While the Powerpuff Girls were taken off Kids WB a while ago, Scooby Doo is still there. Scooby should not be on Kids WB.

this is great news. i dont mind that scooby doo is still there, since it was on the channel about 10 years ago. I hope no more shows are taken. Then again, if WB wants to take EEnE,Courage, or Sheep and revive them after they get cancelled, I have no problem with that.

I have a distinct feeling that "Powerpuff Girls" may regrettably be out of production. That is very frustrating for everyone if it's true.
And what are the odds that there are only 50 half- hours of "Powerpuff Girls" released? So far we've seen 49 shows, but I haven't taped all of them. Yet.
Could it mean that to launch the return to simply Primetime 'Cartoon Cartoon Fridays' on August 30 we may be having the final "Powerpuff" Premiere ever?
I'm hoping "Powerpuffs" are still in production. I'd like to see that series reach 100 half-hour shows!!
But I'm still upset that Kids' WB! pulled the wrong series from their lineup!! They were supposed to drop that jerk dog, NOT the young trio with the biggest box office EVER!!!!
Who knows? Maybe Kids' WB! will realize the error of their ways and bring back "Powerpuffs" rightfully, as a definite replacement for that muy loco "Mucha Lucha". Believe me, the female trio deserve a bigger and better opportunity than what they received from the Broadcast Network last time. :( :wakko:

I wouldn't say "The Powerpuff Grils" is out of production just yet. There's still that "Rock Opera" episode that Craig talked about doing.

*Goes blind.*

Nonetheless, PPG will still be on CN. And even if it isn't, the people who make it will do more good stuff.

Waggytoon, PPG was only on KidsWB to promote for the movie. Now that the movie tanked, KidsWB doesn't need it anymore. Therefore, they stopped showing it. They aren't going to get rid of Scooby-Doo because it obviously gets good ratings or they would have thrown it out a while ago since all they seem to care about is ratings and money. I don't think PPG will ever be coming back to KidsWB, and I'm glad for that since they can't seem to promote it as anything but a little girls' show.

this is great news. <

I know at least one non-cable subscriber who doesn't consider it great news at all. He was just starting to get into the show, and now he can't watch it any more. :(

I know this sounds selfish but I'm glad the Powerpuff Girls are gone from Kids WB. Everytime I've seent them on there I couldn't help but think "The WB doesn't deserve them". Its bitter and petty, but true. While the money made off of their brief airings made it possible to fund other projects, I didn't like the way Kids WB kind of made it look like 'their' show by grouping the girls in some of their segways.

You aren't going to catch me defending WB's motives for carrying PPG to begin with, CartoonFridays.

But I find it regrettable that it got yanked just when some viewers were getting their first chance to enjoy it.

Well, I must say I'm glad that the WB quit playing the Powerpuff Girls in the afternoon at 4:30pm. The reason is that my WB affiliate played it at 4:30, I live in the central time zone. The reason was due to paid programming at 2:00. So, why am I happy you say? The reason is I couldn't decide whether to watch it on Cartoon Network or Kids' WB! Well, I think the real reason the Powerpuff Girls went to Kids' WB was to increase popularity for the PPG movie. All I think it did was increase the popularity of the series and not the movie! I'm kind of glad in a way that it's of Saturday morning because I'd miss the new episodes in the morning.

I think it would be smart for Kids' WB to have a Cartoon Cartoon block due to the fact Looney Tunes plays on Cartoon Network on Saturday mornings. This could also be an adventange due to CBS will be airing a Nicktoon block if I'm not mistaken. Hmm, what would it be like, though? ( Maybe like someone said, bring back the old Cartoon Cartoons out of production or maybe the Cartoon Cartoon show!) Would it work? Leave me try.

{Times in eastern} NOT FOR REAL! JUST FOR WHAT IF?!
8:00 Cow & Chicken
8:30 I Am Weasel
9:00 Sheep In The Big City
9:30 Time Squad
10:00 The Cartoon Cartoon Show
10:30 Mike Lu & Og
11:00 JBVO
11:30 Viewer's Choice?

I don't think it would work but I would miss Pokemon if this would happen!

That's true. One of my friend's younger sisters was probably happy due to she liked PPG merchandise but never seen the show due to she had antenna and no cable.

I remember how happy I was when my cable company put Cartoon Network from Digital Cable to regular!

Not A bad idea. If they do this, people who don't get cable would finally get to see the magical world of Cartoon Cartoons, and prove to the broadcast network idiots that Saturday Morning can still be profitable. It just lost it's edge thanks to countless FCC regulations. Besides, Cartoon Cartoons would whip the pants off all the other crap that's out there. Also, if CBS brought over some Nicktoons like Spongebob, Fairyodd Parents, and Invader Zim, they would score big as well. Why depirve the kids of joy, and imagination? They sure won't get it from the news. And another thing. If the network suites market the shows the same way as their cable networks do, then everything would be just dandy! Oh, and Mojo_Jojo. I think you should also include Static Shock, and X-Men Evolution in your schedule asl weel, and do away with Mike Lou, and Ogg.

I also think Hey Arnold! and As Told By Ginger were being considered earlier in the year on CBS,too. I think that the Wb's programming may not do so good in some areas. Yu-Gi-Oh!, Static Shock, Pokemon, and X-Men Evolution are popular too, however. So it should be interesting. Maybe, they could play half Cartoon Cartoon and half Kids' WB! Let's see what that would look like!

that eppisode aired in Canada under the name "hear me, see me, gnomey", so it may be out of production :(

anyhow:
WB just didn't know how to handle the show. They pretended it was "another WB show" like the did with scooby doo, and put charicters in their commertails, and made them out of charicter and such.

And I believe that *I* am that non-cable subscriber that Sharklady's talking about; at $40/month for basic cable, I can't afford to shell out that much to Time-Warner on a regular basis. And even if I did have cable, I wouldn't see anything wrong with running the PPGs on regular TV....more exposure, after all (as they've done for Scooby Doo), plus these days, thanks to the various media mergers, it's common to trade shows between broadcast and cable properties among mega-media companies (see: ABC and ABC Family, CBS and Nickelodeon, etc.). Of course, seeing the Girls' show disposed of so quickly after the movie failed was rather disrespectful...

(BTW, Sharklady, did you ever happen to see my PPGs-meet-Pinky and the Brain fanfic story on the Story Board? Was wondering what you made of it...)

No, but only because I didn't know it was up! I shall certainly take a look at it now. Though I may not be able to post a review before Aug. 19, when I get back from my vacation trip to Maine.

Thanks..was wondering if anyone else had even seen it, given the lack of followup comments on it. If anyone cares (a TV GUIDE-style synopsis):
"'THE GRIFFINO FACTOR': When Brain decides to create his own anime series 'Stocktron Force: Tenchi-Feely Chewing-Gum-Crisis-On-Infinite-Earths 3024 AD Touch Football Z" to take over the world via gathering enough of a following among anime fanatics, a required trip to Townsville forces "Optimus Brain", "Pink the Stampee", and "Bil Li" to work with the Powerpuff Girls to defeat the evil might of Stewie Griffin (of "Family Guy" fame) and his equally-evil android creation Griffino, the android with all the powers of the 'Animaniacs' cast (and then some). Guest star: Mojo Jojo. Running time: c. 50 pages."
