Forgive me if this sort of thread has been started before, but something's been nagging me about "Courage". Eustace and Muriel... sweet couple, eh? No, seriously, it seems that Eustace doesn't care that much about the darling little old lady (and really, she deserves better (as does Courage)). Have there been any instances where he's shown some affection for her? Think of all the examples you can!

I'm drawing a blank at the moment and besides, who (except you) really cares?

Eustace sometimes defends Muriel, mostly because he doesn't want to have to cook dinner himself.

But his greatest affections go to his truck.

and his negative feelings go to Courage.

I think Eustace just has that wall around him. He likes Muriel.

Eustace does love Muriel, but he doesn't show it often. Look at McPheatson's Phantom, by the end of that one he was hugging her! And he has stuck up for her more than one. He does have that "wall" though
