This isn't really a news board item since it's filled with personal opinions, so I'll put it here:

INteresting article. I'm still really pumped for the SLIGHTLY EDITED Cowboy Bebop. Should be interesting. Hopefully it won't be the slightly less edited Canuck version. (Canada usually gets different anime versions than the US)

I'd assume this post was originally posted to the news board, but has since been redirected to the WBC; otherwise I'd say, "Just because it's filled with personal opinions, don't let that stop you from posting it here; it's pretty much de rigeur @ the WBC, as you well know."

I think "Harvey Birdman" sounds like the funniest one. I want to see Scooby Doo get busted for posession too....

I am looking forward to all of the shows on Adult Swim, well except for Cowboy Bebop, cuz I have the entire series on DVD, but for the rest, I doubt I will turn the TV off for the entire block.

The American TV world needs a Faye Valentine and an Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV.

I agree! And while I applaud it being on CN, I still am not watching it. And what difference does it make? I am not a Nielson house hold!

I won't be watching any Adult Swim as I don't get it here, but I'm excited to see how others react to it.

This is all moot since CN refuses to put a Uncensored Cartoon block in A.Swim. This is outright traversty.

That's true. I haven't seen the other shows (other than Home Movies and Space Ghost), but there are a lot of things in CB that CN hasn't aired before.
When CN aired Blue Submarine 6, they edited out all the cigarettes so that when the characters brought a lighter up to their mouths, the lighter lit absolutely nothing. In CB, the characters are frequent smokers (hey, it's space noir...) and Faye's choice of clothing is rather...liberal for CN.
There are a few episodes that deal with drug use and smuggling, and a few others that imply sex. (The sex is never shown, but characters are shown in bed together--not much worse than in The Simpsons, though).
And also, not ALL the episodes of CB aired in Japan on network TV. As I understand it, a few of the tamer ones aired on networks, while the rest aired on cable. If even Japan had problems with it, how does CN expect to air all of it?
