Look, I AM A HUUGGEE FAN OF THE POWERPUFF GIRLS, but there haven't been any NEW episodes since Augest 2002. I've heard rumors from other sites that The Powerpuff Girls will be having 20 new episodes in 2003, starting off with a Christmas special in December 2002. I don't know if this is true or not. Can somebody please confirm this for me? Also if their are new episodes in 2003 can somebody please post a NEW episode schedule. Thank You!!!!!

The Christmas special doesn't have a definitive date. It could be done..technically...very cheap and rushed.. by this December, but the likely airdate would be December of 2003.

Season 5 consists of 3 Season 4 episodes and 13 Season 5 episodes. Season 5's episodes haven't and cannot be revealed at this time, but we know that Season 4 has a rock opera episode.

Season 5 is a big stepping stone for the show, as the team will be switching to digital animation, and the character, background, and animation design will be reshaped to match the look of the PPG movie.

This is the first time I've heard that, and I confess to some apprehension. I'd hate to see the show lose it's distinctive look.

The switchover to the movie designs I can live with, even if I think the new Mojo bears resemblence to a baboon.

Craig said they would be switching to the design used in the movie, and using the digital animation to have more freedom with the camera. Expect season 5 to look similar to the movie.

Eh. If anything it'll just look like the movie, only without all the hi special effects. The backgrounds will stay hand-painted though, thank GOD! (refers to Dex season 3)

What hi-special effects? Besides the 3D globe and the somewhat better looking explosions?

What I'm expecting to be improved is the terrain damage. In the movie, when the ground got torn up, IT GOT TORN UP. Craters in the ground left by the girls looked like actual damage for once, instead of some 2-color afterthought.

The 3D robot monkeys, the Professor's 3D car, the terrain damage, during the tag scene whenever the girls turned a corner, the alley scene (the entire alley was 3D), the smoke and the steam.

Unless they give Craig a higher budget, I'm betting it'll remain the same.

But it's background design.. it's not like the terrain damage is a computer effect. It's just that they put actual effort into it.

I coulda sworn they already switched to digital animation, "Nano of The North" and "Forced Kin" sure looked like it, did they just one-up they're hand animation techniques or am I correct and that is digital ani?

way the movie went at the box office, i'm surprised gennedy hasn't been fired already and wound up replacing derek drymon for the next season of spongebob only because they felt 'sorry for him'.

Well, halfway. Until then PPG was entirely analog. Those episodes were done on a computer, but still painted by hand. Similar to the process of Samurai Jack and the newer Johnny Bravo episodes.
