I'm sure my fellow Califorians can relate to this :D

The election race between Bill Simon (one of the dim-wits behind Enron and other industrial blunders) and Grey Davis (aka Mr.Energy-Crisis) seems like a lose-lose situation for us.

The mud-slinging commercials would be funny if they weren't so true
-Grey Davis: "Yes, I messed up a bit...BUT SIMON SCREWED UP WORSE!!! Vote for Davis"

-Bill Simon: "I've made mistakes in the past, but Davis had the energy crisis and...um....look at the cute pictures of my son playing football with me!!! Here's my wife, isn't she pretty? Vote for Simon."

It reminds me of the Simpsons ep where Sideshow Bob ran against Mayor Quimby....
"Quimby supports a revolving door justice system that lets sick felons like Sideshow Bob run free. Vote Sideshow Bob for mayor!"

What are your opinions of this whole mess?

Well as votes are being counted it appears Gov. Gray Davis is the "lesser of two evils." ;)

yeah, by about.... | | ....that much.

I'd rather have Arnold as my Governor than either of those two. We would be king of states. Arnold would physicly threaten Washington to relocate the capitol to California so he could be closer to congress to make damn sure them special ed kids got treated right.

Bill Simon has got to be better than Gray-out "nationalize everything, raise taxes for kicks" Davis.

Unfortunately, not enough people agree, but Davis was trickling something down his pants for a while at least.

Neither should be governor. As a Republican I went for Simon, but even my dad (whose as Republican as it's possible to get) said Simon was an idiot. But he hates Davis so Simon was the lesser evil. Honestly, I don't think either is qualified to be where they are, neither deserved the office. Davis, somehow, got it again, and I can only hope things don't go even more downhill. Some people on his side were even predicting that he would most definitely do badly this second time around! We need new people running for this office.

Even though I usually go Republican, I stuck with Gray Davis because he's been pretty good for education. Although, things are about to get ugly the next few years. The state's running out of money, and rather than take anything away from education during an election year, they are "deferring" their problems. One district head I talked to expects K-2 classroom reduction to be raised slightly, probably to 24 from 20.
