It's getting pathetic. We have new Home Movies and the new series of (the horrible) Oblongs, but that's it.They aparently only made 3 new HBAAL episodes and Mission Hill will be ending it's run soon. That means that soon in a 3 hour block of p[rogramming only 1 hour will actually be new,and half of that hour will suck it hard.

I suggest CN shortens the block to 10-11:30.The shows are getting run to the ground and very stagnent.

Another possibility is WS actually makes new programming. It took 10 months to make five 15 minute HBAAL episodes? That's just sad man.

even with all the reruns i'd rather see AS other than more yule toon or oldies, yes they need more new episodes and i dont care for the oblongs either but i guess its better than watching somethin else on CN

Nonsense. If you don't like the repeats, then don't watch the repeats. No-one is forcing you to watch repeats, so if they bother you then just watch the new stuff.

Yeah, I don't remember seeing any law that says "you have to watch all of the Adult Swim block every week." Why are reruns of old Hanna Barbera cartoons any better reruns of AS shows?

heck, its even worse for ASA, ive been hearing reports that Inu Yusha wont be airing because the deal fell through, if thats the case, then WS needs to get more new shows for ASA, its already dull this past month (with the marathons) and it will continue to be dull this month, nothing but re-runs

How good of you to not research anything before you make a claim.

It's getting pathetic. We have new Home Movies and the new series of (the horrible) Oblongs, but that's it.

YEAH! What's their problem, besides the fact that AUGUST IS THE LEAST-VIEWED MONTH OF THE ENTIRE YEAR.

They aparently only made 3 new HBAAL episodes and Mission Hill will be ending it's run soon.

They made 20 new HBAAL episodes. Of course, you could've found this out by checking the news section. Too much effort, I'm guessing?

Mission Hill won't go off the air until at least 2 runs, if not more, as people really like the show.

That means that soon in a 3 hour block of p[rogramming only 1 hour will actually be new,and half of that hour will suck it hard.

Dude, it's freaking AUGUST. You know what most networks air right now? Reruns! CN is one of the few networks to debut new cartoons during the summer, so live with it.

I suggest CN shortens the block to 10-11:30.The shows are getting run to the ground and very stagnent.

But then they wouldn't have room for:

- 9 new episodes of Aqua Teens
- 9 new episodes of The Brak Show
- 13 new episodes of Sealab 2021
- 13 episodes of Baby Blues season 2
- The new show, Aquaman and Friends
- Continuing new episodes of Home Movies
- Continuing new episodes of Harvey Birdman
- Episodes of Oblongs that have never aired before on US television

Another possibility is WS actually makes new programming. It took 10 months to make five 15 minute HBAAL episodes? That's just sad man.

It took 10 months to make 20 15-minute HBAALs, mostly because they had to switch between American studios.. until they settled at CN Studios. 9 months is about the average time to traditionally-animate a show.

Their working on a show called Aquaman And Friends! I was not aware of this! I hope its as offbeat and irreverent as HB:AAL, cause if it is, it sounds like it'll be great. New everything...can't wait....

They still have a lot of stuff to repeat for those that missed it. Such as the SGC2C momentaries. That's why they show reruns.

YEAH! What's their problem, besides the fact that AUGUST IS THE LEAST-VIEWED MONTH OF THE ENTIRE YEAR.

Mind you this isn't the first time that ASC has been rerun frenzied, even back in February which is a highly rated TV month.

They made 20 new HBAAL episodes. Of course, you could've found this out by checking the news section. Too much effort, I'm guessing?

Then why'd they only air 5?

I mean as in no more new episodes

First I've heard of all this, when will it all actually debut?

Yet again, why are they only airing 5?Why did they get us hooked and take it away? Why not just wait til September so they could show all 20 with no breaks instead of takling hiatuses and showing the Bannon Custody Case which has seen it's fair share of airings?

Um, in February they were airing new Brak Show, new ATHF, new Home Movies, new Baby Blues, and new Sealab 2021.

Rerun frenzied my ass.

Then why'd they only air 5?

They're airing the remaining 15 in the fall.

First I've heard of all this, when will it all actually debut?

All in the fall. Aqua Teens will probably be the first out of the gates with "Dumber Days", with Brak in tow. Oblongs, Birdman and HM will continue to air new episodes. Aquaman and Friends will debut in September and is being highlighted at Comic Con, I believe. Baby Blues season 2 may or may not happen immediately. The episodes were produced and I'm fairly certain CN got the rights to them...

Yet again, why are they only airing 5? Why did they get us hooked and take it away? Why not just wait til September so they could show all 20 with no breaks instead of takling hiatuses and showing the Bannon Custody Case which has seen it's fair share of airings?

