I read an article about a CGI show called "Groovenians" coming to ASC. (If this has been discussed to death lately, by all means close the thread.) Here's the report:
The Groovenians Bring Color and CGI to Adult Swim in November

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to Animation World Network, something totally different is coming to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup, courtesy of artist Kenny Scharf and award-winning director of Invader ZIM, Jordan Reichek.

The Groovenians, a computer-animated half-hour special, premieres on Adult Swim Comedy on Sunday, November 24 at 10:30 PM EST/PST The series, inspired by the works of by pop-surrealist Scharf, is about a pair of trouble-making artists who escape the confines of their boring planet and head to a strange planet called Groovenia, a planet filled with wild inhabitants from all over the universe creating art and having fun (in a normal world, we call them bohemian artists). Think the latter half of Tex Avery's "The Cat Who Hated People" pushed to the nth degree.

The Groovenians was written, produced and directed by Jordan Reichek, who won an award for Best Pilot Series or TV Special for the Invader ZIM pilot at Annecy 2000. It also has a unique vocal cast which includes Paul "Pee-Wee Herman" Reubens, Dennis Hopper, RuPaul Charles, Debi Mazar, and Vincent Gallo, among others and a theme song performed by The B-52's

Looks like this might be the new blood ASC desperately needs.
EDIT:I am very stupid, it's just a special, I read it wrong.

BANJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It sounds pretty cool, though. I was always a big fan of cartoons that reveled in wackiness like "The Cat Who Hated People" or "Porky in Wackyland". And it's good to hear that CN is experimenting with CG.

Were the nipples reccesary on the doll? Really... This in my opinion looks horrid... I mean the shot in CG looks awful! It reminds me of in game graphics in my Sega Saturn @_@ And since when did Jordan Reichek do anything for Zim? Steve Russell was the director of the pilot, Jordan Reichek was proably just the foley artist or something XD;

It's just 1 screenshot. And it doesn't look all that bad. It definitely has an odd style to it, but I don't have a problem with that.

Let's try to at least wait to get a decent look at it before bashing it too much. The only thing that you can really comment on at this point is design.

XD Where do you want me to start on bashing that? j/k I'm just depressed knowing that my Zim will never get the justice he deserved! And the fact that this Jordan Reichek takes so much credit for putting Zim on the air and then takes part in this sea monkey orgy.... ::shivers::

Hey VH1 said orgy why can't I! XD;

Yeah, dude. Saturn ruled. The worst part about the failure of saturn, is, like with the jaguar, people didn't understand that just because the Nintendo 64 said it had 64 bit graphics didn't mean it actually had better graphics than the 32 bit Saturn. Sega always produced the best graphics on the market, no question.

Oh, and since when have nipples ever been excessive? (Ignore Beavis and Butthead and Ren and Stimpy)

Nipples can never get excessive plus this whole saturn thing is off topic heh heh. One of the things that led to the Saturns demise was that it was hard to develop for. If it was easy to develop as PSX who knows how well Saturn would've done.

That's just an ordinary department store manequin with the "sea monkey" head on it. It looks like the design team didn't change anything but the skin color and head.

Looks like we'll have to keep those Marilyn Manson covers out of view :p

I'll give it a chance. The Low Brow Labs.com trailer for Low Brow made it look absolutely hideous, and it turned out great.

This better not be the "Secret acqusition" that ASC has gotten

It isn't. But, for now, the less said about that certain acquisition, the better.
