Do you really think escaflowne is probable to come to adult swim.I actually don't think that escaflowne is good enough for as if it were to go to CN I would rather see it on toonami.I would rather see kenshin ,record of lodoss war OVA or the one and only dare I say it TRIGUN! on adult swim . In other words i don't want to see escaflowne on as it dosen't look as good as these other 3 shows i just mentioned. What do you think? Do you want to see it on adult swim?

Umm..It's not going to happen, Fox owns the rights still, and they sure aren't going to just hand them to the compitition.

Thanx for playing.

I think it would be better to say that it's not going to happen soon. It still might happen after Fox's rights expire. ;) Call me a dreamer if you like...

Fox has a 5 year contract of the TV rights to Escaflowne (probably the same goes for Slayers). Once that contract expires, Bandai will reposess the TV rights and go looking for other TV companies to air (Cartoon Network) so that their product could still generate more revenues. And unless my brain is dead, that 5 year contract is almost up. Still got 1 more year to go!

Damn you 2003! Well I'm sure Cartoon Network will snatch up the rights to Slayers (YESSSSSS) and Escaflowne as soon as it is released. Then eventually they will be shown on Toonami/Adult Swim Action.

What I don't get is how Fox can screw up such a great series like that? Oh well, we can wait a year or two.

<Sean> Still interested in Escaflowne after watching the movie.

He still wants it as to that date. Maybe they'll take it. Depends.

Fox just sold CN the rights to rerun Futurama. Since they're not doing anything with Escaflowne right now, it doesn't seem TOO unlikely that they'd be willing to sell the TV rights to CN for the right price. What's unlikely is that CN would be willing to buy those rights when they could just as easily wait for Fox's rights to expire, at which point they could deal with Bandai, who they have a much more amicable relationship with.

But that's just my view on the situation, I could be wrong.

In any case, even if CN DOES ever show a desire to pick up Escaflowne, I'm not sure that they'll want to spend the money to re-edit it. So unless it's on Adult Swim (in which case they could probably show it uncut), they'd probably stick it on Toonami with the horrible Fox edits.

We Escaflowne fans can keep hoping... but me, I'm going to start saving up my cash for the DVDs. (-:

Blah, Escaflowne's better than all those :p Well, may as well say 2, since I've never seen Trigun although I can't imagine that being better than Esca. If its a quality issue, its no problem. Escaflowne's one of the best animes ever made. High budget animation, no filler, and since people liked Bebop's music so much, may as well bring another Kanno anime on. I would say it doesn't really fit on Adult Swim though, well in a perfect world. Would be great for Toonami and wouldn't need too many cuts (would cruise through unedited on ASA), but considering they air stuff like Pilot Candidate and Yu Yu Hakusho on Adult Swim, Esca wouldn't stand out as a show that isn't as mature as other shows on the block.

Its a pointless argument anyway, we won't ever see the series on CN because of the FOX debacle. The movie's a totally different matter, I see no reason why they couldn't get that for ASA, considering its stand alone and licensed by Bandai.

And unless my brain is dead, that 5 year contract is almost up. Still got 1 more year to go!

Well, they acquired it in early 2000. So 5 years minus 2.5 years = one year! I wish. :( We've got a long, long wait ahead of us before that contract expires.

Well, if Fox and not Bandai created the editted version, it disappears with the Fox license. Bandai gives WS the uncut version and voila!

Yeah, WS wouldn't get the Fox version if they picked it up. But, as far as I know, Fox lost the rights to Disney when they sold them all the properties on Fox Kids.

Not to mention the rights to Ripping Friends reverted back to Spumco after Fox Kids fell on its ass.

It's probably because the movie sucks. That's the only reason I could think off.

I thought Fox acquired Escaflowne at 1998. That's why I thought there's one more year to go.

I don't see why Esca wouldn't air on AS since Inu-Yasha made it, which is another fudal love story, albeit on inferior in plot to Esca.

Yeah, I agree with ClockStomper - there's no reason why Esca couldn't fit on ASA: there's plenty of action; there just also happens to be other stuff besides action going on too. But it seems to me that that's also true of stuff like Bebop.

I'd much rather see the series than the movie, tho' - series = excellent; movie = bleh.

The movie was god-awful. The series was amazing though, if anyone hasn't watched it yet, watch episode 14, it's my favorite in the series.

There's one song that plays when the Ispano ship appears that's beautiful. Kanno never ceases to astound me. I think it was also the first episode to play "Epistle", but do NOT watch the dub. If you listen to the seiyuu for Dilandau during the fight scene (not gonna give anything away), the fear in his voice is really noticable. I forget which one of the Ocean group did his voice in the dub, it's been a while. But I know she sucked. All his dragonslayers sounded like 12 year old girls. Pity. Ah well, back to watching the last episode of Bebop. The greatest dub ever.

I just found this out today but was posted in the summer on some anime news site. The Creative Director of Toonami wants to air Evangelion, Samurai X, Kikkaider, Nadesico, and Escaflowne sometime on CN in the next few years.

Yep. The song's called 'Farewell', one of the best on the soundtrack :D One of the best eps not only cause of the content, but also get to hear three of the best songs (Epistle, Farewell, Perfect World) for the first time in that ep :)

Andrew Francis. Wasn't bad in Key the Metal Idol or DBZ, but he was clearly miscast as Dilandau. The Dragonslayers were voiced by Venus Terzo in multiple eps, which is why they sounded like little girls (although in the previously mentioned ep they're all voiced by Francis, who doesn't make any effort to make them sound different, totally screwing things over @_@)

hey, r u serious or just shooting out rumors? if it's true that Kenshin is coming, it's Great! I've seen the sub version and it was great but haven't got the chance to watch the dub version. I really recommend they show it next year January...it'll be a good start and on TOonami, not Adult Swim. It's just that i don't wanna wait one week, i'll lost my interest.
