway. The end of the hallway was always an odd place I guess.

Now, my cat does exactly what you say your dog does. Her head moves around the room, like she's following something, but if you turn to see what she's looking at, there isn't anything there.
Though one night I could have sworn I saw a shadow sweep across the wall. *SHIVERS*
There is not a feeling in the world worse than looking at your pet, your back facing the entire room, and have her eyes focus on something directly behind you. It's obvious I'm going to say that there wasn't anything there when I wheeled around in fright.

I have lots of examples, like the radio turning on, or off, not to mention the volume going all the way up, without anyone touching it. The TV changing channels or volume while we sit on the couch. And strange noises around the house. Once and a while the floors creak and groan when no one is walking on them.
Sometimes it's something as small as a single cough, but others it sounds like doors (which all squeak) around the house are opening and shutting.

A couple times while sitting in the family room, I could have SWORN I heard the front door open, and the sound of keys jingling, but after a few minutes of waiting for my mom to come through the doorway, I went into the utility room, and found no one.

This has happened to me and my mom, both separately and then once together.

As I type this, I just heard the sound of the floor in the kitchen creaking. Maybe I've just freaked myself out.

*THINKS HAPPY THOUGHTS* Ahhh, Batman...... :p

I think it's highly possible that my girlfriends house has a ghost or is otherwise just creaky. For some weird reason it seems that almost anytime we go out during the night the light in the basement always seems to be on when we get back. Also at times you can hear a door opening (like the front door) but when I go to check it out there has been no change to said door. Perhaps the funniest thing though is that the heating ducts constantly sound like something crawling through them, usally making a loud thud frequently throughout the day.

As for seeing things, I could have sworn I saw my grandpa the night after he died. Seeing as how I didn't live near them for most of my life when we visited I used to sleep on the couch in the front room. Well my grandpa had diabetes and had a difficult time getting around so he often slept in an electric recliner on the side of the room. Considering it was the first time I had ever been alone in the living room late at night it was kind of spooky and upon looking around I saw the figure of my grandpa - at first I was very startled and somewhat afraid, not wanting to go to sleep. It wasn't until after I looked back and thought about my grandpa that I took it as a comfort and was finally able to go to sleep. While this is probably a trick of late-night imagination I think there is the possibility he was there briefly to say good-bye.

I've posted this before, but if you're intested in hearing my experiences, here it is again:

I have always been fascinated with these strange appirations that appear to people at night. My mom would tell me about when she was a little girl this man in a black hat and a black trenchcoat would always appear at the foot of her bed when she was trying to fall asleep. She would pull the covers over her head hoping he would go away, but every time she dared to look, he was still there. One night she made a decision to get up even while he was standing there, she was going to go to the bathroom. The man flew out the window and never came back.

I never heard about anything like this before, but I knew my mom wasn't lying to me. She just doesn't make stuff like this up. But I always had this interest in this man in black that appeared to my mother when she was a little girl. Who the hell was he? A stalker? A spirit? A ghost? A demon? My mom didn't really know either.

It wasn't until I was watching an episode of the new Twilight Zone one night and they had an episode about this man in black that would appear to people while they were sleeping. I tripped! Somebody else obviously must have experienced this, whether it be the writer of the episode or somebody the writer knew! This was the first time since I heard my mom's story that I heard of anybody else experiencing the same thing.

Then years later this guy I knew in Minnesota told me about his experience with this man in black one night, and when I was in college, I over heard a girl talking to another girl about this man in black that was appering in her dorm room. The stories these other people told me was just like my mom's experience. Yet I have never read about this mysterious man in black in any books on the paranormal (of course, I actually don't really seek out books about the subject) it was apparent this wasn't an isolated experience.

For a short while, my family lived in a house my mom swore was haunted. One of the most memorable events that we associated with some kind of haunting was one night I woke up and I was on the floor. I looked up and my dresser had fallen over and the top half was lying on my bed. I wasn't a kid who fell out of bed when he was little, and that dresser was sturdy as any other solid piece of furniture. It was two dressers stacked on top of each other, but it was still sturdy. I had used that dresser all my life, stacked one on the other, and it never was wobbly or ever tipped over again. I crawled out from under the dresser, which was just inches from me, and woke up my mom and sister (my dad had left us before any of this happened) and they were just as freaked out as I was. I clearly remember my mom commenting to my sister that if I had been in bed that I would have been killed.

It could have been an earthquake, I suppose. Actually, we tried to look for a logical explanation like that. After all, there is a fault line running thru the mid west that from time to time would make minor tremors that I could feel but you'd almost have to be doing nothing else but lying still to really notice them. And if I was sleep walking and caused the dressers to fall....well, I woke up under them, and if I had some how pulled them down, I doubt I would have been lying near the bed as to avoid being hit by them. I felt at the time, and still do feel as well as my mom and sister feel, that something caused the dresser to fall, something we can't quite explain, and perhaps it was my guardian angel that protected me.

There were a couple other instances of physical evidence of something in this house that was just too wierd. There was a can at the top of the basement stairs that one day just fell down the stairs but did not hit one single stair on the way down. It just tipped over and went down without hitting anything until it hit the floor at the bottom. We had a bird that was constantly sick in the house that got well after we moved. Another time my mom and her sister were using a oujia board and my aunt asked if there were evil spirits in the house. It went to YES and my aunt asked the spirits to proove it. That very instant, a door slammed shut (and it wasn't anybody else in the house, unless the dogs developed a sense of understanding full English and slammed the door shut! All of us were around that board at that time) and my aunt went flying down the stairs! I think she may have wet her self too!

