Who uses AOL Instant Messenger?

I've got a huge buddy list and honestly I don't know who half the people are. I'll get messages from people and I'll be clueless to as who they are, but I've got them added to my list from previous contact. I know most of my buddy list comes from here. So I think I'm going to do a little spring cleaning and remove some names. If you would like to talk to me, respond to this thread and leave your name or hit me up on AIM if you have my screen name. PM if you don't want to give the name out in this thread.

For the people I have regular contact with, this doesn't apply to you ;)

And to those of you have no desire to trade messages there's something here for you.

So who uses AIM and why do you use it over the other message clients the net has to offer? Such as ICQ.

I use Trillian, which incorporates, AIM, ICQ, Y! Messenger, and MSN (with a very basic IRC Client) in one application.


It also lets me rename contacts, so I can remember who they are.

I actually feel slightly bad about AOL. The icon is right therebut I'm rarely signed on. Only people on my list are my roommates... :rolleyes:

My mother uses AOL so when I head back I use my AOL name of kasarbi. However, anywhere else and I'm on AIM you'll find me under a similar name of casarbi. Of late I will use both at the same time - call it a rather dull party trick..

I can't stand AIM or AOL, it causes SO many problems for me. I get kicked offline constantly. You'd think I would've given up by now. You'd think.... :D

I use it all the time... easiest way to talk to people. no nervousness that you'd have in person, and if you don't feel like saying anything there's no awkward pauses like you'd have in a vocal conversation. of course it's not really as social, but what do I care

I use AIM whenever I have a chance, even though I'm not on nearly as enough as I used to. I have a small assortment of friends that I talk to, some from TZ and some that I just run into from time to time on my internet excursions.
