The Song "That's What Girls Do" is finnaly on CD. This song is from the Powerpuff Girls Movie.

It's a song from "No Secrets"

The CD is "No Secrets"

But there's also a CD Single which is Much Cheaper. I saw "No Secrets Commercial on TV. And I saw the CD Single on Amazon.com.

Also did you like this song?

I did. It's stuck in my head.

At least "Girls aginst the world." includes some lyrics that are somewhat compatable to the Powerpuff Girls, unlike "You ask me why I change the colour of my hair." *Screams and Cusses at the thought of that demon's song.*

sorry, but I personally can't stand this song. ::gag:: just a bunch of Britney Spears clones to add to the ever-growing drones of talentless pop stars. Its a shame they used stuff like this to endorse the movie, and not to mention, decided to air it between practically every commercial break. Everytime I see it, I cringe. I mean, that one girl was wearing a shirt with a playboy bunny logo on it. Oh yes...that's really appropriate for a kids movie...mmhmm

I heard that this song was shoved down Mr. McCracken's throat for use in the PpG movie (poor guy). It really goes against the PpG's image and the scantily clad Brittany Spears clones don't help it either.

I noticed that, too. That was just wrong!! And the blank look in that blond girl's eyes is so scary

God, I hate that song. Girls Against the World is tolerable.

I'll admit that before I saw that little "music video", I thought the song clips they put in the commercials were catchy and kinda cute. But when I saw this group of girls, in their Playboy shirts and short-shorts, singing about coloring their hair and how many pairs of shoes they owned... I just had one question.

Why?

Oh I HATE that song!!

Girls against the world deserves more credit though. It's a really good song! Whenever I see that commercial I sing along. Anyone know if that song is on CD?

I hate the song as much as the movie previews. *gags*

As Double D would say, "Curse broadcast commmercialism!"

Well the thing is that Warner Bros. was the movie's distributor, which is to say they had a little say in how the movie was done. If you'll all notice there is no Powerpuff Girls Movie soundtrack. The WB would only allow one if they could pick many of the songs and all of those songs would HAVE to be in the film. Rather than ditch all of the composed music James has already made, Craig simply said "no thanks" and passed up a soundtrack.

I really don't think its a bad thing either. Warner Bros has a whole slew of talented artists on their lables, yet they chose this johnny-come-lately pop group in order to create "synergy" in the youth market.

The song itself is not totally bad. Its one of those songs that I say "Oh that's cute", and I don't listen to it again. Actually I listened to it several times before I knew it was forced into the film. I was trying to figure out the lyrics and wondering why exactly Craig had picked it (which I found out later he didn't). The song talks about "chick things"......like having lots of shoes and chaning the color of your hair. Not only is it kind of the Barbie doll mentality that is nothing like the Powerpuff Girls, its sung by 5 women that all seem to have the same voice.

Once again I am in the minority when I say I liked the song. I liked it better than "Girls Against the World". Yes, you heard me. I don't care what singers look like. I look at the songs themselves. And even hearing what you guys said was in the lyrics, I STILL like "That's What Girls Do".

Minority 'Zumi, that's me :P

Granted, that song ain't winnin' no Grammy, but I'll be darned if that don't ain't true. And do the girls in No Secrets get points for being so cute?
(On a side note, Kiddiesunshine used to have the chorus in "That's What Girls Do" as a sig.)

I liked the song for it's catchiness. When I heard, I thought it was better than "Girls Against the World," but not better than the "Let's Go".

Yeah, and then the music video hit. I was wondering what the deal was, is this just another girl power image to be induced upon the Cartoon Network faithful. Airing it 20 times a day should certainly constitute illegal brainwashing :( .

I don't think the song is all that bad. But I do agree that it has nothing to do with the movie. Know, the chicks of No Secert are hot. I don't care if there a bunch of Brittany Spears clones, its all the better.

Granted, that song ain't winnin' no Grammy

And the PPG ain't winning no Oscar either so it kinda evens out.

So a "Bad" song as all of you say, for a bad movie. What I mean is that this song and none of the other songs that CN aired helped the movie in any. As of right now it doesn't even matter if the song was meant for the PPG movie or not.

I can take or leave 'That's What Girls Do' as a song- ie; hearing it doesn't draw me into a room, or drive me out of it. But I can't forgive 'em using it to promote the movie, because those Barbie-ish lyrics are such a *glaring* mismatch.

For the record; my own favorite PPG-related song (far and away) is Devo's 'Go Monkey Go'- now there's a tune that makes me want to get up and do aerobics!

The first time I saw that on CN I thought Nick was on. I basically think of that song as the song that killed the PPG movie, because it strictly enforced the PPG is for little girls rule.

Admittenly, it does kind of stink. I do, however, love the Shonen Knife song, "Buttercup (I'm a Super Girl)." It's the most addicting song ever.

The Apples In The Stereo song, "Signal In The Sky" isn't bad. Kind of annoying in a monotonous way, but not too bad.

To be honest, I hate all of the powerpuff's songs. I just flip over to another worth-watching commercial break on another channel whenever I seen one of their music videos on.

Same thing on the radio. I was watching Radio Disney once, and they played that dadgum song. I hated it so much!

yes, definitely. Its not the music I can't stand, its the images, and in the case of this particular song, the annoyingly stereotypical lyrics that bother me.

The song, 'Girls against the World' was a lot better! (it sounded like the GoGos sang it:)). I hope it gets released as a single or something (since the PpG movie won't be getting a soundtrack) :(

I totally agree. And the promotional video...what was with that? I might have tolerated it if there were just clips from PPG.

Eeeew!! I hate that song, "That's What Girls Do"! Like the rest of you, it makes me cringe. Yuck! :p

I do like the "Girls Against the World", and the little video that goes with it. The song does make sense especially after you have seen the movie.

I also like these songs. Everytime they are played, I can't help but sing along. In fact, I liked the new CCF PPG ep on Friday, 8/2, and how they used the song, Signal In the Sky in the ep. The ep itself wasn't that great but that song was perfect for it.

BTW....is Shonen Knife a Japanese group? Just wondering because of the Japanese writing in the video. Great video, BTW! :D

Like someone else said: it was fine in the background of the commertails. Like the part where they're beating up the gangreen gang. I wish it was nothing more than background in advetisments -_-

I think the closest thing we'd get is the mp3 download at mp3.com (http://artists.mp3s.com/artist_song/2521/2521103.html)

You think the video for "That's What Girls Do" was bad, A-Teen's 'I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" from "Lilo & Stitch" is much worse! I haven't seen "Lilo & Stitch" yet, but if it comes to DVD in A 2 disc set, they better not put that sickening video on it! I want to commit mass murder on A-Teen!

Nick probably did that to shove it in CN's face that PPG bombed.

Stop the madness that is girl power!!! (I'm kidding about that, partially)
