As I said before I think it's a bad idea...BUT I watched it yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I'm still not happy about it but THAT'S MY and some OTHERS THOUGHTS. YOU PEOPLE DON"T HAVE TO BE SO RUDE THAT I GAVE MY THOUGHTS.
I only wanted to know if anyone agreed. I didn't think I would get my butt bitten off....kami people can't I speak my mind with out getting chewed on.

But someone wanted to know where I was from...I am from Pittsburgh and I have see Cowboy Bepbob and all the other shows....well gomen' if anyone that had a cow...didn't think saying it would blow people's mind...

What is this post in relation to...cause I'm sure if it's based on someone's thread, you could've just posted it IN THAT THREAD.

And it is still MY OPINION that YOUR OPINION is not well thought out and in a way is STUPID.

I also don't have to mix in the few Japanese words I know to make it seem like I know something.

Look people agree and disagree on message boards ALL the time. The fact that people disagreed with you that the reason IY was going to be bad -- namely that it was coming to America and was being translated and dubbed -- doesn't mean you can't have that opinion. But when an overwhelming number of people disagree with you, then it could just mean you're taking your opinion a little too seriously.
I mean, I don't complain that American movies are subtitled and or dubbed in various languages and shown in other countries, or that some of our TV shows get the same treatment on foreign TV stations. And if someone saw one of our shows, even if it was one I REALLY liked (let's take 24 for example, I thought that was excellent), well I wouldn't say it was AUTOMATICALLY going to be terrible just because another country was showing it in their language.
You have to realize, IY is a good show, it will have many fans, and it has a MUCH better chance to attract attention and get lots of viewers if it has English dialogue rather than Japanese dialogue. The fact is, Americans don't like to read while they watch TV. Anyway, in the future, if your opinion on something is I DON'T LIKE THIS FOR THIS REASON, EVERYONE AGREES WITH ME WHO I KNOW, SO YOU CANNOT DISAGREE, then I would suggest that maybe you keep that opinion to yourself...

Are you writing in English or Japanese? :confused: Can you pick one language and stick with it all the way through your message? It makes it easier to understand for the "non-otaku" out there such as myself reading this.

Here's a tip for you in the future. When you're trying to sound 'cool' and 'elite' by interspercing japanese words with english, atleast get them right. Nothing makes you look worse than using some wrong, which you did.
I frankly don't even know, or care what the subject of the thread is so I'll stop there.
Word of advice. If you don't want people to chew you out, then don't start threads like these. Especially when you already have one with the same topic. Newbies, when will they learn. Otaku, there just japanese poseres who think they know anime.

Giving your opinion is one thing. For example, I might say "I really hate the Oblongs." But if I then followed that statment with something like "And since I hate it, then no one should get to see it EVER, and those people who foolishly brought it to television should rot in hell! It shouldn't be on TV because I don't want people watching cartoons that I despise!" then I'd be moving from "stating my opinion" to "unmitigated arrogance" and would be deserving of a cut down.

lots of sladerous statements from the peanut gallery. i like most people who have read this are curious about what this topic was about, i think i understand what it was trying to say. let me try to divine the meaning of all of this.
Point of the Thread - to express the feelings that the IY premier had on a person who had seen probably a Fansub of it.
Point Made - the poster said it wasnt as bad as they thought it would be (much like a bunch of people who first saw CB and thought it was going to bomb) but still didnt retain enough of the original qualities they enjoyed in it.
My Point - after sludging through most of that crap, i have to make a report on what i feel after reading it all. first, i think it is harsh and very insulting to simply say "Otaku, they're just japanese poseres who think they know anime." (corrected for grammer) and throw into the conversation some type of anger or dislike for people who are for all points and purposes calling themselves geeks anyways.
i think since i did not watch the IY premier (i had something better to do that night) i really cant comment one way or another but i can say that it was sort of a wake up call to see people jump on another person so visciously over one stupid statement thus proving the provoker to be right that everyone would jump at him. personally, i dont give a ****. let a person make a statement that is ludicrise...like someone else said...its just a message board, and that works both ways.

Sorry, Kagura, but please try to type in an understandable and rational manner. I don't mean to offend you, but if you keep acting in an arrogant way, you won't have a very good time here.
I can't understand why you even said some of that random stuff, but I'm guessing that you meant to post in another thread.
