- Penguins Behind Bars
- Welcome to Eltingville
- The Groovenians (airing 11/24/02)
- Saddle Rash
NOTE: "Party Wagon," the pilot that was supposed to air in November, is being delayed so it can be turned into a 90-minute special.
Remember, all schedules are subject to change. We don't have any titles yet for the non Space Ghost 15 minute shows, but they're all supposed to be new in the month of October.
EDIT - According to Animerica Vol 10 issue 9, at least 2 new ASA shows premiere in December. We'll let you know what it is ASAP!
EDIT - Also, ATHF schedule is tentative. Either way, itself, Sealab, and Birdman will definitely sport new episodes in October.

Good, HM is back and it looks like the WS shows may be new in October. Are those "made for Fox Kids!" Ripping Friends or ASC-specific Ripping Friends.

Wouldn't the new Home Movies episode on September 1st be episode 305? It will be the 5th episode of Season 3 so I don't see why it wouldn't, I'm assuming that's how they number them. Unless they start at 300 and work their way up instead of 301.

September 1st Home Movies is a rerun. Episode 202 - Identifying a Body.

FOX Kids episodes (except for Infernal Wedding which never aired).
Spumco's fast but they're not THAT fast. Expect new episodes by January, IMO.

This makes absolutely no sense.
If two timeslots are taken in December, they'll obviously be Outlaw Star's and Gundam 0083's. There's a problem with that, though. Reports indicate that another Power to the People is coming, and as you may know, Outlaw Star is on it. OLS won last year's by a vast majority and hasn't been seen on Toonami since. Now, I could be wrong, but I bet it'll most likely win the election.
If events go like that, both Adult Swim and Toonami will air the same series at the same time. Now, I was under the impression that they didn't want a Toonami show and an ASA show airing at the same time, which is why they pulled Tenchi before its run was over. Can someone explain this? Will OLS be pulled by then? Or maybe will OLS NOT be on the PttP poll? Or maybe they just don't care about it?
I know that nobody really has an answer for this, I'm just wondering what they're thinking...

So Space Ghost is back in action? Excellent... and is Animerica talking about Big O 2 and GITS or something we don't know about?
No way WS could have accquired two other shows in addition to Inu-Yusha, GITS, and Big O 2.... or could they have? Huh... food for thought.

Bah, I really was hoping we'd get a simultaneous airing of GitS. Oh well, I'm almost positive one of those December shows will be it, and that's still pretty darn close to simultaneous.
As for the other December show...think about this. If it IS Big O 2, then that means they won't be showing the first season before the second premieres. Which is a decidedly BAD idea, if that's the case. Of course, Animerica might just have their wires crossed a bit and the first season is actually beginning in December, with the second season airing immediately after (but that would also likely mean that the Japanese are getting the show before us).
Though, it could very well be that they've acquired another show that we don't know about yet. There's always the adventures of a certain thief, long-rumored to be headed for the block someday...

Remember this is subject to change, I really doubt Outlaw Star and Gundam 0083 are going to really air much, Outlaw Star should be replaced by Big O the week after the last episode. Gundam 0083 can get a 3rd run maybe, but they'll replace it whenever GiTS arrives, maybe they'll air Char's Counterattack as a special too.

Maybe they'll air the first season of Big O again on Adult Swim starting in December, then start in on the second season when they're done with that. Considering that the most common (and most believable) release date for Big O 2 I keep hearing is Winter 2003, that would seem to make sense.

Hmm, the "What's new in August and September" thread claims September 1st is a new as of yet untitled Home Movies. It must be wrong then because I saw no previews for new Home Movies last Sunday.

Well, I've heard Mike Lazzo saying he was doubting they'd give it a run, but it was possible for continuity's sake.
Probably what'll happen is that it'll show up on the Rising Sun, but it'll get promoted on ASA or something. Doubt it, but it seems possible.

Cartoon Network hasn't announced "Trigun" as an acquisition, so that's highly doubtful. If CN does have it, they're very good to hide it from us, but that's also highly doubtful.
And please, for sanity's sake, let's not get into a flame war over "Trigun" again, especially since this thread doesn't deal with that topic.

