Congratulations William's Street, Cartoon Network, Soup to Nuts, 70-30 Productions, and Bandai!
You have made a block that has done more in one year than most cable animation blocks do their whole lifespan. Now, you need to air NEW EPISODES!

I remember seeing the first commercials for Bebop and thinking: "Adult Swim?"

A year later, it's basically the only television I watch.

Happy Birthday.

One year ago...

...that was the day I came home late on a Sunday evening and convinced my brother and his friend to let me watch just one episode of "Cowboy Bebop", the only show I was interested in on Adult Swim, before they played "Grand Theft Auto 3" on PS2. I never considered watching the rest of AS then because I thought the other shows were just fillers for "Cowboy Bebop".

Then came Adult Swim Action, and it was good. It had Toonami-edited shows, but I watched them anyway. It had "Cowboy Bebop" and "Yu Yu Hakusho", the best anime on TV at that time thanks to Toonami's slump.

Then, when I was bored, I watched Adult Swim Comedy, and it
was even better. All those shows I missed...I quickly caught up and made sure I never missed them. I started to miss some ASA shows because they were reruns, but I never missed an ASC show.

Now, one year later, both blocks have grown incredibly. ASC is getting some new shows later on, including the secret acquisition, and ASA is proving it isn't a dumping ground for Toonami acquisitions. I see a bright future ahead...and it's practically blinding. And that isn't a bad thing, either.

Happy birthday, Adult Swim. Here's to another and even better year. *runs off to get drunk*

I was so excited when I first found out about AS - I didn't even know about it, just happened to catch it on CN one night, and went supermadcrazy. I was always a big fan of space ghost and cartoon planet, and was glad to see that there was a forum for that kind of humor, and that the good people at Williams Street were making more shows. I am looking forward to another excellent year!

Happy birthday Adult Swim and let's hope it will stay on for many more years to come just like Cartoon Network and Toonami have.

I still have Cowboy Bebop episodes recorded from the first weeks when there was no "Parents Strongly Cautioned" written disclaimer, TV14 pasted throughout the whole episode, a red ADULT SWIM logo, and less commercials. Have the times changed.
