New RPG Suggestions

See that little blurb about "countless rpg's" in the board description? Well, we're serious!!! We want countless RPG's at World's Finest. Here are some guidelines:

It does !NOT! have to be World's Finest related, meaning that you could start a Spider-Man RPG or a X-Men RPG or even a Fantastic Four RPG!

To start a new RPG, all you need is this simple requirement: You MUST have AT LEAST 5 people already willing to join the RPG. After you do that, I'll set up the thread for the RPG!

Just post suggestions here and/or post here if you're willing to join one of the suggested rpgs.

The lands: Start off at the Neighborhood, at Dexter and Dee Dee's House, then to the City of Townsville, then to Tokyo, Japan, where you meet the sailor Scouts, Next to planet Namek, where Goku and the Z Fighters are been joined on the quest, then meet the Eds planning to get those over growned Jawbreakers. then the middle of Nowhere, where you meet Courage. Then go back to Dexter and Dee Dee's House, and Mandark will join you. Then meet Jonny Bravo and Little Suzy. Then meet Cow and Chicken, and next Battle against Cell at the Namek City and the Final Battle against Darksid at the damage Metropolis.

BRIEF HISTORY

Ororo Munroe is descended from a line of African witch-priestesses which can be traced back to the dawn of humanity. All of the women in this line of descent have white hair (throughout their lives) and blue eyes and the potential for magical abilities, while the men have none of these attributes.
Ororo's mother, N'dare, was a princess of a tribe from Kenya that has ye to be identified. N'dare married American photojournalist David Munroe, and while living with him in Manhattan, Ororo was born. When she was six months old, she and her parents moved to Cairo, Egypt where her father was on assignment. Five years later, Ororo's Egyptian home was destroyed during an Arab-Israeli conflict. Ororo's parents were killed outright. Ororo found herself buried under the rubble of her home beside her mother's corpse. This event traumatized Ororo so that today she still suffers from claustrophobia, the fear of being in a confining space.
For a while after her parent's deaths, Ororo wandered the back alleys of Cairo until she was found by children working for the Egyptian master-their Achmed el-Gibar. Achmed el-Gibar taught children to steal for him, and Ororo became his prize pupil. Within a year she became the most accomplished sneak thief and pickpocket in Cairo. Achmed el-Gibar also taught her to become a superb lockpick and escape artist. Then, she had a short encounter with Xavier.

When Ororo was twelve, she felt a strong inner need to go south. She spent a year travelling by foot from Cairo across the Sahara Desert until she reached the home of her ancestors, the Sorengeti Plain, which lies in both Kenya and Tanzania. During this long journey she encountered the young T'Challa, who would one day become the Black Panther.
Ororo came to live on the Serengeti Plain beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. By this time her mutant power to control the weather had emerged, and she used this power to help several local tribes, who worshipped her as a goddess. In helping these tribes, Ororo developed her sense of responsibiltiy to use her abilities for the benefit of others. She contentedly spent a number of years in the role of "goddess" until Professor Charles Xavier came to Africa and persuaded her that she should use her powers to benefit all humanity by joining the X-Men. Ororo did as Xavier asked, and he gave her the code-name Storm.

Ok well i was thinking lets kinda base it on what we know from the show and comics and lets us develope our own X men type stories so for example who ever is playing rogue can choose if she is mystiques daughter or if she is in love with gambit etc...

I think it would be good to write a charater description of the charaters every one is going to play once we get the RPG up and running.

As for Wolverine and Cyclops thats fine but like if we get to the stage where some one else wants to be one of them are you willing to give one of those charaters to some one as long as they carry on with the story you have kinda set out for that Charater.

either way we just need 1 more person but i still feel it would be good to get quite a few people as some made up charater would also be cool.

Not too bad of an idea. I don't know about the magic, though. Bruce never seemed like someone who was big o magic. But maybe that's just me. Run the idea past some of the others and see what they have to say. Overall, though, I think it's a good idea...

I, personally, don't think magic is such a bad idea. It makes her kinda mysterious... doubly mysterious if Bruce just thinks she's a normal housekeeper. ;) but this is just MY opinion...

The inner scouts (Serena, Mina, Lita, Rei, and Amy) we can use japanese or U.S. names, it does't really matter to me. I don't even know the U.S. names for the outer scouts (Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuana). And I think there was a change in the characters in the US version, like S. Uranus and S. Neptune are related instead of friends or something...do we want to keep them friends or related to each other?

I think we should go with Japanese the whole way, keeping Michiru and Haruka's relationship the same instead of making them cousins. Keep them as... ehem... 'friends'. Sound good to everyone?

Yay!!! We should have posted in here sooner that we were running low on characters! OK! Clark and Gotham Dude you can play whoever you want except the ones that are taken, of course. right now all that are taken are...

Zatanna, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Ra's Al Ghul, & Green Arrow. There are other characters in it but flhero kinda took over for them for the time being because our other members disappeared, but I'm positive he wouldn't mind if you took over. Those characters are Batman and Superman... There are also 2 custom characters. (well 3 but one has disappeared) One is mine, Crystal, and the other is Samurai, that's flhero's.

If we trade characters out after this story arc, I'm keeping Crystal (just because) and I'll trade Zatanna and Black Canary for Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl. And, as he said, flhero will probably trade Green Arrow for MMHunter...

Having the Flash and GL would be great! If someone wants to pick up Supes and/or bats feel free. ^^

So, with the next story arc, from the JL show, Hawkgirl, WW, Batman, and Martian Manhunter are definetly spoken for, with GL/Flash/Superman still up in the air. Along with them, we've got Crystal, Samuri, Batgirl, and Robin. I'm also willing to take on another character, once Gotham Dude decides who he wants I'll take what's left, hopefully just one character...

