Comics Continuum revealed more information on the new character Bezerker who will be appearing this fall on X-Men: Evolution. He will join about seven or so new characters. Bezerker has appeared in only on issue of the X-Men books, in X-Factor #11. He joins Magma, Jubilee, Boom Boom, Iceman, Multiple, Wolfsbane, Sunspot and Cannonball as new students at the Xavier Institute this season.
Boyd Kirkland told The Continuum that Bezerker seemed like the best choice. The crew for X-Men: Evolution were "...provided a list by Craig (Kyle) at Marvel of people in the X-Men pantheon and sort of went through it and tried looking for a good mix of powers and abilities and things that would be fun to see and where it wasn't too much duplication of what their powers were going to be. Because if you look through this stuff, a lot of these characters do the same thing."
According to Kirkland, the character was also brought in the balances the sexes of the group, bring the level of boys and girls to a somewhat even ground. And since he's a "hothead" he brings tension to the group. Kids'WB! gave a description of the character:
"Berzerker's power is fierce and so is he. Much like Roberto (Sunspot), he is quick to take offense. He refuses to admit when he's wrong, and will never be first to back down. He's got a wild streak that can be fun, but has a real dangerous edge to it. He's really not a good fit with the X-Men, and would probably feel more at home with the Brotherhood."
