Private Eye Princess
Friday, November 29, at 10 p.m. (ET, PT)

Cartoon Network debuts the 30-minute Cartoon Cartoon special Private Eye Princess on Friday, November 29 at 10 p.m. during The Premiere Premiere Show on Cartoon Cartoon Fridays. Created by Debby Solomon, Private Eye Princess is about a wacky member of a royal family who turns to sleuthing when her family is evicted from their castle. She gets her biggest case ever when Mr. Meanie, her new landlord, hires her to track down some “walking jewels.” Though a mysterious knight in shining armor turns up everywhere to foils her efforts, this plucky princess never loses her gung-ho spirit.

I did a little investigative in Animation Magazine, and discovered that Debby Solomon is actually a male (shocker to me). Apparently he was attending a film festival in NYC, back in June of 2000. Mo Wiliems and members of Courious Pictures (Sheep in the Big City) were also present. Debby's real name is Alex Gorlin. Check out the link:

Actually he's the creator, not the voice talent.

Oh.

Then, why is he calling himself 'Debby'? Surely the industry knows by now, it's possible for people of one gender to make sucessful cartoons starring the other (the name 'Craig McCracken' springs to mind...)
