View Full Version : Hello, I am a clone

The latest joke in my family is that my best friend and I are clones. It's a little funny, while at the same time it's creepy, or annoying.

We look alike. That's the general opinion, anyway. She even went to a toy store a day after I'd been there and the salespeople told her "Welcome back!" She'd never been there before.

We talk alike. Even back when we'd only known each other for a month, we would say the exact same thing at the exact same time.

We laugh alike. Fortunately for me, her mother doesn't point this out anymore.

We like the same music, and movies. Now, it's hard to find two people who are Monkees and BBMak fans. How's that for a combo, huh? How about 2 girls who love Star Wars and Lord of the Rings and Cary Grant movies?

Now, this is the part that is getting a little annoying. We dress alike. Not totally alike, she prefers flare jeans (yuck) while I won't wear anything but wide-legs. But we still wear similiar colors. The other day while shopping we both picked up the exact same sweater. We couldn't see what the other was looking at, but we picked the same thing. We did that twice while shopping!

She got the same keychain as me! she likes my favorite Shakespeare play "Twelfth Night" (though, that's partly my fault), she and I are both getting Irish Tin Whistles for Christmas (hers is a surprise, though)

One difference, though, is that she likes Dragonball Z which I think is the weirdest show on earth and she thinks Weekenders is only "ok".

Is this creepy or just a really cool blessing? I can't decide.

Well actually I am kinda like a clone since I am a twin. The way you and your friend are is the same way we and my brother act, only were blood. We even think the same! (most of the time). Oh and we don't dress the same.

Haha, cool! I'm a twin myself.

Are you guys twins separated at birth? ;) That's really neat how you two get along so well. Ever heard of that story of how somewhere in the world there's someone who looks just like you? Well, that's yours! Your best friend is the someone in the world who looks just like you. How neat!

Wow! That's great. Are you two identical twins or Fraternal twins because we are identical.

Wow, never knew I'd find twins here at the boards! Cool!

Anyway, we can't be twins, she's three years younger than me, so that explanations out. Our moms do have the same maiden name, though. That's strange, too.

twins? awesome! Now back to the original direction of this thread. It sounds like you and your best bud have MANY things in common and have a wondeful time together. But I would watch it, because things could flare up really easily. One moment you're loving that you do everything the same, the next, you wanna rip her hair out because you need some space and individuality. Obviously you have some differences, and you'll get more the older you get. I'd say it's a little bit creepy, fun, a blessing of sorts, but also a pain. And that's not a bad thing, friends can clash all the time, but it can always be really bad if the two of you are so alike in so many ways.

Yeah, that's one of the things I've been worried about. If we did get in a fight... but we're both pretty forgiving people.

I just really hope that we don't get in a major fight over our similarities. That'd be just weird.

identical also, but i wish i was fraternal and she was my brother instead of sister so i'd get to know cute guys :p haha just kidding, i luv my sister to bits.

Does your twin visit these boards? My sister just isn't into comics or anything like that, so she doesn't bother going to Toonzone.

wow that's dfinately freaky. maybe you guys ARE related! :) Or maybe you live at the edge of.......

the Twilight Zone!!!

If you two act like sisters, then fights shouldn't be a problem. :) This summer my sister and I had a MAJOR falling out (which included punches, hits, "I HATE YOU"s, and good stuff like that), which never happened before but we're still cool. The important thing is to give each other some space. We're so alike that being together sucked big time and we wanted to individualize, that's why we didn't choose the same colleges. Plus, it's fun playing tricks on my friends when she comes to visit! :D

That's interesting. I always thought it would be bad if you had major differences. The more things in common, the fewer disagreements that could to arguments.

How strange that this thread came back up. Just yesterday, my mom accidentally called my friend by my name. While talking to me!!!

It's just strange now. ;)