Because of people like you that whine about "rerun-frenzies."

I don't remember the programming schedule but there was one month that had like 2 actual premieres in the whole month.

And if they don't premier the actual episodes then they can't rerun them. What's the point of only airing 3 new episodes of HBAAL when they have over 20 made? It's better to rerun over 20 episodes then run the same 5 into the ground.

That month you're thinking about is December. They aired rerun weeks because of the January debut of Baby Blues and season 2 of Home Movies. They were holding stuff off.

And if they don't premier the actual episodes then they can't rerun them. What's the point of only airing 3 new episodes of HBAAL when they have over 20 made? It's better to rerun over 20 episodes then run the same 5 into the ground.

You must've missed my point.

They COULD have just waited until September to air the new Birdman episodes. But then they would have a handful of people like you, complaining about the lack of new material in the summer. So they threw you a bone and aired some new stuff. They're not going to air it all because they don't want to recreate December.

Right now, you're getting new episodes of Home Movies, The Oblongs, and a couple more episodes of Mission Hill. It's far from a "rerun frenzy", if you ask me.

So..
when's the Aquaman show gonna air?

Just wondering whether I should hurt my sister for not letting me watch it in Brazil. I can't remember what show she wanted to watch, but she didn't let me see more than the first 30 seconds of Aquaman and Friends that one time I saw it on. Darneet.

The reason they only showed 4 episodes of Harvey Birdman so far is because HARVEY BIRDMAN JUST RETURNED THIS MONTH! Adult Swim Comedy doesn't air 5 days a week like Toonami does. It only airs once a week, and there are only a few weeks in a month. That's why they haven't aired very many episodes.

He's not complaining because they just showed new episodes, he's complaining because there's no new episodes in August.

AS will never have a 3 hour block of "ALL NEW" episodes. There are obviously going to be reruns included, and more often than not a lot of those reruns will be new to people who missed them the first time around. Really, none of the shows have been through a "rerun frenzy" yet with the possible exception of ATHF and Brak, just because so few episodes were made to begin with that they've all been aired multiple times.

I like the re-runs, except for the Brak Show, but the thing that really pisses me off is that WS deems these crappy WB cartoons worthy of Adult Swim. I absolutely love Mission Hill and can't thank them enough for showing the 13 completed episodes, showing the Oblongs is a terrible mistake, it's a godawful show, and showing baby Blues season 2? Please, for my sanity, tell me that they were already completed episodes, because if they commissioned new episodes of that crap, and not Mission Hill...I might go insane. I like the fact that we are getting new eps this fall. I like the addition of Aquaman, but does anyone see a potential conflict with two shows have Aqua as the first word? To people who watch regularly it won't be, but for newbies...I am not so sure. BTW, If someone from CN is reading this. Cancel Baby Blues, the Oblongs, The Brak Show, and don't even commission another short (I hated March) Keep Birdman, Aqua Teen, Aquaman, Sealab and Space Ghost going and let the half hour shows like Mission Hill (make New eps.) and Home Movies be the base of ASC

Agreed on The Oblongs, never really cared much for it, despite Will Ferrell's genius.

But hey, ANYTHING to hold off Popeye.

It's time to crack some heads, and clear up some AS misconceptions.

1.- AS is the LAST thing on Williams's Street's mind. They're more worried about Cartoon Cartoon's or Toonami, so be thankful for what you get!

2.- Since AS is that last thing on WS's mind, funds are limited. HB episodes are produced with new animation, which runs expensive. Recycling animation like Sealab and the Brak show are the only way to keep the rather pathetically watched block in the green.

3.- Anime is also very expensive. Editing is more expensive (which explains why CN stopped doing it personally) They don't want to argue with anime producers, but want it kid friendly too? The result is an expensive, garbled mess of a once-great show.

This sounds like a rant, but it's the honest truth. People need to realize what WS has to work with, and the lack of viewership.

I most certainly am thankful... but I didn't know WS did Cartoon Cartoons or Toonami? I thought WS was an AS exclusive (since AS started, that is)...

If you would point out what they've done elsewhere, I'd be greatly appreciative. I'm always looking for some good toons.

-Big Ben

P.S. - Some people (like me) like Baby Blues (most of the time) and the Oblongs (what I've seen).

Williams Street has nothing to do with Cartoon Cartoons.

That's not why WS stopped doing it. They did it for other reasons, but they will still edit a show if they don't think the distributor can do it right(aka G Gundam). And they don't want it kid-friendly. That's why they hand-pick shows and only selections that would FIT Adult Swim Action are being monitored.

Yes, but I had to say something. AS is definetley hanging on by a thread. Or at least it feels like it.