I can't wait... this time next year people will be saying how much they like the old RF episodes but the new ones are awesome... JUST LIKE with Baby Blues.
Just watch, it'll happen. But for the record, I want to say that since Matt broke the RF news, I was the FIRST person to post in it, and I said I couldn't wait. I still can't. Spumco is the best animation studio in America, IMHO, and I think AS is just the block they need to show what they're capable of.

Actually, I beleive if Outlaw Star goes on Toonami before a new show is on ASA, why dont they take out OS, and put temporary back to back MSG? It'd get the show moving alot faster. Or better, YYH.

I never saw the "Ripping Friends", but I'm sure intrigued. I don't care what people say about it; I'll only know until I see it for myself. And I'm also hoping that the new episodes are more the reason ASC got a hold of the show in the first place.
And I'm very intrigued about that Animerica article, saying two new ASA shows premiere in December. Well, there are only two other shows we know about that are going to be on ASA: "Big O 2" and "Ghost in the Shell TV". These are the most likely candidates...unless CN is being sneaky behind our backs and getting some more acquisitions. Will they officially recognize the demand for "Trigun"? Is the Fox liscence on "Vision of Escaflowe" almost expired? Am I just talking crap here? Oh, man, December is too far away...

CN said that they're looking into Trigun. So far, no word. Perhaps they've already got it and are looking for the right time to air it? Perhaps they lost the chance to ever perchase Trigun's TV liscense and are no longer pursuing it? Either way, CN is very quiet with this predicament.
There's no way CN could get Escaflowne until Fox's liscense expires (which is around 1 more year, I think.). But they can air the Escaflowne movie. I don't believe that Fox has acquired the rights to the movie yet, so Bandai could let CN air it. But then again, from what I've heard, the Escaflowne movie was bad in terms of storytelling. Still, it's something.

And the Escaflowne movie is supposed to be good if you hadn't seen the series yet, but it's not good in the eye of anyone who had already seen the series. So, it seems like it'd be okay on AS.

I think I have an answer for whomever asked how many eps of ATHF, Brak, and Sealab would be made this season. Someone post the correct answer if i'm wrong, but i think there are supposed to be 13 episodes of one of them and 8 or 9 of the other two. I think sealab will be the one with 13 new eps, but i'm not certain.

Correct, Trigun was addressed in the manner of WS telling Matt "We're aware of the demand for Trigun" (Read the BOARD FAQ thread for proof -- it's in Matt's original post there). Now, that's a FAR cry from "Oh yeah, we're getting Trigun" it just means "we know people want it, but we either can't afford it right now, or (hopefully) we agree with Xevo that it's far from a first pick for our HUGELY mainstream-oriented ASA block"... (personally, I like to imagine the latter =P)
Most, if not all, anime movies based on a TV series were made for one reason and one reason only -- to cash in on the fandom for said show. Realize that, in Japan, the shows generally run two seasons at the MOST unless they are WILDLY popular. Hence, a movie being made can adress pent-up fan demand for a show that's been off the air for a couple of years (especially when the creative team has a NEW show out which has made them even more popular and has re-invigorated interests in their older shows). This was the case with the Evangelion movie (Death&Rebirth anyway, EoE was to appease all the idiots who couldn't be happy with the way the manga and TV series ended, which is the TRUE ending), the Esccaflowne movie and, more recently, the Cowboy Bebop movie. They're really just made so fans don't have a movie to BEG for (keeps a lot of silly fan mail to a minimum), and hopefully the movie is so bad that they're thankful for what they had in the first place =P

Oh yes, of course, anyone who doesn't agree with you is an idiot. If you actually knew what went down with Evangelion, you'd know that the original ending was axed due to censorship problems (the same kind that got 14 eps of Bebop banned from the air 2 years later) and replaced with the garbage that is eps 25 & 26. The original ending was turned into Rebirth/End of Eva.
