I don't know if its the "best" but its one of the largest around. Many sites offer forms to talk about Adult Swim, but this one has lots of cool people on it. :cool:

Think of it as specialized communities. Each AS forum has certain types of posters, with very few having many intelligent posters with varying opinions. Like every board, this one has some people who need to think more before they post, but unlike many of the others, I think this one has had some of the best mods and most intelligently discussed topics. Does it make it the best forum? Not by a long shot since each forum offers something a little different, but it is my favorite one.

Nah. I'd have to say that it's one of the WORST boards of any kind. Lots of power-tripping and general nazi behavior going on there. That, and the "stupads", as mentioned before.

Hi there, this is a reply from Lim the Skit.

Shade is right, I am the one that's been trying to clean the place up. I dont' know if you saw, but a few months back, this place was a LOT worse than it is now. Basicly, take what you see now, fill it up with about 60% more spam threads, and about two Adult Swim topics, and posters doing nothing but posting stuff like "Fart!", and well, that's what it was like. Then I came in, posted a nice big ANGRY rant detailing a propsed rule set, that I actually had to go in and tell people that it was a propsoal and that they can go in and comment and whatever AFTER I SAID IT IN THE MAIN BODY OF THE POST, but, ok, anyway, so then OSK came in, and made some adjustments and then the curret rules got in (well, aside from the stuff about the cursing, that's pretty new what with the paid board stuff). So, yeh, we have more a mix of off-topic and Adult Swim, and we only seem to really talk about Adult Swim in the review threads, or when the news is actualy current, and we're more sarcastic than other boards, but, meh.

Will I admit to maybe going overboard at times on the modding? HELL YES. But you know why? Because I actually DO give a damn about this stuff. Trust me, I've been on boards that've been a LOT worse than ours tends to be at times, and a LOT of the rules I put in to keep the place from going that way. While people have made claims that Iv'e become a jerk ever sicne I've become a mod, the truth is I'm only a jerk to people that break the rules that have been there a while or new posters that BLATENTLY break the rules (I mean, if someone goes and posts with a huge sig twice in a row in the same thread, I'll edit it and just ask them to read the FAQ and explain why I did nicely. But if someone's coming in all "Fart Fart burp I want debbie's butt in my sandwich nose pick goober goober goober", then yeh, I'm gonna really yell at them cause they're being a moron on their first post). If it keeps going on, then yes, I am a jerk TO THEM because they're breaking the rules. jsut liek cops do. That's what a MOD IS SUPPOSED TO DO. MODERATE THE BOARD. EZBoards doesn't exactly give you a very good private message system keep in mind, so I do have to yell at people directly on the board a lot, but thats only to the real jerks. Although, i think it's better that I don't have banning power, since i can say right now that we'd probably be down two memebers (and I think they know who they are, so if they're probably reading this, hi guys!).

Did we ever say we were some kind of "Play nice with the other children paddy cake baker's man" kind of board? NO. We are more open with the rules, but when things DO start getting out of hand really, we DO try to take care of things, but one of the problems is when people leave and say they're not coming back, and theres no way to get in contact with them to try and get them back in and stuff. Yes it sucks, and yes I wish it wouldn't happen, but that's what does happen, so what am I supposed to do about it. So, while it may seem that there is some power hunger nazi things going on over there (which I'd like examples actually, but I can say that the stuff with me and seanlargey seems like something, but, that's a whole other matter), if you actualyl read each and EVERY post like I make myself do, it kinda becomes less of that and more that we just don't like talking about the same threads that have been done to death seemingly every other day. Maybe it's not the best system, but hey, at least it's making people come up with ORIGINAL topics ("Father, bless me, I, I poked a badger with a spoon.").

Oh, and don't get me started on advertising spam. Those guys REALLY deserve what they get, and I just have fun giving it to them ;P

Please folks, I really don't want to see this become some sort of war between the A.S. boards. The internet is more than big enough for 2 or 3 or 100 Adult Swim forums. The more the better, since it helps spread the word about A.S. and bring it to the attention of more people.

Every forum community has it's own rules and environment, and it's up to the individual to decide which one they feel most comfortable at. Taking shots at another forum because they do things differently is pointless and only serves to create animosity. So please cut it out before this thread is closed.

BTW, tell Lim I'm sorry about not being able to register. I have it turned off until the server move is done so that no registrations get lost in the process.

