Well other than being left in the dark about wether or not Melissa Charles will be back as Ed, Columbia as done no wrong with Knockin on Heaven's Door

But doesnt it bother you that Bandai.....................Is not involved with the movie theatrically like they were with Escaflowne but futhermore when the DVD comes out they wont be involved with that.

Not saying that they can do an anime DVD wrong because i've seen the Metropolis DVD but it's possible that KOHD will be a two disc set and that'll suck for those who bought the Bebop boxset.

Bottom line is.

Bandai is not involved in any form so does it bother you?

Why will it suck if it's a two disc set (other than it probably costing more)?

I was a little surprised that Bandai wasn't involved with "Knocking on Heaven's Door", but I'm not bothered by it in the least. I own the "Metropolis" DVD, and it's an outstanding DVD for a wonderful movie. The dub is one of the best I've heard in a long time (not THE best, mind you), and the presentation was very well done.

I'm sure Colombia knows how to handle "Knocking on Heaven's Door"; after all, they did actually get the three most-demanded voice actors from the series back for the movie, as well as other people who worked on the series, so that shows Colombia will treat this movie with the care it rightfully deserves.

And for people who bought the boxsets...now why would it suck for them? Just because they can't put the movie next to the series inside the box? I'm sure no one with the boxsets would care; they'll just put the movie right between their "Akira" and "Ghost in the Shell" DVDs, end of story.

So am I bothered? Not in the least.

Why is Bandia not involved in KOHD? Because Sony, the parent company of Columbia-Tristar, distributed the film in Japan, giving its US subsidiary first choice on the movie. Comlumbia accepted, probably based on the success it had with Metropolis. Bandia really has nothing to do with the movie since Sunrise is the owner of the series anyways, Bandia just picked it up for the US. I'm sure that ther'll be plenty of nice extras on the eventual KOHD release, and hopefully they won't use the same packaging as Metropolis, which was nice, but I like cases better, and instead go with a double disc release in a single style case like Shrek or Snatch, that will easily fit into my very nice Perfect Sessions boxset, since I lkisten to the CD a lot anyways, so it's never in the box :D

Well, folks who bought the boxset might just luck out. After all, Metropolis is a two DVD set, but isn't it small enough to fit in a single-disc slot? If CB:KOHD is given similiar treatment (which I imagine it will), then it should be able to fit just fine, though you might have to squeeze it in a touch.

And how cool would it be if the extras disc was one of those mini-DVDs like in Metropolis? Those things rock...

not to mention the fact that a two disc case thats the size of a single disc case (Like Saber Marionette J) is about $0.50 or less.

You worry too much. Try loosening up. :p

And no. It doesn't bother me at all. I'm sure they'll treat the movie with the respect that they've treated for Metropolis...only better. Of course I'm saying this due to the fact that I completely misjudged Columbia for "mishandling the movie" and also for the fact that I wanna get those jackasses who started those rumours.
