View Full Version : Why Inu-yasha?!?!

okay I really don't like the idea of Adult swim putting Inu-yasha on. I really do hate the fact it's in America. (I'm no the only person that feels this way)

I really like the Japanese Inu-yasha and it's really funny. But I'm just really ticked that the American's will mess-up it up. (Dubbing it and cutting out parts.)

I want to know if there is anyone else out there that feels the same way as me and my friends...we don't think putting it on is a good idea. (Well I guess I'm going to have to watch it and see how bad it is....but still)

GRRRRRRRR

Sesshoumaru: U aren't suppose to grawl you ningen...
Kagura: Sesshy I love you...don't be an America...<Hug to death>
Sesshouamru: *confused*....................

How about you just be happy that there is a block that can air anime that isnt edited for 7 year olds. Why do you hate the fact that its "in America", wouldnt you want a show that you love to get exposuer on a channel that will actually air it without editing it for children? Sure, some edits will be made by WS but just be happy that it will air under the TV-14 label instead of on Toonami.

I'm just happy to see it. :)

Isn't it a little early to be insulting the show? You don't know what it is going to be like, and who know? Maybe AS will surprise you and do an excellent job on IY (that's what I'm hoping for, anyway).

And on behalf of all Americans...ouch.

Another one of those raving Otakus that think everything in Japan is great and everything in America sucks. So what if it comes to America, will it really ruin it? I'm glad more shows come to America so that more people will get to see it. People like you will always think it will be bad and no matter how good it is it will never be good enough. If you have an open mind instead of one that says "Anime in america, oooh that is bad GRRRRRR, they will ruin this great Japanese masterpiece because America is stupid and Japan is great." Just get over it. Sorry if I sound hostile.

I can't vote on that poll yet because I haven't seen the show and I don't know what any of the characters look like. If it isn't too much trouble, could someone please attach some pictures to this topic so I can vote. Thanks! :D

I'm quite happy Williams Street has decided to bring Inu Yasha over to Adult Swim. This is actually an anime I've never heard of myself, so it'll be nice to see it w/o horrible, kiddy editing.

Come to think of it, this will be the first anime coming to America that I've never heard of, and will be eager to see.

Good job CN, and keep it up.

Um...okay. It's your opinion. As long as you don't insult others, then it's alright.

Um...NOT okay. Just where are you from anyways, buster?

Have you seen Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim? Have you seen Yu Yu Hakusho? If you have, then you'll know that it'll be treated the same way. Whether that's bad or good, I don't know, but more exposure is always for the best.

And how come there are NO GIRLS on the poll?! :coughKagomecough:

Jeez...

What I think is funny is how American anime fanboys and fangirls wear the name "otaku" proudly. They know nothing really about Japan, just relying on the internet and their animation. If they ever went to Japan, they would go to buy anime-related items, and nothing else. They would cosplay in the streets when there isn't a convention for miles, and they would speak very basic japanese they learned from choppy fansubs. They wear kimonos to school and think all APA's draw in the japanese animation style. They think they're APA, and how they know more about everything in japan. They don't know that the middle east is part of asia, and that afghani's are asian.

Basically, american japanese animation fanboys and fangirls deserve to be locked in their parent's basement with only their animation things for all of eternity, separate from the rest of us.

Good job. :D

I have to agree that it is quite pointless to complain about the English version of a show before seeing it. Yes, the Japanese version of Inu-Yasha was fantastic, and I don't want to see it butchered either, but do we really know that it will be butchered? Shouldn't we wait until tonight to give it a chance? If anything, we should be glad that it made it to the US so quickly.

And I want bishoujo on the poll, too.
Watashi wa Kagome ga hoshii desu... ^^;;

Is it me, or does anyone think that the one girl in the show look very similar to Sailor Mars (Ray) from Sailor Moon? Maybe there will be some hope for a Sailor Moon cameo :D . I'm sure I'll get some major ribbing for that.

She's just in the sterotypical Japanese school girl uniform and her hair is long and black.

Saw it last night and saw nothing wrong with it. Quit blowing smoke outta you're you-know-what, Kagura.

Besides, the Japanese dub American shows as well, and most Japanese understand about the need to dub. I once asked a Japanese friend of mine who was visiting America as an exchange student if she was upset about us "butchering" their anime, and she didn't care what we did. Its not a big deal. The only Japanese people who get so POd about it are the die-hard otaku.

The dub over work is being done the the same company that did Ranma ½ in which IMO, is the best dubbing work done around today. It might not be good enough for you though but it's good enough for me. ;)

I'm a sucker for the feminine-looking ones. Sesshoumaru! (I'd say Naraku too, but he's so much of an ******* that even I can't like him, and that's saying a lot)

What a weird thread! Poll about sexy characters, followed by rants re: the showing of IY on CN and whether or not that's a good thing, followed by a couple posters who are just here for the poll (oh, just noticed dates - there's a month gap between the ranters and pollsters!)

Well, re: the ranters: I'm incredibly happy they're showing it on CN, because now I get to see it (and yes, I'd love to see the sub sometime, and I'll probably get the dvds eventually - especially if they come out with a box set), but for the moment, I'm happy! :D

And re: the poll: I want two votes! How's a girl supposed to choose between Inu Yasha (with cute ears and a terribly good heart underneath all that gruff demon attitude) and Miroku (who's terribly cute even when he's being letchy! :p ) Sigh. . .