Shadeone is defending our board. I go by the name Admiral Tailz there, and I am a grizzled vetran of around 800 posts at OSK's fine board. It's better than your board because we have fun. We don't have a bunch of nazi mods who delete your post is you so much as think of disagreeing with or flaming someone unlike sometoonzone boards do. We have a laid back atmosphere there.

I see it as more of a big extended family than an internet forum. I can joke with and insult these people. They know I don't mean it, and I know they don't mean anything back. We have an astoundingly tight-nit community full of awesome people, which is more than this eye-killing forum can ever hope to achieve.

When I look at this board I see nothing but "Which show should be on AS?" or "Poll: What is your favorite AS show?"

The difference between this board and OSK's board? This board is a bunch of uptight nerds who take things too seriously. OSKs' board is the cool kids who make fun of those nerds.

Not that this message matters. One of your Nazi mods will consider it a flame and delete it before anyone can read it. Oh well, it's the thought that counts.

Can't we all just get along? Each board is good in it's own way. I primarily post at OSK's board, but come here during the lulls where no one posts. It's a lot more lively there now though. THere's a strong sense of community at OSK's board, with the making of banners and all the name calling. I don't think there's serious hatred of toonzone, you're just our closest competitors, and you got a bunch of our cooler members like PandaChan and nothing.

Seriously though, just come visit, lurk aorund a few days, and then drop us a word. Seriously. You'll be welcomed with open arms. Or possibly called a ******bag. But either way you'll have fun.

Nazi mods? I may speak German, but that's an exxagerated accusation. Not THAT much flaming occurs here, and when it is it's dealt with. The F.A.Q. is up there for a reason.

Seriously, yeah you're right. Lim's board, which I still go to, has a small community and isn't attached to any site. So yep, it's pretty loose around there. Not to mention it's linked from almost nowhere, keeping the family small. But this is a different board. This is a forum that's more open to the public and that's how Toonzone has chosen to run it. Toonzone chooses to expose itself more and open itself to more users. This board is a board to exchange opinions, ideas, thoughts, and other AS related stuff. We don't expect everyone to be a veteran. We do expect everyone to show some intelligence, and be nice to each other. Toonzone is a family friendly site, wheras Lim's board is more socially oriented to a specific group who are already familiar with each other and can decide what is acceptable around there, including myself.

I have (had) been posting there a year before I discovered Toonzone, and found a much better atmosphere here. Matt and the gang were great, and the new crew is pretty cool too, except for that jerk LFV (j/k ;) ) They're a lot more even tempered here, not booting you because you mentioned that you don't like Freaks and Geeks. I will say that Bobo Adobo is not a bad guy, though.

Anyway, that's just my opinion, so live with it. No reason to start anything based on what I wrote. No reason to shout "our boards being dissed at toonzone.. " :p

No, I don't. Pretty much all of the things were said by me. It's not as if everyone who posts on Toonzone said "They suck! We rock!" Besides my post, there's nothing even remotely negative about the other site, other than Matt's response to Lim (remotely, at best).

Why I mentioned shadeone was because he tried to make something out of nothing. Saying that "our" board's being dissed at toonzone has two flaws:
1. You guys (or rather shadeone) don't post there that often, so this is more of "your" board than the other.
2. It wasn't toonzone, but rather one person (me).

As much as I like Toonzone, I am by no means their representative. Just as you guys aren't their reps. Don't take everything so personal and make it a board war. Seriously, the animosity (and childish banners) didn't exist until I gave my opinion.

Basically, just let it go.

I really don't care that you have anti-Toonzone pictures on your board, but please don't bring them here. That's something only a fifth grader would do. Please show me you're capable of being as mature as you say you are.

Go reread LFV's post. We're a professional, family-friendly website. You're a treehouse club. We deal with troublemakers like any professional website would, because people on here aren't close-knit and CAN and WILL have their feelings hurt if you are vicious to them. You're the Eltingville Club. You bicker and complain but you hang together because you ARE close-knit, you're small, you're on an EzBoard.

You should've known this when you signed up to post on the boards. It's in the rules. And the rules have been this way for years. And we don't intend to change them just for a group of ex-CNX posters that think anarchy should reign. Nevermind the fact that you AGREED that our rules were fair and that you would abide by them by registering, so your arguing is rendered null and void.

The fact is, we (the website) pay hundreds of dollars to keep the website, hosted sites, and forums operational (I know Lim also pays a very very small amount of money to keep his board ad-free). And the people that pay the money, make the rules. It's that simple. So if you want to go make us "un-Nazi", feel free to step up to the plate and handle our bills.
