Bandai must be handling it overseas, as Cartoon Network wouldn't be doing any overseas distribution themselves (unless it were to go to their Cartoon Network Japan affiliate, but affiliates don't get new programming until a few months after CN USA, if not more).. and perhaps are helping to release the anime simultaneously.
As for FUNimation getting Tenchi GXP, biiiiiiig deal. I can't stand Pioneer's Tenchi dubs so maybe FUNimation could put out a better one. Seriously, folks. I don't think I can stand hearing Ryoko and Washu channelling Roseanne Barr's vocal chords anymore.

Funi announced One Piece as well
my, Funi is growing indeed, lets see if they can keep up their production schedule (with Dragonball, Furuba, and Yu Yu currently in production)...

Yea. Look at it this way though... not too many characters from the original are in GXP. So its not like its really going to collapse the whole universe if Funi got GXP.
Besides... as much as I do like the Pionner dubs of the other Tenchi series... Funi could probably do a great job. Just look at Yu Yu Hakusho.

Hmm. I wonder if this will have any bearing on the eventual release of Tenchi Muyo OVA3...
Personally, I enjoyed Pioneers dubbing of the Tenchi series, although Matt does have a good point about the Rosanne sound-alike deal.

What is Furuba?
Furuba, AKA Fruits Basket is a title of an anime licensed by funimation, here the story sypnosis:
Toru Honda is a cheerful 16 year old girl. She was orphaned when her mother was killed in a car accident. Not wanting to burden anyone, she buys a tent and begins to live in a forest. She is determined to finish school in order to fulfill her mother's last wish. It turns out that the land Toru is living on belongs to the Soma family. She is quickly invited to live in the Soma house (all males), as long as she is willing to cook and clean. One of the Soma's, Yuki, is the most popular boy at Toru's high school. He is swooned by girls constantly and is even referred to as the "prince" of the school. His cousins Shigure, Yuki's guardian, and Kyo make up the rest of the household. Toru knows that her living environment is out of the norm, but things turn out to get stranger. The members of the Soma family are possessed by animals and they turn into their true selves when they are embraced by the opposite sex! You can imagine Toru's surprise when she witnesses their secret. She promises not to tell a soul, but the "cat" may already be out of the bag.

Wow Yuki is a cat that's disturbing and cool

No, Yuki is a mouse. Kyo is the cat.
Moving on...
All the news about Bandai probably just means that we'll be getting DVD's of The Big O 2 faster than if Warner's Home Video was handling the release, which thankfully means no "best of" release. I don't see how it will change CN's airing of Big O 2.

With FUNi's acquisition of One Piece and the Shonen Jump/Adult Swim connection, One Piece is sure to be heading to Adult Swim action!
Woo!
I also heard that Nelvana (cardcaptors) has picked up Rave Groove Adventure...a pretty cool anime series, that may be on Toonami though I dont htink it would fit in well with Kids WB, but maybe.

Nelvana sucks. I don't see why anyone would give them another anime series after they ****ed up Card Captor Sakura beyond belief. I just want this company to cease to exist.

Just so you knowq, they weren't given anything. They gave whoever owned the series a ton of money, and that company gladly handed it over.(Note: I am not saying I like Nelvana as a anime distributor[as have been noted on many occasions, their version of CCS is some of the worst tripe on earth], but that's just the way things work. As the old sayinmg goes "Money makes the world go round." f you or anyone else hate a certain company so much, make a ton of money and then bury the competition. It worked for Vince McMahnon and the WWE, so it can work for you as well.)
