I'm a writer for the Chicago Tribune and am working on a story about the popularity of cartoons among adults, from anime to "Adult Swim" comedies. I'd like to interview some Chicago-area adults who are toon fans. If you'd be willing to talk with me, either by phone or in person, please contact me at the info below. Thanks for your help!

I think he made this post as an actual "post" and I don't think he's gonna reply. Contact the info I guess.

I get that impression, too. But, if he is going to be reading these posts, I hope he'll come back sometime and share the finished article with us. It sounds pretty interesting. :)
Am I like the only person from Chicago here? I'm a bit disappointed, I thought there would be more.

Are you going to do the interview? If you go ahead with it, keep us updated on it. :bosko: It'd be cool to hear how it goes and see the final article.

Maybe you should post over on the toonami board as well...
(There are some anime fans who never seem to check this board)
At the last toonami board age poll, about a quarter of respondents were over 22.

Thanks for the tip. I'll do that.

One other thing you may want to consider doing (if you're not already) is to look through the archives of the Adult Swim and General Animation Board forums to try and get a general sense of people's opinions. Now I'm not sure if you need exact quotes (quoting "ToonFan603" might not fly well with the editors), but by reading through old posts, you may be able to develop a stronger sense of some of our general opinions regarding animation.
Of course this isn't as good a source a one on one interviews, since you can't determine people's age and this is a generally informal setting, but I think it would be a good source for some generalizations. Anyway, you may be doing this already, but, if not, hope this helped.

If you're going to do the interview maybe you should mention how pissed off we are that Adult Swim action started cutting the openings.

I don't think something as trivial as show openings needs to be mentioned in the newspaper.
I consider it trivial because CN has to have specific reasons for doing what they did, and they are already aware of what happened.

When the point of the article is to showcase how adults actually do follow and enjoy animation, it doesn't help to feature a lot of *****ing and moaning about opening, editing, and various other things we, the privlidged, like to complain about. If anything, those sorts of things should ignored due to the fact that it makes us look like stuck up, prissy geeks with nothing better to do than complain about something we should be grateful for in any form.

I was interviewed yesterday.
The article will show up in the Q section of the Chicago Tribune on November 3rd.
...I don't know if I'll be in it, or if I even sound smart, so this might be interesting.
