Any girls here ever dated (or currently date) a guy shorter you?

Conversely, any guys here ever dated (or currently date) a girl taller than you?

I used to date a girl who was an inch taller than me, but I'd like to know if there is anyone here who had 4 or 5 inches advantage over their partner.

I dated a guy that was just like an inch taller and almost dated a guy that was a little shorter and younger. Not sure if height matters to some people, but I think it does for me. I just have this random thing for liking and preferring to date guys that were taller then me by a good few inches.

I think taller has an upside (pun not really intended but then again they're so fun!) considering you can usually see if your partner has their fingers crossed and trying to "hide" them from you, if they're the type that does that when they're saying something they don't mean is true. I know that's a pretty insecure thing though...

I'm 5'11" and most girls I've dated are shorter than I or of equal height, too. I've been interested in a few that have cleared 6'0", though - not too many of them out there.

Dated no. I went out twice with a guy who was about 5" shorter than me, and I felt really awkward. Slow dancing was especially painful. Things didn't work out for other reasons but I think it would have been hard.

One boyfriend I had was an inch or 2 shorter than me so I guess I never minded too much. I didn't have to stand on tippy-toes to kiss him.

I guess in the long run it's a personal thing to have a guy who's taller than I am. Taller and perhaps bigger, to give me that "safe and secure" feeling I wouldn't get from a "vertically challenged" gentleman. :)

Well, I'm 6' 4", so it is kinda hard to date a girl taller than me :p . All of my girlfriends have been shorter than me.

I preferred to date taller men, but being close to 6' kind of made that a tough criteria to adher to, and I even wound up marrying someone an inch shorter than me. No big deal :)

I'm 5'11 and have never dated anyone taller than me. In all honesty, regardless of all the talk of models being 6' (and most female Marvel charcaters too) I very rarely see a lady taller than me - so it's never been a problem - I don't think it would bother me, although I prefer someone I don't have to stretch to cuddle.. :D

I'm about 5'9" and most guys are taller than me. Most.

I have dated a few guys that are shorter than me, and it is kinda odd as far as dancing is concerned. Otherwise, no big deal. :p

Mostly, I don't see what the fuss is about. I'm cool with your height! :cool:

I have yet to meet a guy shorter than me. Although, as for preferences, I would probably prefer a guy who was my equal height or only a bit taller. I could never go out with a guy who was too much taller, I would feel like a kid sister or something.

I would never date a female the same height as me again. I would never date one that was taller than me.

I perfer them a few inches shorter. At least 3, 5'7 is nice. 5'8 is pushing it. 5'7 or 6 is very nice. I like them this height for many reasons. Most of them would do with positions. ;)

I also like my girls thin. Not boney or sick looking. This also has to do with positions.

My last boyfriend was about a foot taller than me and my current boyfriend is more than a foot taller than me (I think he's 6'2, 6'3?)

I don't favor tall men or anything, it's just how it happened O_o

I only had one girlfriend, and she was about a couple of inches taller than me and pretty thick too (she plays sports and other activities). This was about 3 years ago and I was about 5"6' and she was about 5"8' or 9'.

She came across as kinda doofy looking to me, but when I hug her, she was like a teddy bear. So maybe I have a thing for girls taller than me. BUT, the girls I have kinda fallen in love with since then have all been shorter. Go figure...

Part of the reason I have trouble with girls is that most of the ones I like are too short for me. I'm like just under 6 foot tall and everytime I like a girl, they won't go out with me, but they'll go out with a guy the same height as them. And for some reason, I've never been into tall girls (with exceptions of course). Besides my height, I'm a decent looking guy, but I guess some girls don't like a guy that much taller than them..

Well, since I'm 5'8, it's been about half and half. Half of my boyfriends have been shorter, and the other taller. I didn't ever really care enough to notice it at the time. :)

I have to admit that I've always had a preference for taller guys. Only dated one who was my height (5'5"), and although we got along well, I always felt a tiny bit awkward.

My present boyfriend is 6'4" tall, and I really like it that way. There's just something wonderful about being able to cuddle up to him and feel secure in any situation! Besides, it's fun to watch people's reaction to him when we walk into a restaurant or movie theater. :)

And get this....he's a security officer! So when he's in uniform (with his badge and all the accompanying gadgets), he can look pretty intimidating.

I like my girls round 4'11" - 5'3". Any shorter and well... then they're 12. I really like the saying "I like a girl I can fold up and stick in my pocket". I'll date someone who's taller... (within reason... I don't want to be towered over) if they strike me just right (the second rib down on the left hand side with a swift jab then make a quarter circle turn of the right wrist and a carefully switched sandbag for my right shoe, you know, to avoid setting off the booby trap.

Heh. My friend's 5'-ish, and her boyfriend is about 6'3, 6'4. I love them both, but they still look really funny beside each other, because when they hold hands, he's almost stooping. ^_^'

I felt a little funny at first when I started dating my current boyfriend, cos....well....there IS 11 inches difference in our heights! But I asked him after we'd been together for a few months if it bothered him, and he assured me, "no way!" And we have no problems when we dance; he just bends his head to my shoulder and I lean against his chest/collar bone, and everything's wonderful!

I have to take a few more/quicker steps to keep up with him if he's in a hurry (cos he's got legs for days!), but other than that, things are perfect. It's actually kinda fun! ;)

Your one of us giants huh? Both me and my brother are 6'2. Actually we hit the 6 foot mark three years ago at 13. So we have never seen much less dated women taller than us. We like them in the range of 4'11-5'4. Yeah DSS women. ;)

I don't think I'll have any problem with that because I don't think there any men (that I know of) who are shorter than me. :D Oh....I'm only 4' 10".....BTW. :rolleyes: Heck....even 4th grade boys are taller than me. :o

Probably. I'm around that height, but I never thought about it until recently.

Still, Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman are there to disprove the stereotypes about height. (Yes, Hoffman has gotten lucky more than a few times in his life)

Yeah Joe I know:). But it's like almost all girls are taller than me nowadays, and even the ones that aren't where platform shoes and such so it definately puts me at a disadvantage. There just aren't any girls of average height around here, the ideal height for girls I'd date would be like 5'4 to 5'5, but there aren't ANY! I would date a girl taller than me, but I guess they find that weird or something, being older and taller than a girl is like a must for most of them, just another mystery of the universe. :p
