Because this question keeps coming up around here.
99.9% of all Anime DVD Releases are UNEDITED
There is no reason to continue to ask about every release for an An AS Show or any other Anime for that matter if it is edited.
The only ones that are edited come from two scources:
1) Funimation. They Clearly mark which of there discs are edited and uncut. Currently on DBZ, Hakusho and Lupin come in the fashion. All of there releases are 100% UNCUT.
2) 4KIDS. Anything that they have a hand in will be edited. (But of course, nothing from them will be on Adult Swim...)
There are of course a few Random Varibles.. Viz releases an edited disc everynow and then, but when they do ethier myself or one of the other Otaku mentions it. (Zoids and Trouble Chocolate).. and of course, The Mobile Suit Gundam TV DVDs from Bandai don't contain the Japanese Audio Track and Episode 13.
So Lets Review. Inu Yasha, Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam 0083, Outlaw Star, Gundam 0080, Big-O, and Ghost in the Shell are all Avaible Uncut on DVD (Eventually ^_^).
Don't ask, we'll tell you.

Dragon Ball has been added to the list now as well (they said it was going to be released uncut only, but as time passed the inevitible edited videos came out).

Bandai and Pioneer also do it for certain shows.

But not as much as other people.
The only things I can think of off the top of my head is Bandai's MS Gundam TV (Mentioned above) and Viz's Zoids (Dist. by Pioneer)
There is also Tokyopop's Initial D.. which may or may not contain a Japanese track -_-

No, I was asking what's the point of the topic since people would know that DVD's (at least most of them) are uncut.

To get people to stop asking if a dvd is uncut.

No, I've seen topics like "Are the YYH DVD's uncut? Are the Inu-Yasha DVD's the same as what you see on TV or are they uncut?" etc, etc. Yeah, it does get a little old, and I can see why this topic was started.

And now everyone who ever had a doubt about whether a DVD was censored or not breaths a sigh of relief and says, "Wow, some dude on a message board said that all DVDs are uncensored, and since the Internet is always a reliable source of information, it MUST be true!"
Come on, man. I'm not saying I disagree with you, because I don't, but you can't just make a blanket statement with no support or evidence whatsoever and expect people to take it as a fact.

yes those that would be dumb (hey) enough to believe that dvds are edited would be dumb enough to believe his statement as gospel (sp).
i think this is more or less directed at me for my questioning the dvd release of IY. i have yet to go back and check my old fansub of the first few episodes for discrepencies but...you cant say that an anime fan cant be concerned.
in the world where we can find edited versions of things actually availible to buy (ie. the Tenchi clamshells, the Gundam Wing VHS) it wouldnt surprise me if something was simply released as it had been shown on tv. like is said...unlikely but not necessarily untrue.

On VHS, yes. But as far as DVD's are concerned, 99% of the anime DVD's out there are unedited. Asking if every anime DVD is unedited or not is just like asking if celebrity is rich. Sure, there are exceptions, but most of the time you can pretty much assume that they are.
Basically, if an anime released on DVD ISN'T unedited, you'll usually hear a lot of shouts and moaning about it, especially on this board. Otherwise, assume the DVD's unedited.

Well this is why I recheck the DVD's sometimes before buying.

Same Here, I just didn't want to waste 30 bucks on a DVD that's not true to the original...

Apparently not everyone does know this.
But hey, we can at least see the infamous episode 23 of OS on the DVD! :D

Yeah, there are exceptions... and someone who's a fan of a series has a right to want to know if that series is one of those exceptions or not.
The key word is USUALLY. If there's no shouting and moaning on this board, then there's always a chance that nobody's thought to check on that particular title yet.
Then there are the cases where some says yea and some says nay. When there are conflicting reports on whether something is edited or not, is it so wrong to want to hear different viewpoints on the subject, or maybe ask for a link to an official denial or confirmation? Geez.
Now, consolidating it all into one thread, THAT might be a good idea so that it doesn't clutter up your precious board. (-:

Which proves that FUNi has so much money, they don't know what to do with it.
