AH! Could The PJs make it to Adult Swim?!?!

I hated this show, but I just had a bad thought of the possibility. I know it started out on Fox (I only saw the episodes on that channel). But it went to the WB. And they've picked up three shows from that channel, so is it possible?

After it's run on Fox it moved to WB for...a few episodes. I personally did not like this show, but I do remember that the first episode on the WB featured Jackie Chan.

The PJs was pretty good if you stuck with the series. It was funny AND sincere, not to mention the animation was excellent.

I don't think it has much of a chance at making the AS lineup though.

I respect your opinion Mr. Glass. I agree with you that the Claymation was done pretty well on that show. I was really excited for this show because it looked funny and I heard Eddie Murphy had something to do with it. I watched the first episode and I wasn't amused. It was just boring talk and stereotypical black people behavior IMO. I watched a few more episodes hoping it would get better, but for me it didn't.

I watched three episdoes before surrendering hope this could be good. I wanted it to be good, I really did, as I wanted to see more good prime time animation, but when it was on Fox I could not get into this show at all, and when it went to WB, I could have cared less.

So did WB buy the rights to this show or does Fox still own it? If it's not an actual WB show, I doubt we would see it on Adult Swim.

I loved the show and was sad to see it disappear. I didn't expect much of it but it turned out really funny. Much more funny then most of the supposed comedic shows on ASC.

The PJS was hilarious, if incredibly degrading to blacks in America. I heard one of the main reasons it was cancelled was because of complaints by the NAACP and other african-american socio-political groups, though I haven't seen any proof. It would certainly fit into Adult Swim as well as Baby Blues, and I'm always down for anything with Eddie Murphy... well, almost. Doubtful it'll come to AS, though.

Man I miss the PJ's. That was one of the best shows Fox had back in the day <besides Simpsons and World's Scarest Police Chases>. Yet I know it would never be put on AS. :(

Yes it was Eddie Murphy's work. And if it indeed WAS cancelled in part because it was "degrading", that's just crap. It was HONEST. That's what I liked about it. The humor could be pretty bland at times, but one of the strengths of this show, if not its primary strength, was the fact that it never at any point abandoned its roots. It set out to give an honest (maybe SLIGHTLY exaggerated) look at life in the projects, killing the false assumption that ALL people in the projects are sewer rats, only some of them are.

I wouldn't be very surprised if the PJs made it to Adult Swim. If CN is willing to pick up a dull, unwatchable show like the Oblongs, then they'd certainly pick up a show as boring and unfunny as the PJs.