I know those aren't your classic haunting type stories, but those strange things only happened while we were living there, not in any place before or since. When my mom did some reasearch on the history of that house, she discovered that somebody had been murdered there in the living room. So you can take that for whatever it's worth, but I will always say I believe in ghosts because I lived in that house. That house, btw, wound up burning down shortly after my mom sold it to our uncle. It burned down the ground, and all that remained was the chimney. It was started when burning ashes fell on some rags when my uncle was putting wood into the furnace, so we never really thought anything wierd about that, but when my uncle sold the property some time later and the new owners began to put a house where the old one was, we got a call from one of our old neighbors. The barn burned down the day they started to put the new house up. I know it could be one of those things, but it's also quite an interesting coda to such a bizzare house.

I forgot one though, this was the first one we experienced.

So I was sleeping soundly, just like everyone else in the family. Then, out of nowhere, I hear a scream coming from my sisters room. I thought it was a robbery or something. Anyways, I opened my door and she was running out crying(she's 17, btw). It took a good 5 minutes but she finally told us what happened. She had opened woke up and she saw something that looked like a balloon, bobbing up and down next to her bed. There was no balloons in her room, or anything like that.

That was the first thing that happened. She swears it wasn;t a dream because she never woke ujp or anything after it happened.

When I was young, I thought I saw about 2 ghosts.

When I was real little, I was awake in bed, trying to fall asleep in the middle of the night. Someone walked into my room, but I remained totally still under the covers. I saw a woman wearing a bonnet. She was all white. Well, it was dark, but I saw some. She came in, and closed my blinds. Then left. I had convinced myself it was all a dream, but I know it wasn't. I know my mother, and that wasn't my mother.....

When I was at my grandma's house, at a family get-together, it was night, and everyone was talking in the kitchen. I wandered off into the family room, where it got darker and darker as I walked further. I made my way over to my grandparent's room. The door was cracked open, and inside it was just pitch-black. I crept slowly towards the door, and to my shock, a white-gloved hand came out from the room and slammed the door shut. I just scurried back to the brightly lighted kitchen and leaped into my mother's arms. Everyone was there, so mabey the hand was just a burglar(I was just to scared to mention anything back then).

I dunno if this counts as 'paranormal,' but I guess time travel counts as something out of the ordinary. :p

When I was little(curse my childhood.....^__^), my parents tucked me into bed. They left the room, and I blinked. Suddenly, it was morning! The room was sun-lit....clear day! When it was just night! *ahem*.....

I've personally never had a strange experience. But my cousin has had a couple of very strange ones. He's very reliable, so I believe him!

Once he was working as a nightclub bouncer, and the staff house that he stayed in was haunted. Apparently someone had been killed upstairs. Quite a few times people would be pushed off the stairs as they went up. Once, when he was sleeping in the living room, he was dreaming that there was a light behind the kitchen door(it's a frosted glass door), and he could hear voices, and when he woke up, the room was freezing and he was being held down by something. Obviously scared ****less, he started reciting Buddhist prayers, and the feeling started going away.

Another one he told me about was actually in the local newspapers(this is in manchester). Basically, there was a chinese takeaway who had employed new girl recently, and she was living upstairs from the shop. One day, she refused to come down, and was throwing things around. They called the police, and she even threw them around like they were toys. So the owners called someone from Chinatown, sort of like a spirit medium in a way. He went up there, and started talking to the girl. Basically at the time, the girl's spirit was very low(i.e. she was very depressed and lonely), so she had been taken over by a sort of ghost. Then the medium invoked some guardians to take the spirit back to where she came from. The people present (including the policemen) swore that they heard the sounds of chains and an iron ball being dragged along the floor as the spirit was taken away.
Now this story is quite rooted in chinese mythology, but it happened only last year. My uncle was actually present there at the time. Even though it sounds really fantastic, I still believe him.

I'm going to hide underneath my blanket now....

Just recentlly when I was playing basketball in the house (Long story) I thought I saw a ghost. A white thing flew across me faster then an eagle. It nearly scared me to death. When I looked again nothing was there.

Well, I never experienced such scary things like that, but my grandama/pa, father and two uncles, when they were all living here did. They never told me exactly what used to happen... My grandma always seems to avoid or something, but it was enough to call a priest and use holy water and that stuff. Alright, I don't want to belive that those things made the strange things almost disappear completely... Anyone has experience as such? Priest and Holy water?

Anyway, I said "almost" cause the reason I know those things used to happen when I wasn't born yet is because I was damn scared with some happenings and asked my grandma.

There's a room in our house that nobody can stand. When I was a child, it was my room. I couldn't pass a good night on it, I always waked up at night calling my grandma and crying... When I grew up I forgot about it, but whenever I had to sleep there again, I turned to the wall and covered my head with the blanket...
At first I thought it was all because I had bad experiences in there, including hearing the wood crackle in the hall coming closer etc. Well, so how come everytime some friend came to sleep they said: "Don't put me there again, your house is haunted, I turned arond covered myself and closed my eyes! I don't like that room, actually, I don't like your house at night"
When I had to do some school work with them and we passed all night wake, the wood always crackled, and they were getting used to it, they even said: yeah, here it comes! and then laughed!!
... I hate my house when it's dark and when I'm alone. Something always happens when I'm alone. But alone meaning without adults, even with a friend it happens.

Grandma told that the man who lived here was a drug dealer and that (I think) he killed his sister and nephew... I don't know if it was here. When we bought the appartament he was killed or something.

Damn, I slept all afternoon and now I have to spend all night wake to study...
Damn, damn!
