Start of School

When does everyone start school? I have to go back Aug. 6. :eek:

I just got my BA this past year, but I will be going back to school sometime this coming school year - either November or January, it looks like.

August 6th?! ouch does that seem early. When did you get out of school? I'm going back to school August 26th, well going to school, but a different one...yay for college! Normally I would go back around the first week of September if I was still in high school...not that much of a difference though, only lost a week or so of vacation, not like I notice!

Why is it in the US that some schools start SO EARLY (anytime in August) and in other states they start at a more "normal" time, like the Tuesday after Labour Day?

Well, at least that's how it is in Canada - but then again, methinks that the government is giving the students as long a summer break as they can. You know, before the snowfall comes around the usual time like September 15th or somethin'. :D

I'm annoied they put the back 2 school crap at most stores in the way of the entrance and the path to the toys. How rude I have to walk thru idiots and dirty children to make it to the toys

I'm talking about younger kids before someone here gets all angry. If you follow the rules of TZ you have to be 14 and I'm talking about little dirty kids. Can't stand em'

Here in Massachusetts we go back the first Tuesday/Wednesday after Labor Day. Naturally, they play back to school ads non-stop in mid July. Does that drive anyone else as crazy as me? :p

As for me, new Semester starts Wednesday after Labor Day. I actually don't mind going back to school, I guess I've just grown out of this huge love for summer thing. The fact that I prefer it being cold to being hot, and the fact that the NFL Season and MLB playoffs occur in the fall can't hurt... ;)

Well I never really loved Summer myself, I mean I always felt it was too long but doing nothing the entire time will do that to you. Now that I have a job this summer and have been doing things other than attending parties it seems shorter.

But still i wish school would starta lready beacuse the sooner it starts the sooner it ends and the sooner I graduate.

My sister and I are graduating the same year(her from 8th grade me from 12th) so I'm really looking forward to graduation. Do you have any idea how much money we are getting ? (I'm getting more, but still)

Not really. For my brother, I think his gift was his car which he's had for a while. Me, I got a few Popeye toys to finish my collection. (Don't laugh :D )

And a little night table was given to the two of us. But my brother keeps asking for a PS2 for his HS graduation gift. I think MS graduation ain't much of a big deal. HS is.

The first Wednesday after Labor Day. 11th grade, just one more after this one, I'm scared :eek: . This is also Prom year so I'm happy. Do any of you take advanced classes? Because I do, Math and Science. This year I'm going to do Pre-cal for math and Physics for science. Then in 12th grade it's Calculis and some college science course. It's been easy so far.

Aug. 19th.... I wake up early and load the caravans.... then I will go on a journey and eventually set up shop at some place called college...

...(i'm going to be sooo miserable..) Actually, I managed to get a room in the quiet scholor hall, so i'll be fine.... I'm not looking forward to college though, sounds like a lot of work....

..but with that fast internet connection... I'll be spending all my time downloading and posting here... so... there...
