It does for me.Don't know why it just does, maybe cuz of the clothes.......XD
The styles are closer to the early 80' (ie the Devo hats those two kids wear)
Trust me on this I was alive then
Now I am going to steal some stereos and smoke while doing so.... :D

Yeah, it brings back major memories of "School House Rock" and other stuff from back then...

I agree. I started figuring that after they thought that Pong and the Rubix Cube where just soooo amazing.

Judging by the characters' clothes and the Rubix cube episode, I'd say Robot Jones is set in the 1980's.

What year WAS Robot Jones made in? I always forget to look when the credits are on.
It was made in 2002! XD; The whole style of it to me isn't pretty I don't like it. It looks cheap. But it does remind me of School House Rocked which was okay, but some of the clothes they wear on that show! And the whole idea of futuristic robots most have been placed in early 1980's, have you ever seen Short Circut? XD Anyway I'm just a bill on capital hill...

Greg Miller, the creator actually worked on School House Rock cartoons. The series takes place in a retro 1980s universe in which robots and humans coexist. Funny idea, and the animation style is a breath of fresh air. The fact that its really new, but looks old is cool as well :)

Wow, Greg Miller actually worked on "School House Rock"! Now wonder "Robot Jones" is influenced by that look. I may not be A big fan of "School House Rock", or it's animation style, but this time It's put to good use in my opinion. What I also like about "Robot Jones" is how it pokes fun at shows like "Doug", Pepper Anne", and "Recess", while at the same time paying tribute to the 80's. Mixed with that wonderful Cartoon Cartoon magic we all know, and love. It's also is the only show currently in production to use traditional cels instead of computer coloring software.

The two kids that wear the Devo hats are the Yogman twins, and even though this cartoon is set in the 1980's, it looks something like a long-lost late 1970's-early 1980's cartoon (because of the Schoolhouse Rock -esque characters, the hashmarked shading, and the early computer/video game sound effects and music)

I've only ever seen it once...but I remeber that it reminded me of 1980's or so. I know its not the 90's.

robot jones, officially, is set in the 80's. some of the clues are: old style video games, rubik's cube references, the promo much like an old atari video game, real old school animation.....i'd name more but i really don't find any fondness for this show in my black heart. :D