I'm new here. But here's my idea; What about an rpg based in the present real world. Nobody has Superpowers or anything but crime has gotten so out of hand that someone has risen from the shadows to attempt to do something about it. We would have 1 hero trying to make a difference and 1 out of control serial killer. A bunch of police officers after both of them, some corrupt and some good.

Does your character's name have to be Rogue Wolf? To keep a since of reality I think it would be best for him to have an actual name. But if you feel that it is absolutely necessary to have the name Rogue Wolf then you can keep it.

I'll play one of the good cops. His name is Greg Hinrich. A rookie cop who doesn't have very many friends but understands what has to be done in order to make the city a safer place. Since we can take on more than one character I'd also like to be the serial killer. A homicidal rapist who leaves a picture of himself sitting beside the dead victim at every crime scene. He wares a black hood in every photograph and is always pointing in a different direction with his left arm in every picture. The police and press have dubbed him the Photograph Killer ane he has kill nine so far.

Maybe you had in mind a game that was more like a cop show. If that's your plan I can scrap this character for later and invent a new one. Just give me a couple of days.

It will have vigillantes in it so your character would still work. And the police are not the main focus at all. In fact the police dept. is very corrupt and that's why we need ordinary people to rise up and do something.

What would you like the title of the rpg to be? It needs to be something dark and serious. A couple of titles that pop into my head are "A Cold Dark Place", "Reality Check", and if the rpg did really well and everyone liked the characters and wanted to keep things going then we could combine the two titles and have "Reality Check:A Cold Dark Place" or "A Cold Dark Place: Reality Check". And in every sequel we would change what comes after the :

She is 17 years old. One year before she made friends with a 21 year old guy named Alexander Maxwell (Alex). Soon they began spending a lot of time together and people started rumours that they were... urk.... ~whispers~ sleeping together. None of them were true though. Key's mother didn't believe her when she said they were untrue and sent her to military school. When she came back, she was still friends w/ Alex. Her mother decided that military school hadn't "straightened her out" and actually put her up for adoption. Alex was extremely unhappy that his friend was suddenly an 'orphan' and decided to do something about it. He adopted her.

Now Kyala lives with Alex and his 20 year old roommate Ethan in a trailer.

I'm still thinking of a name for my character, so I'll get back to you on that. But here's a rough background on her:
She has an european background, grew up in England for about half her life (she's approx. 23 or so), then she and her family moved to America. She's an only child, and her dad was a police detective, and her mom was a champion equestrian rider. Both were killed in a car crash....let's just say it had something to do with a case her dad was working on, and he got a bit too close to solving it. She's known for having an eagle eye when it comes to shooting. She works alone, lives in a pretty nice apartment, and has a kitten. She's got a really cheerful personality, but get's really involved when it comes to her work, she's very serious about it. hmmmm....can't think of anything else at the moment. Like I said, still working on the name....nevermind, this name just came to mind:

Michael Henry. Here's a little more background on him. He came from a disfunctional, suburban home, his father was an abusive drunk. He started learning karate at a young age. His sensai became a positive male role model, and father figure to him. One day he came home from school and his father was home early. His father struck his mother and she fell down a flight of stairs and died. He was so drunk he didn't even seem to care or notice what he'd done. My character struck him in a rage, accidentally delivering a fatal blow. He ran away to the city. The police beleive he murdered both his parents and are looking for him. The rest is what I posted previosly.

When my I was young, my freinds and I used to play an RPG we made up based on the world in Captain N: Gamemaster. The team may consist of videogame protagonists who's quest would take them through various gameworlds via "warp zones" For example Mega Man, Simon Belmont and Link might travel from Castlevania to Double Dragon to Super Mario World before completing their quest. I'd like to leave out the "Captain N" aspect of the game, but would anyone be into a Gameworlds RPG?

I was also thinking about the RPG board. Why does it have to be called World's Finest RPG? There's only so many World's Finest RPGs you can have. That just means everything else is "Off Topic." I was thinking, why don't you split the RPG Boards, have a Worlds Finest and move all the "Off Topic" to another RPG board. We could call it RPG Realm, or something else corny like that:). Or mabe just rename this board so that there won't have to be all these "Off Topic" RPG Threads. It would also be good it we wanted to create our own RPG, you can make everything up, like I suggested above. I don't mean to sound rude or anything, it was just a idea that I thought could work, so please don't take this the wrong way.

If someone wants to start an RPG, they simply post a thread with the same name as whatever they want to call their RPG. If enough players sign up, the RPG stays on the board. If it stays a 1-2 member RPG for a while and no1 else signs up, it gets deleted.

What about it? There's just one tiny little problem with that, only mods can create new threads on this board. I can see the logic behind that kind of decision.

Look at it this way, there have been a good 30 RPG's suggested throughout this thread most of which never got the minimum 5 member's sign-up to start. So you get like one or two people participating (and I'm not saying that this can't work, for awhile the BB RPG only had three active members to keep the story going until we could attract new players) and those people are active and involved with the storyline but since it doesn't get the minimum 5 active participants the RPG gets closed and the members get upset with the mod who closed it. Nobody wins.

At least with the current set-up you'll know if the RPG even has a chance for survival before committing to much to it.

That doesn't mean it can't be done, though.
I would suggest using EZboards(any1 can join, set up a board and start playing in max 20 hours). I've personally used the board once as a discussion forum for a bigger RPG(graphics, programming & stuff), and i'm part of Gotham City RPG, a thriving forum-based roleplaying game that shows how well RPGs can work with EZboards. If you decide to make a project of your idea, i'd happily work with you.

PS: Not to brag, but i've gotten a lot of credit for ideas/stories meant for the major RPG mentioned above.
