I was raised in the Church of Christ(no, not the cult), and eventually the "technicallities of the world" started to bother me, and I decided to spend the better part of my teens studying...well...everything.
I've studied the bible greatly since I was a child, but since then I've also studied Evolution, all forms of science, other religious beliefs, and paranormal beliefs. Needless to say, while I do NOT know EVERYTHING, and I may not be able to immediately remember everything at the top of my head, I at least know enough to back up everything I say. And everything I say may not be correct, I can't and wont say...but if I do say something(towards or against any side of a subject), at least I can back up what I'm saying with a bible verse, or a proven scientific study...
And yet, there are so many people out there...they dont know much, if anything about religion, and the very few little things that they've heard from science...well, they use few tiny facts to base their own personal beliefs.
I simply cannot respect that in any way...sure, they may be less stressed since they dont need to worry or care about it...but, in the end...that's the big problem. "In the end"...is there heaven, hell, riencarnaton, or nothingness? With all my studies...I can only fear the worst, really.
But I still can't respect anyone who has no basis on their beliefs. People who believe in a scientific theory, which was told to them by a teacher 2 years ago, and I had to tell them, it was actually disproven(I'm not lieing...this actually happened today).
People preach about God, but know nothing of the bible. People worship Darwin, but know nothing of what he was really about. People believe in Evolution and know not of it's studies. People speak of Bhudda, but don't even know the first thing about Bhuddism.
Everyone seems to be all bark, no bite. Pick up the bible and read it for a change. Go online and read the latest studies in evolution...please...something, anything. But people really need to stop basing their entire belief structure on a few misconstrued facts.....and it seems to me, it's the majority who does that, not the minority...
