View Full Version : Question about Tenchi's run on Adult Swim

Yes, I know it's been a REALLY long time since Tenchi aired on Adult Swim, but I have this burning question and I need an answer.

Why did they only use the first starting for all the Tenchi episodes? I mean, originally they got a new starting for the Dr. Clay arc and the TV series, but on Adult Swim they only used one starting for all the episodes. What's the deal?

From what I've heard (3rd-hand or worse) about it, the Toonami-edited master tapes CN had came without the original OPs, and CN apparently decided not to spend the time & money to switch in any openings besides the first one when it was airing on Adult Swim Action. After all, besides the fanboys, who's going to care? :rolleyes:

This is just conjecture based on rumors - NOT OFFICIAL IN ANY WAY. If anyone with more reliable information wants to chime in, it would be appreciated.

They attached the original OP to the episodes, much like they do for Batman Beyond.

This is good enough for them. It's not worth the effort to attach a second OP.

However, for shows like Yu Yu, Inu, and such, where they are made FOR Adult Swim, if there is multiple OPs, they WILL be shown. It's up to FUNi or Viz, or whathaveyou.

Same with the endings to, right? *can hardly wait for her gals Ayu and BoA's turns at Inuyashas ending songs on US tv*

Of course, just look at DBZ. And to add to that, why would they bother getting the Tenchi Universe OP and make an ad for it if it was going to be on once?

I know Yu Yu Hakusho and Cowboy Bebop's openings are attatched to the episodes, but I'm not sure about Inu-Yasha. IY's openings seem to be aired seperately, because the TV-14 airs at the start of the episode, not the opening. That's just the way it seems, I'm not sure if that's the case or not.

I hope they show those opening/ending credits with the themes. BoA is sweet! :D
