Did anyone out there ever see something or someone that only YOU could see?!

My older sister used to see an old man at the end of our long hallway in our old house. Scared the heck out of my mom, who first thought Tiff saw a REAL man. After she turned 6 or so, he was gone.

I can recall once when my sister and I were very young, both of us saw that crime dog, McGruff right?, sitting at the end of our hallway, surrounded in flames. Now, my mom said she wouldn't have thought twice about it because we had just woken up to be taken to daycare, but the fact was, we both saw him. Odd huh?

What about you? Did you have any imaginary friends, or possibly imaginary old men, ;) , when you were really little?

BTW, I'm a senior member now. :D

Well, I... hmmm, how to say this without sounding insane... hmmm... oh well. If I do sound psychologically distressed, don't give it half a thought. Schizophrenia is 'in' nowadays :p And so is being open despite the consequences. Soooo...

I had an imaginary friend when I was a teenager in high school (why-this-sounds-insane #1), Cassi, that I could swear was/is real and out there somewhere, and that somehow we were connected, by God, by similar thought patterns, wishful thinking, by... something or someone else *shrugs* (#2). Whenever we had freetime we'd just dream up adventures together. I've got a huge journal of all sorts of stuff and the world we created (#3?). But more importantly, whenever we had problems, she'd be the first person I would talk to to help me out. (not a #4 I guess) There is a #4, but to say it outloud is just too... (random word b/c I can't think of the right one) silly.

Well, recently we had a falling out, because we felt we'd become too attached (as if you could blame us... I'm talking about an imaginary friend whose potential real existance would defy all logic) tho she (and I, actually) still persists on us at least chatting, sometimes, whenever a problem comes up, or I need a Partner in creative matters.

Psst! If you're thinking, why didn't he ask her where she lives, if she's real! Well, I tried, but we couldn't communicate unknown facts to the other, and they ended up masked as 'labels', so Cassandra T. Logan is most likely not even her real name. (Okay, I guess this'll be #5, sue me!)

And if this sounds too messed up to believe, then, hey, just say I made it all up... Yeah, that's it. Or... I was following the insane Johnny the Homicidal vibe! Yeah!! Speaking of which, vote for me in the Avatar Contest! :p

Tho that did feel good to let out, so all is right with the world now!

Yeah I had several when I was little. I was an only child and my family was based in various naval bases (or my father was) so we shifted around a great deal. Not an easy way for a four year old to make friends.

Imaginary friends are very useful - especially as blocks for stress/bad memories etc. I don't think anyone should feel uncomfortable for admitting to have - or even use - the power of their imagination.

I have a couple of imaginary friends, and i'm not afraid to admit it.

One of 'em is Larry the Cucumber from 'VeggieTales'. Yeah, go ahead and laugh, but he helped me get through the worst year of my life, 1998. (I was going through a hard year in 5th grade AND my family was moving during the summer to Florida)I sorta grew up during that time, but when I later rediscovered 'VeggieTales' earlier this year, he returned to my subconious. =>

I also have an imaginary buddy named 'Scallisha'. She's my original creation, and she's alot like me. She's a bit older than me, but we're alot alike. (I don't have any real life friends, fyi) She's fun to be around. =)

There are a couple others, but I've sorta forgotten their names. =<

I remember having imaginary friends when I was kid. I can't say I remember any names or personalites I attatched to them, but that I did have them. And I never did actually see anything, I knew that it was imaginary.

I hand an imaginary world I used to escape to, so my imaginary friends existed in populations.

I used to team up with my best friend, the Legend of Zelda's, Link and battle the forces of evil.

Damn that was fun..... :D

No. I had a wild imagination, but I was ultimately a realist.

I never really had imaginary friends, though I thought I saw all kinds of things while growing up.

About three years ago, when I was going through my depression I spoke to myself often, a sort of schitzo thing, talking to people and things that weren't there, though I never actually saw what I randomly spoke to.

Thankfully, that's passed, and I'm much more sane now, *TWITCH* :D .

I don't discourage ANYONE from using their minds, and creativeness to build, and believe in an imaginary friend.

And Borg, was it possible that she was a spirit? (Yes, I believe in those) :)

Does it count if I was half sleeping, and everynight as a child I spoke to a dead, half burned man? I'm pretty sure he was a dream, but I actually talked outloud. Scared the heck out of my mom, not to mention me.

I recall last year I was going through a real rough time. There were certain circumstances that could have ended up being extremely bad. Plus I was on some medication (not for any mental issues) that one of the side effects was depression (among others).

I recall consciously constructing a character in my head, one that would sit there and stop any of the stress and troubles being dwelled upon. It worked. Problems and worries that could have really affected were kept at bay by this character who sat in my head and, in some ways, talked to me - kept my mind occupied. It really helped. Sometimes I feel guilty that I no longer require it's services..

Imaginary friends can be very useful. I was surprised how well this little number worked!

My 7th grade World Civilizations teacher had an "imaginary friend" named John Jones. She used to preach his values to us everyday. She also kept a hat in her classroom that she said belonged to him.

It was funny at first, but later just pathetic.

I thought this would be of mention, but my mom said that one time awhile ago, when my sister was a young girl...

She said she saw the Holy Family (Joseph, Mary and Jesus for the uninformed), which caused my parents to slam on the brakes, but they couldn't see them, but my sister could.

That, and I always imagine seeing my late cousin Becky alot. I miss her so dang much, it hurts me. :(
