I kind wish this didn't just apply to adult swim shows, but I guess I will say that Hefner's When the Angels play their Drum Machine's remind me of Inu Yasha, especially the lyrics, "let me let you let me down again, one more time." I don't know why it does. Linkin Park's "In The End" really reminds me of Cowboy Bebop.
Specifically about Spike, Julia, and Vicious.
"I tried so hard

It doesn't even matter"

Two events that are really similar with this:
1)Spike finally got out of the syndicate, however Julia is nowhere to be found.

2)The Real Folk Blues part 2 where it all ends. Spike has been trying so hard to find his lost love and dream, but it doesn't matter at all because it finally ends with Spike, Vicious, and Julia gaining nothing in the end except their deaths.
