Does anyone, or anyone in their family garden? My dad loves working in the backyard, which is quite colorful and beautiful. Mom loves buying plants for inside...but she keeps killing them, lol, and then they get handed over to dad and then they're fine. He and I are major green thumbs. Anyhoo, I guess there's a plum tree in our yard, which I didn't know, and it's produced it's fruit, and boy are they good! It was so awesome to have something from your very own background that's home grown and all that.

Oooh my Babs, your Dad and mine should compare notes. He loves to garden, too. We used to have planters, palm trees, flowers, and everything ALL OVER the yard; once we got our dog 6 years ago, we realized that it was impossible to keep up such a nice garden. Argh.
Even still, we have a vegetable garden, filled with potatoes, peas, raddishes, carrots, beans (green and yellow), spinach, tomatoes, garlic, onions, corn, and pumpkins! It's a bit of a crapshoot with the corn and the pumpkins, though.
Oh yeah, we have a huge cherry tree in the backyard, too. The crows love that one. :)

My mother's afraid that whatever she plants will either die or poison all of us. ;) I have a bit of a green thumb (probably inherited from my grandmother), but considering my mother's way of planting, I haven't been able to use it that often; I just have a few plants and a potted tomato-plant. :D

since i'm away from home the majority of the year, i don't keep too many plants. so far i have mostly herbs - basil, rosemary, lavender, and mint (it's just rooting right now). A flower nursery in the next city gave away hanging plants for free so my sister and i got some. then my grandmom's epiphyllium bloomed and she gave us some leaves to share her joy. i don't know how they're doing, my dad keeps taking them outside (where it's raining) so i think they're dying.
the ones i keep at school are aloe (especially important now, since i'm going to be cooking at my friends place - they live off campus and have a kitchen!) and i'm probably going to take some lavender and rosemary...and probably basil...just so i have some flavor to tv dinners or if i want some tea...
i don't know who's going to take care the rest of the plants when my sister and i are away. certainly not my brothers. maybe my mom but she works a lot and is tired by the end of the day...my dad might water the trees and hanging plants, but he'll forget about my herbs and the other flowers... :(

No green thumb here. People have given me plants in the past and they have all died in my care. My mom likes to garden to some extent. The water lilies seem to be her favorite and they are flourishing. The only thing that has died in her care are miniature roses. My sister has one plant, a small fern she keeps in her dorm. Its name is Theodore. I have another sister who had a plant in her room too while she was in the East coast. She would talk to it and play music for it.

My Grandmother has a garden and so do I. I grow corn, greenbeans, peppers, Watermeleon, tomatos, okra and squash and so does my grandmother. She cans greenbeans and tomatos. As soon as I get a big enough crop I will as well.
