Do I dare ask why Eddy's tongue is green?

Whenever I watch Ed, Edd & Eddy, the thought of why Eddy's tongue being green creeps into my mind. I'm almost afraid to ask but I will. Why is his tongue green?

Your tongue can turn green with gunky buildup if you don't brush very well. Really, you're supposed to thoroughly brush your teeth AND tongue regularly.

Anyway, excessive Jawbreaker and Candy eating. That and it's funny to see everyone with a different colored tounge:
Edd's: Blue- Green
Ed's: Yellowish
Everyone else is a mix somewhere between Green, blue and Yellow.

It's because he licked Rolf, and we all know how gross Rolf is.
And why is Edd's tounge blue? He eats toothpaste. And why is Kevin's red? He tried to make out with Nazz and he got lipstick all over his mouth, and then she got mad at ripped out all his hair except for the 3 that stick out.
